They did a good job of humanizing Freddy in this game. One of the best moments is what he says when you go to Bonnie's bowling alley. "I don't come up here much anymore. I miss him." It's really sad hearing it.
Im either thinking Bonnie (or this version of him) was once part of the band and maybe he was destroyed/recycled or this is somehow the same freddy from the first or other games and just thinking about him.
Edit: nvm bout that "destroyed/recycled" bit. Cuz now I know Monty replaced him.

Honestly, Roxy's death was probably the saddest. Mainly cause she seems to be the only one besides Freddy who retained her personality (mainly her crippling insecurity) , which makes you feel just a bit bad for her

A robot so sentient, she developed mental health issues. Come to think of it, Chica had an eating disorder and Monty had anger management issues.
It's even more sad that the fact that after her boss fight, there's actually a voice line of her crying.

@@daguiacosta4175 Animatronics arent hard to stop. They are no where near as mobile as a real human. Can push them over and you win. Not like they are real combat robots or anything advanced past a basic can opener. [Note ive not played any FNAF game and going off real ones]

gregory KNOWS these are freddy's friends and KNOWS that freddy cares about them - and yet he shows no remorse for destroying them at all. if anything, he seems a bit happy about it. that line specifically just FEELS like it was said with the smallest of smiles.

To be fair, Roxy's the only destruction that was actually an accident since she's the one who quite literally jumped in front of a moving go kart. The rest, however, were completely premeditated and were just stretched to not hurt Freddy's feelings or to make him worry as Gregory harvests the other animatronics.
Monty’s was kind of his fault as he went to push it back up. He could’ve jumped out of the way, I think.

Throughout the games, every protagonist just stands there helplessly as the animatronics kill them. And then there's a kid named Gregory, completely manhandling Chica to get what he wants. Probably the most badass thing I've ever seen in the entire series.

Unlike the previous two upgrades, Freddy knows that there is no humane way Gregory simply got this. He’d have to tear her apart, which he did, and he knew.
With Monty, he is clueless.
With Roxy, he is concerned.
With Chica however, he is doubtful.

Roxy's expressions seem to be more naturalistic in the cutscene, like she is genuinely surprised. This makes it really creepy and even amplifies her character for me.
Yep, just further proves something is terribly wrong here. A machine shouldn't be "surprised", so something is really wrong, either an AI that's become self-aware or a soul trapped in a machine body.

I was surprised that Freddy never actually betrayed Gregory even after realizing the parts were from his friends. I expected him to be upset about it and then he would attack Gregory being more powerful than the rest combined.
That honestly would've been a great final boss fight the hits all the right notes
Yeah and since they were hacked it could've been explained that it was the upgrades that introduced the malware in the first place, so by upgrading Freddy you inadvertently cause him to turn hostile too

I mean, he understood that Gregory had to defend themselves. He knew they were not themselves, and they could probably get repaired.
I respect Gregory's right to defend himself by using lethal force against the animatronics trying to kill him, but I do feel for Freddy being concerned about them.
I feel for the animatronics whose personalities (and maybe souls?) got wiped and/or corrupted to the point very little of them remained but an endo skeleton with no safety protocols.
Yeah he’s a little kid with his life on the line but he still has empathy for Freddy and his care for his friends. If you’ve seen the endings where we get a glimpse of Gregory’s “home life”, I think that helps explain his ability to go as far as he has to. (If you know, you get what I mean. I’m just being vague to avoid spoiling.)

I think we can all agree these Glamrock animatronics are the most humanized of all, showing actual emotions. Also the fact that they don't have such robotic moves as the other ones in the franchise. They are not really possesed by any child soul, wich makes them the less creepier and scarier of all in my opinion
yea their more of an AI now instead of depending on strictly codes which is where the other animatronics down fall was because
they had no real self awareness like the new Freddy and i think in the first game they relied on the indoskeleton so the children would have an easier time then

@@stoneoceanmitski568 not necessarily. Phone guy for at least the first 2 games gives you tips to try to survive. And the company doesn’t want more disappearances to screw up their rep anymore. The animatronics are the ones attacking the night guards just because.
Yes, they are programmed to walk around at night but that’s so that their servos don’t lock up and stuff like that. They aren’t programmed to kill nightguards really; only to not recognize a person after hours since no one is supposed to be there.

Something interesting is that Freddy seems to be closer to Chica than the others, like the fact he recognizes immediately her voice box, or that Gregory could distract her by using the pizza bot or even the fact he knew about the party pass that she kept in her room, I think these are subtle hints that neither Roxxy and Monty are the original animatronics of the pizza plex. It's already mentioned that Bonnie was decommissioned and replaced with Monty but I also think that Foxy was decommissioned as well. Which lead me to think where are they? Were they destroyed or Vanny hid them? Freddy did mention that his friends were down in the secret pizzeria, maybe he meant Bonnie and Foxy???!!

You can see Chica check on Freddy in the opening scene when Freddy falls over so they are are definetly close

I'm pretty sure destroying the animatronics was something Scott knew his fans wanted, but he added something to make the fans feel bad while doing it, which was giving the animatronics personalities. Destroying them doesn't just feel like you're destroying robots, but destroying actual people with emotions.

i actually expected more of a twist, like they all were functioning properly and Freddy or Gregory was manipulating the scenario.

Freddy doesn’t recognize the upgrades he gets from Monty or Roxy as theirs until Gregory brings it up, but immediately knows the voice box is Chica’s.

Well you can't see your own eyes without a mirror. But he didn't regonsised Monty's hands which made me think he's not close to him as he thought.
Chica's one seems kinda tragic to me. The rest were looking for the action, but Chica was just nomming on some leftovers. Heather's voice conveyed the absolute shock and fear of someone who is, well, going to the fridge at 2 AM to get a snack to only be socked by a stranger who came out of the dark. I'd shit myself if I were in her place.

Yeah man, like Roxy made me sad during the boss fight but… Chica’s scared noises when being pushed and trying to jump for Gregory really gripped my heart and I felt so awful for her
I love gregory, he just says things carefully so he doesn't put freddy in a bad emotion. This kid straight up choosed carefully his words like: "it was an accident" in roxy's boss fight, when he clearly did trow that car on her, or like "she accidentally was smashed by a trash compressor" when he was the one who make her go to the place where the smasher was, AND pressed the button that activated that compressor. Or how he just doesn't tell anything to freddy when he asks about the claws, just makes a little hint about mongomery, and freddy just looks at him with doubt. Is just so fun to me how smart gregory is, he knows that freddy doesn't need to know the truth.

@Space Vatnik It's a decent game. It has a good story and a great soundtrack. There are some cringe parts though. 7.8/10 for me
I do kinda wish there was a "pacifist route" to go with this genocide, though. Like, somehow managing to get rid of the virus in the other Animatronics, so that they join Freddy in protecting you. In exchange, maybe Vanny/Vanessa get much more active, or maybe even Afton gets involved.

I understand that many feel sad because these animatronics had real personality and probably were just corrupted against their will by Afton. But it is worth keeping in mind that Gregory had no other choice and was completely justified in defending himself against them

@@JDaTopo not necessarily we already know that the these robots are likely going to get scrapped and not repaired if you read the messages in the game and look at all the endings it becomes apparent that the company will not repair them
They replaced Bonnie with monty and in one of the endings they replaced Freddy with a glamrock Mr hippo which I know is a joke but it still shows that they won't be repairing them just replacing them
It's still no comparison to an actual human child that's certain but it still sad to know that the company will very likely just scrap them or dismantle them for parts

personally i think chica's was the most brutal, monty's was the shortest-lived "death" out of all of them. (yes ik he crawls after you again)

Chica's was easily the most brutal, even if Monty sustained the most damage. We watch her eyes pop out of her head ffs.
Chica was the kindest-acting of the 3 anyways, Roxy and Monty have voicelines where they're demeaning Gregory or telling him he's worthless. Whereas Chica always was in the mindset of helping a lost child (even if her intentions were misguided due to Vanny). She only has one voiceline where she whispers " _Gregory!_ " aggressively that's a little iffy.
Chica's destruction was *the* brutal destruction. She literally fought back and screamed as she was being crushed.
Monty's not the most brutal, but he gets second place. It was pretty agonising to watch him fall to his doom and scream, but not as agonising as it was to see Chica trying to free herself and being crushed while screaming.
and even though I like Roxy, it was so funny her eyes going after being hit with the cart LOL

I think he knows but he still cares about them if he could directly help them he would. It hurts him that they are harmed but he understands that there's something wrong with his friends otherwise he wouldn't be protecting Gregory from them

And his programming showed that "protecting" Gregory from the other animatronics would make him feel safe and happy.

Because he very well knows that they'll kill Gregory on the spot, but he doesn't want to admit it. It's also why he didn't want Gregory to harm them. Since Freddy thinks they could be redeemed somehow.
And since Freddy was programmed to easily trust people, it's rather tragic.

@@paodocinh I may have gotten the wrong impression from a video with all the endings but the one with disassembling vanny kinda seemed like a panic move, when someone is panicking or having adrenaline (from fear or excitement), they might act in a way that can be costly, at the same time Gregory might not have seen any immediate option to get out of there...though Gregory and Freddy were planning to surprise vanny...

Translation: I lured her into a trash compactor by putting her favorite food in there, turned the compactor on, kicked her into the machine, and watched as her head got crushed!

I think that could be chalked up to a "canon" order of taking out the Glamrocks
That being:
1. Monty - because he's straight up the most agressive and Gregory taking him out could be considered self-defense
2. Roxi - because her death WAS an accident
3. Chica- because she's the only Glamrock Gregory attacks preemptively and ,by that point, Freddy making the connection that it was her voice box makes sense
The reason he doesn't care that it's from Monty is because he was like a third wheel? I dunno how to word this correctly, but Bonnie was taken out (because Fazbear Entertainment thought Monty would be so much better), and was replaced by Monty.
It was then revealed that Freddy was also going to be replaced by Monty.

Chica possesses him for a moment and Gregory thinks that Freddy is running up to him like always, but instead he kills him
I love this game, don't get me wrong, but something about Chica is just.. horrifying to me. Like in the first chase scene, how she just pushes past the boxes mindlessly like she was just dead set on getting Gregory. And her constant kinda slouching, like her top half isn't as functional- she seems broken already, before gregory even crushed her. Same with her voice lines- they don't have personality, being the least personalized and most robotic of all of them, like saying the "this area is off-limits" stuff. She doesn't at all resemble her cutscene self in the beginning and when she was crushed, not really. It's flat out creepy. Meanwhile freddy, roxy and montgomery all have personality and a sort of life in them, in both the way they move and speak. It's all off-putting, ain't it?
for me not really. all of the other animatronics seemed really bitchy and overall flat out rude to Gregory unlike Chica who for me seemed like she wanted to actually help him find his parents and get help. might just be my mother-figure issues

Can we just appreaciate how brave Gregory is?
-The kid probably is an orphan because as you see in one of the ending, he sleeps in cardboard with newspaper as blanket and the fact he's ignoring Chica by saying: "Your parents are looking for you." And his parents might be dead and he's been coping it for a long time.
-He destroyed the animatronics by using brains and brawls.
-He's even wandering around the closed mall in the dark by only using Flashlight, Freddy's Camera and Laser gun.
-He knows how to operate Freddy by listening to instructions while we used to struggle how to handle the systems in Sister Location.
-He even can drive a van in one of the endings despite being an underage kid! Probably around 10-12 years old.
-Don't forget that he's infact is just a regular kid. Not like the Aftons (William and Michael) who used to be humans and later get corrupted by greed and power and their body get scopped to animatronics. He and Henry Emily are the two humans who brave enough to kill the animatronics. While Henry burned down the place, Gregory killed them directly and stole their body parts. And this is the first time we see animatronics got killed in main screen.
There are many theory's that Gregory is not what he seems to be, He himself probably don't even know it and there are plenty of hints thrown here and there through out the story such as what Freddie says "you look different" after he got Roxy's eyes.

I am sad for Freddy because he lost all of his friends and other than that I am sad for the animatronics’ deaths because they were made for giving children a good time and being fun.
Did he though? I mean, I can only assume that with AI that advanced, There's probably an hourly back-up of the memory cards in each animatronic. The good thing about machines is that you have the possibility to upload their "brain" and memories, so even if one gets destroyed you can have the same "person" in a different, maybe even better body

My take on each of their…. Demises. I don’t want to say death as they didn’t fully die but still:
Roxy’s was kinda an accident as we did try not to hit her. She jumped down cause she saw us driving and the insecure part of her that needs to be better than everyone saw that we were trying to one up her, and she wasn’t having that. We didn’t mean for that to happen, and I honestly feel so bad when I hear her crying cause I mean I can’t imagine how difficult it is for her since she was already so insecure and now we just made it worse by almost destroying her.
Chica’s; yeah we did that. I mean, Gregory gets the excuse of her trying to kill him constantly but still- that wasn’t really an accident.
Monty’s…. Well… he was trying to save himself, which I respect, but it would have been smarter for him to get out of the way. He is pretty strong though since he caught and held up that container for a couple moments-

For me, he also appears often in the West Arcade. Not always, but often. Only thing is that he's unresponsive 98% of the time. He only screams if you flash him, or he jumpscares if you walk straight into him and touch him.

These boss takedowns channel the full and combined energy of every single "I wouldn't just let some dumb animatronics kill me, if I were in the game I'd-" comment posted on every single FNaF video ever uploaded, all at once.
I felt bad for Roxy and Chica, but not Montgomery because he seemed to take some sick pleasure in hunting you.
I have played every game in the FNAF series (not counting this one, because I haven't played it yet...), and somehow, even after all the jumpscares and frustrations of beating the games, THIS one game makes me feel bad for the animatronics, even making me wish I could help set them free of Vanny's control. It genuinely hurts me to watch them get destroyed, knowing that it's not their fault for trying to kill Gregory. It's all Vanny's doing.
I blame it on the animatronics actually looking like cute cartoon characters this time, and having real personalities, instead of the uncanny valley abominations that starred in the last 7 games.
Fun fact several studies showed that people do feel bad for inanimate objects when they drop them and stuff.
But if they can talk back and have a personality it's even worse! XD

You could do the only 3 star ending. It's the hardest but it means Vanny is dead and Chica, Roxy and Monty are unharmed and Freddy isn't given their body parts.

It’s a shame there’s no second option to reprogram them, heck who knows maybe the endings would’ve been different depending on if you manage to reprogram them all or just one of them.
I think in the Three Star one, it’s at least implied they are reprogrammed because you destroy the virus that had infected Vanessa and the Staff bots at the very least. While they are still messed up, their programming theoretically should be fixed.

@@enenrax In the previous games, the animal mascots are programmed with exoskeletons which it's explains the mascots act like robots in terms of movements and expression.
The mascots at the Pizzaplex look more expressive and less janky looking compared to the previous ones. They are still robots, but they are more AI than exoskeleton animatronics.
Well, FNAF 3 takes place in 2022, so Security breach is certain to happen in a future with newer technology.
I love that all of these were ironic. Roxy loves racing, she was destroyed by a car. Chica eats a lot, she was destroyed while eating. Monty loves destroying things, and he well- was completely destroyed
I wasnt initially planning to kill any of the animatronics. I was aiming for the 3-Star ending but I made a point to avoid spoilers for the story and missions beyond those that ending required. Eventually I tried to reach the Princess Quest II game, but was unable to. So I took a look at a guide and it said something about needing to get rid of Chica first, so I thought: "Ohhhh well." So I crushed Chica and fought my way back out. Then I went and unlocked the second game in the arcade. During that time I was actually getting annoyed with Monty, but as it turns out Monty is untouchable after going to Fazblaster route. So I turned Roxy into roadkill... Quite easily. Gave the eyes to Freddy, and then the Endgame began...
In the end, Freddy, Vanessa, and I walked out together and watched the sun rise... together...
As for the other animatronics? Guess Monty will be the star now. Chica and Roxy will likely get repaired, but without the virus they won't be (as) evil anymore.
Honestly, I'd have rather smashed up the security bots more than anything else. Those were what kept jumping me the most and it wasn't that they were scary. It was that they were SO ANNOYING! Also at least a few whacks to the head of the Moonbot would've been satisfying.

I feel like Monty is supposed to be the first one you attack, next is Roxanne and then lastly Chica, now I’m not 100% sure if you either attack Monty or Roxanne first as Monty attacked Gregory, so Gregory took Monty down in self defence, while Roxanne’s was really an accident, the only reason I think Gregory “canonically” attacked Chica last because out of the 3, she’s the least to worry about, and Gregory deliberately attacked her, meaning he probably knew he could take Chica down because he had already done it to Monty and Roxy, or his mental state had depleted a bit due to him witnessing the “deaths” of Monty and Roxy, so he thought to himself that he could do the same to Chica, kinda like how a murderer goes more insane the more people they kill. However based on Freddy’s reaction, I feel like Monty was attacked first because he didn’t know the claws belonged to Monty, yeah Gregory never told Freddy that they came from Monty, but Freddy must have had the benefit of the doubt because I feel like Freddy knows Monty too well, so I highly doubt Freddy didn’t recognise Monty’s hands, Gregory telling Freddy about Roxanne’s eyes must have told Freddy that these claws most likely belonged to Monty, and Chica’s voice box was just the icing on the cake

I just finished the game and the lore and everything is freakin crazy. I love everything about this game, especially the strangely nostalgic aspects such as the sun/moon portion and the lobby. I thought forever that if it’s gonna take this long to release, it better be good ( more in the sense that it will be good, not in the sense that I’m doubting it) but I still can’t believe it’s finally here, after 2 or so years of teasers and apprehension, we finally have it, and it didn’t disappoint, not even the lore aspects. I thought that it might be a little light on lore (a lot sense we are talking about fnaf games which are famous for the lore) because of the fact that scott only helped and a lot of it was the company that made it (Scott still helped a lot of course) but there was a fair amount of lore, my favorite being the golden chica collectible from the box for no particular reason. I also feared that there would be no aspects of the original game, since the series kind of veered away from that after the original trilogy (count fnaf 4 if you want, u consider it a hybrid/crossover between the point and click fnaf games to the a lot more interactive fnaf games. I think I might make an entire review on the game at some point, but for now, just this comment. Also if you are curious, I usually pour the games into a sub series. The original sub series is the first 3 games, then we have the more interactive sub-series, which I’d say includes definitely sister location and security breach, and maybe the pizzeria one (can’t remember the full name) and maybe maybe help wanted, though I consider help wanted more of a UCN type game as it includes A lot of different things and stuff, but anyway, I’ve been typing for way to long, so I’m just gonna post this. we love you Scott!

Since the animatronics here are way more humanized here than in the other games, with voices, animations, and actual personalities, it feels way worse to break them down.
