Key of D just focus on the Tonal center which is A in this case. Reminds me of high school, we had a talent show coming up and the band wanted to play fire on the mountain from the Grateful Dead. At this point in my guitar playing career very average compared to my peers, so what was I to do but consult my guitar teacher. All Rich said to me, was Fire On The Mountain two chords B to A. At this point in my development we hadn’t gotten to modes yet, but we were doing a major scales up and down the neck Pentatonics and stuff. Long story short he told me technically it’s B mixolydian but for now all you gotta remember is it’s in the key of E and when you’re playing your solos try to hit the B in A notes whenever you can and just listen for the right notes. Worked out pretty well I have to say I was having a ball up there.
@@brianhester8918 That' was the exact song in 1986 I had the same realization about the modes, and I was like "but there's not even and E chord in the song?!"
@ man, that was the same year I did that in the high school show. Wow what a coincidence. Yeah, that’s a great little progression right there. I love the TH-cam jam tracks and they actually have a fire in the mountain one. It’s awesome. Keep making those videos. They’re great.
A Mixo is in D Major. The A chord is Major, so if you can still think of this as a chord progression based on an A major chord and not worry about Modes. If you take the 2 half steps out of the A Mixo scale it's an A Major pentatonic
There are freaking ADs in the MIDDLE of a backing track??!?!?!? It would be a great track if the ads didn’t wreck it. Can’t you control putting the ads at beginning and/or end of track?
I don't know if this is true in general, but I seem to get ads less often if I'm logged in with a regular unpaid Google account than if I'm not logged in at all.
You truly have some of the best jam tracks around. This one's great...and I really love the Zappa ones!
Thank you! I really appreciate that
This sad day when I'm broken and crying I feel I'm the best armonica player.

G lydian scale sounds good to me , in my own opinion
The G Lydian scale is the same notes, but you most likely will keep resolving to the A note, hence A Mixolydian
question if mixolydian means 5 wouldnt this be in d major. im confused that the titla says a major. thanks for youngreat tracks im a subber

Since there's no fingerboard chart.. turns out mixolydian is a B minor scale, focus on the A note
Same as D Major. You can play A Major pent too. A min pent will give you the blues sound.
@@LeadGuitarWorkshop A minor pent and I like to throw some A Dorian in there.

So sorry, you are right. I believe they are all removed by now. Thanks for watching and thanks for letting us know.
@@LeadGuitarWorkshop awesome, thanks, I’ll check it out again!
