  • This was my day in 20minutes!! We worked 6 hours on the FINNBREEZE Finnlines ship. We needed to switch cranes to unload+ load the back of the ship. After that we continued loading with the Liebherr STS Crane.

    Joris this is from the old guy in Toronto Canada.
    I enjoyed this video to the most and watched every minute.
    Could see every thing that you were doing and why.
    watching your ground men doing the corner locks.
    guiding you to the drop spot where you couldn't see.
    thanks so much for such a great video sir.

      +cat Thanks for watching Mister Cat! Yeah that was a talkative Shift, that was my Foreman telling me what to discharge and stuff. I don't make timelapses anymore, I speed up the videos so you can hear the machine sounds and talking.
      Just finished? I just started my shift one hour ago :)

    How do you know where to put which container?

    • @Container_World
      @Container_World  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Through radio communication. Few people have Papers and they kwow where they have to be loaded.

    are union orders to guys for each crane it sucks that you guys don't order 2 guys for the crane that's why you're working two cranes at one time but it is what it is

      The top screen shows a view looking down the ropes as the load can't be seen behind the ship's funnel. Bottom screen shows information about the crane, weight of the load, boom ange and probably other stuff like engine temperature and fuel level.

    What is the purpose of this ship? It does not look like a container ship only...

    • @NICKTHEGAMERGAMING
      @NICKTHEGAMERGAMING 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is a ConRo ship, a mix of container ships and roro ships, 15:00 you can see a ramp with cars going in and out

      Jakub Dubovský
      this ship is designed to carry cargo containers cars tractors and excetra and these kind of ships are called ro-ro ships and they use them here in the United States Matson container has one and Pasha has one as well and they moved a lot of military cargo containers on top and then they put all the military cargo in the bottom of the hole trust and believe me you can move a lot of cargo with this kind of ships

    • @Container_World
      @Container_World  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jakub Dubovský it is more like a ferry taking some containers on deck. They also roll new machinery, trucks and Cars on it. Like a floating car park.

    when you were unloading some containers 2 guys approach every time , what is their job? another one , what is all those cars going in and out of the ship and some staying in there ?

    • @danielrose1392
      @danielrose1392 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The guys walking around place or remove the twistlocks. At 7:25 you can see the guy on deck removing the twistlocks, at 9:10 you can see the two on pier removing the locks from the container bottom.
      At 0:28 you can see him lift the twistlock bins.
      I don't know the specific purpose of the cars, but I assume it's how the crew comes on bard and stores all their stuff. Safety gear, first aid, tools for brocken locks, some food. At 1:05 you can clearly see, this is a combined container and roro ferry. You can simply drive on it.

    • @nativeafroeurasian
      @nativeafroeurasian 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielrose1392 as far as I know it's called a con/ro ship.

    • @nativeafroeurasian
      @nativeafroeurasian 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cars and trucks, I assume are loaded onto and unloaded from the ship. For the cars on the container (/main?-) deck I agree to Daniel Rose' assumption.
