I just gotta say thanks man. I'm just getting into tekken and trying to learn how to use a fightstick at the same time. And having someone walk through it like this makes a hell of a difference
Hey man I’m almost 1 year into playing on fight stick (Qanba) Obsidian after getting into Tekken for the first time beyond playing it as a kid, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. Combining growth in Tekken skills fits with my personal goals and feels like a progression arc, keep at it!
@@2000Doriyas Tekken is an extremely rewarding game when you dive into it. The progression will continue, though how quickly you improve and get better at it will depend entirely on factors such as time spent on it, quality of time spent on it, etc.. etc.. but all in all KEEP IT UP MAN :) Glad to see people being enthusiastic about it.
@@2000Doriyas thanks for the encouragement! I'm using a razer panthera myself. It's probably been at least 8 years since I played in an arcade and it's definitely hard building up the muscle memory, but damn fun none the less!

Currently learning Bryan in T8 and it’s also my first Tekken so I appreciate the content. Ik this is T7 but I figure the ideas can be applied in T8 as well. Would love an updated video 🤘
I'm so happy for these guides, crazy thing I Lee and Bryan are almost alike other than the fact that Lee wants you to come to him while Bryan wants to push you away or keep you out, thanks for this man, keep up the great work :)
This feels like the most useful video for learning how to play Bryan. The fundamental video is good, but this video does a better job at organizing Bryan's moves at different phases to manage his neutral game.
As pure Bryan fury for years this video is very useful even for veteran like me. One thing I can see is good tool to add after 3+4 that is safe is qcb 2 to hit confirm into 4 or even better to bait out a CH on 4 after block of qcb2. Because of such delay-able property of the 4, it is a great string tool to hit confirm or annoy, time vary and CH fish. If opponent is smart enough to duck the 4, do qcb2, (opponent ducks after blocking qcb2 to duck 4), qcb2 hit confirm into4. They will probably will rage quit very soon after few of these mix ups
@@PeterYMao I have been using qcb2, 4 as my main mid for long time. It has range close to f4, 1 and it crushes high punches once in a while. Its a great tool to punish whiffs since it's safer than f4'1 on the block and with dash soccer kick after qcb2'4 can lead to 60+ damage
I’m just starting off tekken 7(but improving kinda fast) and I’m definitely putting time into Bryan. You my sir are my sensei lol ty for all the hints and tricks to this character. You definitely gonna help me beat my rival.
nice! im byakko bryan but I never utilized the high crush property of northern cross until now. i just used it randomly when i was in crouch. nice vid!
@@PeterYMao yeah one thing more people really like to start ducking bryan when they see his ff animation as they expect a mach punch or mach kick. this is where you can use 3+4 as you mentioned or while running 3 (works at mid range well if f,f,f are executed fast enough) which gives nice plus frames
@@spear9137 Yeah, the only reason I don't mention f,f,f+3 is that I feel like there is enough things to worry about with Bryan that beginner's don't need to spend like 2-3 hours trying to get down the iWR perfected. But I totally agree with you. :)
Thank you for another great guide bryan expert! These videos really helped my bryan pressure as I usually resort to predictable pressure after a few matches :)
Don’t worry man. I do the same thing too if I autopilot. Just gotta start watching opponent and start figuring out their tendencies. But again that’s hard if you don’t know all the moves in the game
Thank you for sharing your expertise, Peter. The detail and organization of your presentation is phenomenal and I keep coming back to review your videos even though I’m orange rank. Keep at it, brother!

@@PeterYMao What other characters have a similar approach as this? I am a scrub and have a hard time dealing with pressure against most characters. I usually play alisa and have good luck with her but I'm trying to branch out a bit.
Now really, that hard work you have put in those guides should be honored bro, it is really excellent made, and youre teaching it very well btw. gonna study all of those!!👍👍
Thanks lad! I appreciate your time and effort put into this. Very insightful. It made me realise I'm not conditioning my opponent enough and I need to take it chill on 3+4, I whiff it too often because I get baited. On the topic of FF2, do you think the armour activates kind of late? Way too often I try to stuff my opponent with it and end up getting punched out of it.
Hey no problem man. I make these guides to help people out. To answer your question on the armor for f,F+2... get ready.. The attack comes out in open play in 16 frames if you do it perfectly. From block it is 14 frames to come out. In reality most people who do f,F+2 probably have it come out in ~18 frames. The armor activates on frames 6-12 from when you hit the 2 button. Which means frames 1-5 and 13-14 there is no armor. When you are getting poked out it is most likely during the early frames. I suggest using this attack from range 1.5 to 2. This way there is more time for the armor to activate
just something I mentioned in my taunt video: you can also try to bait out some attacks with taunting at range 2. the risk is almost 0 snd you can influence the opponent’s timing without whiffing too much.
Thanks Nighty. Yeah I am aware of this, however I wanted to keep this video series more towards the beginner side of Bryan. I definitely will cover more taunt stuff in future :D
Great great great video, I'm eating all these informations! I think that could be cool (in the future, when you want, and if you think it's useful) if you make some matche analysis! Watching JimmiJ for example, I just understand how difficult some combo may be, or how good he is to put in struggle enemies, but all the stuff about strategy are a little obscure to me. Anyway congratulations and thanks for your time and knowledge sharing
Trying to wrap my head around how to apply this thinking to my own main despite not fully understanding Bryan's tools or why my own character's keepout tools are classified as such...if you think it'd be worthwhile, could you make a generic intermediate-level tutorial video about keepout that goes into this kind of depth in a way that's more accessible to noobs using other characters?
Not all characters excel at keep out like Bryan does. Some characters that do are Lee, Jack, Feng, Master Raven, Noctis. As of now off the top of my head, those are the characters that excel at keep out in my opinion. Unfortunately, I can not go into every single character on how they play as it would take me a million years. Though, I do play to do something with other characters in the future.
This keep out strategy is nice. Can you please make an analyzis video on JJT vs ArslanAsh at WSOE 7 ? That match was so good and I keep watching and analyzing it to improve my gameplay but I think I can learn a lot more if I were to watch someone more experienced with bryan analyze it.
This whole keep out to keep out gameplay enforces the opponent into doing things you will exploit later, isn't this conditioning? This is pretty nice that you mixed it in with the gameplans.
when i feel like i'm playing like shit i always come back to your guides bro. i'm struggling with taunt after 3+4 normal hit i cant connect the taunt on tech roll bot, i'm using the triple taunt tecnique u said in other video any advice?
Man I've watched this video a bunch yet I have trouble remembering these concepts and applying it all in game. Anyone have tips that might help with this issue?
Stop focusing on winning, focus on 1 thing which is your gameplan. And only focus on that 1 thing. Beginner players tend to have trouble multi tasking many things, so start with just working on keep out for now. And then work on other things 1 at a time, and never focus on wining. Focus on improving.
@@PeterYMao yeah I've been doing more keepout lately, helps solidify it. Question, do you feel it would be valuable for me to go through my movelist and categorize moves and strings in terms of game plan type? I understand it will take some time on my specific character.
@@benjimack7681 Pimp Dat Hutch. Would you mind joining the discord so that this discussion isn't like a 10 paragraph discussion back and forth? It's really hard for me to keep going back and forth on TH-cam comments.
Fatman Android if you have good reaction speed and the magic 4 combo down that would be good keep out. But it is not range 2 keep out more so range like 1ish

Great idea Dude Man.
Very helpful..thanks
You're welcome!
This whole keep out to keep out gameplay enforces the opponent into doing things you will exploit later, isn't this conditioning? This is pretty nice that you mixed it in with the gameplans.
You could consider it as conditioning yes. It's part of Bryan's mind games really.
thanks, nice video
Thanks! Hope you enjoy!
Hope you start making videos again, Peter!
I subscribed to your channel.

You're welcome :)

Running opponents(if whiffed) forward +3

It's really hard for me to keep going back and forth on TH-cam comments.
what am i supposed to do when my opponents back is at the wall?
B4 is your friend, but Im sure Peter will talk about it in another video...

Content tip: Bryan vs other characters
Great idea! You should do it!!! I’m sure you would get lots of views!!
Great video, but you forgot magic 4 my friend. But the video is helpful nonetheless 🙏🏼
Yeah, true. I did forget it >.< hard to remember to include everything :(
Magic 4 combos are supper hard man, nonetheless, viable tool. Would you consider it as keepout?
Fatman Android if you have good reaction speed and the magic 4 combo down that would be good keep out. But it is not range 2 keep out more so range like 1ish
nicuu thx bro
No problemuuuuu
