The coach made a difference between Rio and Paris! Lang Ping used 11 players at different stage to test for the best combination. The guy at Paris used 7 and wrong substitution at the wrong time! A pity in Paris.
Land Ping is a great coach, but lost the Gold with the USA team in the 2008 Olympics against Brazil. The great difference between 2016 and 2024 in my opinion, is that 8 years ago, all the Chinese girls were playing in China, in a far less difficult championship, and Land Ping had all the opportunity to practice intensely with them to create that all-powerful defense that was brought forth against the famous Brazilian strikers. Not the same with Cai Bin in 2024.
