In this video I’ll be taking you along with me for a week and show you everything I crocheted as a small business owner.🧶☀️
I worked on restocking a lot of my bestsellers from my recent markets. Also I finally started apllying to some fall and winter markets and was struggling with the application processes. Finally I also got to work on completing a custom order for the cutest little bunny. 🙌

Loving your videos! Just happened to come across a video of yours. When you talked about farmers markets not taking handmade vendors, my jaw hit the floor. ALL of my summer markets have been farmers markets. In my area, “homemade, handmade, or homegrown” is what is allowed at farmers markets. I’m located on the border of Ohio and West Virginia in the US. Maybe that’s why. I always sell well at the farmers markets because the kids that get brought along with their parents that want produce or homemade bread see my booth and almost always gets something from my booth since mine is usually one of the very few kid friendly booths 🤣 My next Farmers market is August 9th so I’m market prepping right along with you! Hope your next market goes well!!
Oh wow I wish it was like that for me 👀 I’m located in southern Germany and over here farmers markets are only for produce and locally made consumables like cheese or meat. So for me it’s honestly been pretty difficult to find any summer markets 🫣 I only have a single one in August but my market season will definitely pick up in fall that’s when a lot of craft fairs happen over here 🤭

Regarding applying for markets and waiting for replies: If they didn't specify that it might take x amount of days/weeks to reply or to definitely NOT contact them to inquire, I'd call or write after two weeks or so. Some organisers are a bit chaotic and that call may make the difference between getting a spot or not. And I don't think they would take your spot away just for daring to contact them so you basically have nothing to lose. Look at it this way: This is not just them doing you a favour by giving you a spot. You also provide income via your booth fees and bring high quality items which improves the overall atmosphere of a market. So they also benefit from you being there.

It definitely makes sense to me and I’ll call them next week ☺️🙌🏼 (since most of them still haven’t replied 🫣) thank you for confirming my suspicions I also think calling might make you stand out from the rest of the vendors and can only do good 😅 even if they reject me I’ll know sooner and have more time to apply to different markets

It can be super frustrating to apply to markets and wait. I’ve had some let me know right away and some have not gotten back to me for a few weeks or more. I think it doesn’t hurt to send an email or call. Thank you for another great video.. I love to crochet and watch your channel🏝️

Thank you! I still don’t have any markets secured yet but I think I have a good shot since there aren’t a lot of crochet vendors in my area. I just went into panic mode when one of the markets I had been looking forward to vending at had already closed their applications 👀🫣
We go to our local shopping centre who has a handmade event once a month for a weekend. If yours doesn’t do something like that it’s worth speaking with the manager about doing it, you have guaranteed footfall and they will benefit from their patrons having extra footfall if they advertise well. Also it’s indoors so no problem with weather issues xx
Ohh that’s a great idea! I don’t think any shopping centers have anything like that established already but one of my neighbors works in the management of shopping center nearby 👀 I’ll definitely tell him about this idea and maybe we can figure something out 🤭 thank you!

Our weekends are usually around the weekend or weekend after payday as most uk jobs pay monthly and also they try to tie them in with special holidays like valentines, mothers day, fathers day, Easter etc with special crafty tables and treasure hunts during school holidays. It’s a great way to attract people to the centre and perfect for people like us who want regular but not weekly x
