Family Bibles from the 50s - early 80s. Find them at thrift stores and estate sales for $3-$12. I've sold several for $50-$75. Key - check that presentation and family history pages are blank. If not don't bother.
Tumi leather bags. Sold about 4-5 now, recently found a garment bag at one of the thrift stores I frequent. Picked it up for $8.00 buyer paid $185 and left glowing feedback. People that know this brand really love them.
Margaret would you do a video for beginners on how to shoot good pictures without expensive lighting and accessories? How did you start out with taking pictures and what did you learn later on?
I always look for vintage Bridal magazines. I’ve bought them for a few bucks each and they sell for about $30 to $40 AND they sell quickly! Modern Bride is always a winner.
I mostly resell clothing with the occasional hard goods. If I see spanx I’m definitely grabbing them it a quick and easy flip that doesn’t sit long. I usually pick them up for $1-$2, and flip between $35-$100 depending on what type it is.
Vintage or quality (company like Fluke) amp/ohm/volt meters. They go overlooked at garage sales and flea markets and you can turn a $2 to $5 investment into $50. Most any vintage electronics testing devices are a safe bet also. If you think about it, there were a lot fewer machines made for testing radios than for radios themselves (which everybody owned.) One nice thing about this stuff is although you might not see it every day, when someone has vintage electronic testing equipment, they often have a lot of valuable gadgets, and probably some of the items they were testing.
and I second the cloisonné . I sold a big beautiful lidded dish for $35. Wish I had known better. the inside was enameled in the most beautiful blue, extravagant Chinese design with bright colors and perfectly done, it was huge. It also had a mahogany platform to sit on. Live and learn. I did not post it. sold fast in the Antique store where I have a spot. Got it at a flea market for $4.
Annalee Dolls - I sold quite a few last winter and still here and there. Hand carved small wooden statutes - wizards, horses, old men, etc. tribal. Feel like I'm typing a description.
What about brands? Does it matter? There was a booth that had a BUNCH of perfume bottles...empty or used and i had no idea what they were worth. Prices were less than $2/bottle. They looked old but not sure:(
My local GW has a $5 watch bin and they tend to disregard digitals like Casio G-Shock and Baby G watches. I always check those counter bins for hidden treasure.
Anything in a box. I have found amazing stuff people have overlooked because they didn’t bother to open a box. And Native American pottery, which I hardly ever find.
Hi Margaret! Thank you so much for sharing this information. I was at the thrift store by me this weekend and I believe I found a very old (looks like early 1900s) cloisonné vase! Aside from it looking very old it’s in perfect condition! No chips or scratches or anything that I see. I’m going to try and get it looked at around here (NYC) and see what I find out. Will keep u posted!
Starbucks tumblers, Disney plush dolls, or anything Disney, name brand shoes. Oh... and I found a tiffany eye glass box. Inside that was a little bag and found earrings that sold for 200.00 on eBay.
Cloisonné, Jim Shore and framed butterflies are also my favorites. I also love antique skeleton keys, antique or vintage clocks, Starbucks you are here / been there mugs, Liberty bells, blown glass pumpkins and willow tree.
Thanks for the ideas and all the comments I'm going to have to make a list of what to watch out for lol hmm I've done good with the wood wall hooks too. I don't really have a go to item but Women's size shoes 10 and 11 sell quick for me as well as plus size clothes 3X, 4X for men and women.
I do local online selling, and my hot items are usually, Pyrex, Handmade Quilts or machine made, beautiful quilts. Stick Mixers, cobalt glass, small pieces of furniture.
Kugel Ornaments! Heavy and made in Germany. Also had some from India. The grape clusters are higher priced than the ball ornaments. Also, vtg. diecut holiday cards. My fav's!
I so appreciate those who flip christmas/holiday stuff. I love luxe Christmas ornaments. I few years ago I started collecting some here and there. But I've learned I don't have a lot of patience for digging through holiday bins. At this point, I usually treat myself to one at the beginning of December and pay the flipped price. It's one of the few items where I'm happy to let someone else be the middle man.
Double edged shaving razors, especially 60's-70's, gillette. From gold to copper, stainless and platnium, many are worth $30, some $150 and more. Older ones can be high, but usually $25-$30.
Do they sell really well....and fast? I once saw a lot being sold on letgo and wasn't sure if i should get them...how much avg$ should i pay per mug? Thx.
I primarily sell used books. Vintage Golden books sell well. For example, this week I sold a first printing Golden of Rupert the Rhinoceros for $19.99. It was in very good condition. However, they don’t have to be perfect. I recently sold a first edition of A Turkey for Christmas that had several spots of damage on the cover for $9.00. I literally had zero dollars in both books because they were donated to me.
Vintage Needlework//Crewel work from the 60's and 70;s that is framed. I pick them up for $1 - 2 each and sell for $8 -10 usually in a couple days. Good item for quick turn around and they are usually small and easy to ship.
Mid century modern table ware. S+P shakers with Animal motifs or old glass with silver tops. Any jewelry by vendome. If they are selling single pieces. Ill buy any Vendome, Weiss. Miriam Haskell. And sometime savers puts out bakelite unknowingly.
Love Jim Shore! Disney Jim Shore is a big bolo for us. Recently though, Men's dress shirts- Robert Graham, Mizzen+Main, Ermenegildo Zegna. I can usually find these for under $5 and sell for average over $35 pretty quickly.
I just gave my old accordion wall hook away ! I would have never thought it was a good seller. Oh, I am just starting, I paired a couple of matching mugs for quite a profit, Mug Life :) now I will be on the lookout for mugs that match. I watch several.reseller videos so I'm trying a little of everything. First sale was an Anker wall charger for a phone.
Thank you for your superb content! I have only been selling for a month, but so far my best sellers have been Rock Revival Jeans and Merrill Hiking Boots.
I am a wooden accordion wall hooks connoisseur, and until now I thought I was the only one in the world who appreciates them. They come in a full range of quality of wood and workmanship, and of course I prefer the nicer ones, although most are fairly simple and straightforward. I held a real beauty in my hands not too long ago, probably the best I've ever seen -- but the thrift store where I work has a policy that employees must wait two days with the item displayed on the sales floor before we are allowed to purchase anything. I'll hunt for it tomorrow, but I expect it is probably already gone by now. One thing I always try to grab whenever possible: good books.
You totally cracked me up with the “Whiplash grab”! There’s been times we were cruising along in a neighborhood sale and I’ve hit the brakes just a wee bit to hard because I spotted something from the street. I wanted hubby to quick, hop out of the car and nab that treasure before the car behind me can get parked! Vintage perfume and cologne bottles is my GOTO item! Especially High Karate cologne! Never heard of Jim Shore. Thanks for sharing!
Thrifty Elf Jim Shore’s pieces are known for the quilt look. Very pretty. He’s now on QVC or HSN when he has new items. He seems very nice. An older man. His items were made of wood and sold at Macy’s and were expensive. Made of resin now and less expensive but still pretty. He’s always coming out with new pieces (I assume, I don’t get QVC or HSN anymore). My info. is from my experience and may not be accurate.
I always pick up the lead crystal items, but only if it still has the sticker which proves it’s crystal. I recently picked up a crystal high heel. Looks like Cinderella’s glass slipper! I paid $2.99.

I definitely go for cloisonné items as well! Wallace silversmith candy cane Christmas ornaments are bolo. I also rarely pass up IKEA item, especially ikea lamps. They sell fast and for good profit. Thanks for your content.
One of your former BOLO videos helped me to identify a Gerda Lynggaard Monies necklace, so thank you for all the useful content! If I see Hunter Wellingtons, I snatch them right up, they always sell fast! Also Stuart weitzman shoes do well for me. I've sold a ton of Disney paraphernalia and Harry Potter items.
Hi from Melbourne Australia, I sell lladro and nao porcelain, I have found a few for under 5$ and sold for a great profit. Also country western boots and bags :)
I typically grab any form of card packs. Because A- they are cheap. And B- if they don’t sell, families can use them. I also grab golf clubs because I like cleaning them for money;)
Jim Shore. I buy nice dress shirts. I went today and got 4 nice white shirts, 3 vases. I never have enough nice vases. I make arrangements in them to people who are sick, birthdays, etc. Silk flowers if I can find nice ones. Love your videos.
Wow! Great video! Funny I just found an Eric Javits bag on my last trip to the bins! I'm so excited! I found it mixed in with the clothes and it is adorable!! So happy :)!!!!!!!!!
Margaret, you've been AMAZING in my life and I've never even met you. My whiplash items are Taxco and Alpaca silver jewelry. Sells like hotcakes every time, and I do seem to come across a lot of it, for being in the middle of Iowa! LOL Also, orthopedic or diabetic shoes seem to fly out of our shop!
I am a sucker for leather and lace, antique toys, anything asian and mid-century. Interesting fact tho, I was watching an archaeological dig and they pointed out that closinaise artifacts last longer than any other artifacts like bones, clay, pottery, coins, etc. I thought wow, Im going to have some closinaise in my jewelry repertoire lol
I’ve listed one item on eBay, a puzzle for $6.00. So I’d have to say if it sells, that’s my grab item lol 😝. Seriously, I’m glad to see you relaxed 😎 and happy 😃. You’re eyes sparkle ❇️.
Thanks for the info. Pottery barn anything. Especially curtains. The alligator and pink purse would have been mine. I’ve got two wooden peg holders and can’t give them away. One says made in Japan. What ?!?
Love Jim Shore. I do the same. I always look at sales. I found a Christmas cat new for .50 at a yard sale sold in 2 hours for $45. I look for coach stuff. I live in a very small town in mt.pleasant so we do not get alot of high dollar stuff. But anytime we go out of town I get my husband to stop at any goodwill, yard sale thrift stores we fine.
WOW! Thanks for the info! I picked up a pink cloisonné bird at the bins. it is pink and I thought it was so pretty for Valentines Day decor. I will sell it.
Not all mugs are created equal, but I have found that Dunoon fine bone china mugs always sell well. Make sure they are in pristine condition, and try to find more than one to sell as a pair or a set if you can. If not, even a single Dunoon mug will sell.
I'm so glad I stubble across your video! I've been venturing in this direction, trying to find my passion. I've only sold an item so far to get my feet wet. I took a beating on postage.. I didn't do the homework. I'll be following you! I'm finding Vintage sterling silver jewelry is almost stealing it prices right now live gathered a few weighty pieces I hope to turn around when silver regains value. Thank you for sharing your story! Blessings 💠❇💟❇💠
I’ve never heard of these so I’m glad I watched this! But seriously, those wooden wall hooks? Who’d a thunk? My BOLO is vintage West Bend slow cooker / crock pots. Specifically the rectangular ones with the separate griddle. I discovered this long before reselling because I personally bought one. I had used one growing up and loved it. When the one I had died, I went to eBay to get another. Once I started reselling, I found a couple and looked them up. Yep! Still selling well! About $30-50 depending on the model. Last one I listed sold in 2 days for $40 plus shipping :)
Love it! 😊🙏 Thanks! You did a really great job with this video and completely blew my mind about the accordion wall hooks!!!! Hahaha I have at least 5 of those in my garage right now! Cha ching! 🤑 I would have never known or ever even thought that would be a flip like that! THANKS AGAIN! 🌬💕💕💕💕💕
My whiplash items are any that look Midcentury or Made in Japan! Also figurines of bunnies, squirrels, cats, owls, dragons-if they have a certain level of cuteness! Unusual S&P shakers. Original watercolor art! Love your videos! I look forward to them and watch every day! 😄❤️
Perhaps you covered this in a previous video but I'd love to hear your thoughts on how you price your items on ebay. For instance, another youtuber I watch lists everything at .99 at auction (I don't necessarily agree with this) but perhaps she knows something I don't. Do you sell everything at auction or buy it now? I'm fairly new at this and exploring all the different ways of going about it. Thank you for your channel.... I'm learning so much!
Hi I don’t sell online...so weight not so much an issue....just can’t pass up crocks....can be countertop to the big (I think they are pickle crocks) Just love the look of them! Leather Horse collars, leather with bells...pretty much anything Equestrian...thanks for sharing😊
My grabs are a little different from most, I look for treadmills $30 or less I repurpose these for usually a couple hundred bucks and always brand name tools.
Family Bibles from the 50s - early 80s. Find them at thrift stores and estate sales for $3-$12. I've sold several for $50-$75. Key - check that presentation and family history pages are blank. If not don't bother.

I see them often is it worth it?
I just watched this video and the next day went to an estate sale, found an Eric Javits hat for $4, thank you!
Did you sell it, and do you remember for how much?

Old perfume bottles even if they're not full but have an interesting shape.

I bought a Pee Wee Herman talking doll in the Bins, and sold it for $39 . I always look for vintage, collectible items

I picked up 3 Casio out of the $5 bin last week.. already sold 2 for $50 each.

Uncut costume sewing patterns do really well for me
You’re killing it with amazing content! Kirks Folly costume jewelry, vintage Halloween and animated Christmas decor are my beeline items!
Mary Kirk Kelly ceramic vegetables. I found them by accident and they sold pretty quickly.
I've bought Jim Shore items and I'm keeping them for now
Just found you and you are a wealth of knowledge! Thanks so much for sharing and I will definitely subscribe!
Metal works - cast iron - or other metal sells very well for me for some reason.
I'm not a reseller but LOVE Eastern Orthodox icons. Have found quite a few at thrift stores.
My grabs are a little different from most, I look for treadmills $30 or less I repurpose these for usually a couple hundred bucks and always brand name tools.
when you say repurpose do you mean you make something else out of them or just fix them up and resell?
