Nicole Fairman that means nothing unless you want to spend the time and money to actually sue someone over the contract. It is better to collect an upfront non refundable deposit. For clients that require travel, the deposit should be more than enough to cover flight and hotel

If it was a buddy pass, the person doesnt pay for the ticket. Those are free tickets given to family and friends of pilots or other flight crew. I used to get them all the time when I was a secretary to an independent doctor. Her husband was a pilot for jet blue and she’d give me buddy passes to use for free. It was really awesome. So she didn’t pay for your ticket lol Edit-she was definitely lying about “buying” you the ticket. It was obviously given to her for free. That’s why she had no problem saying she was going to “buy a 2nd ticket”. She never bought the first or 2nd one, lol. It sounds like she was waiting for someone to give her a buddy pass

Getting a buddy pass has that warning of the flight being full and she should have prepared for that and prepared you for it. She was cutting corners at your expense. Am a make up artist as well based in Nairobi, Kenya. When booking wedding clients ask as many questions as you can especially your departure. Cz once their makeup is done and the whole entourage is making their way to the venue they care less about anyone else. 6 years in this business, I ask as many questions as I can. Also dont ever book another client especially if you had an out of town trip. Even if you are sure of your departure arrangements anything can happen. Cz lets say you had space in the flight going back then it happens there's a flight delay and next flight is following day the impact would have been the same. Sorry about your incident. The things make-up artists go through at times is so sickening
Bridal gigs are the worst. Especially when you get flown out. I'm from London, I did a wedding gig in Spain. Bride bought me a ticket that arrived 11pm the day before but "forgot" to book accommodation, even though she was contracted to provide accommodation. Then booked the flight back from an airport 5 hours drive away. And the flight had a 15 hour layover in Germany. When it should have been a 2.5 hour direct flight to London. On top of that I wasn't provided and food for the time I was there. It was a complete was of my time and energy. People are CRAZY.

Am a make up artist as well based in Nairobi, Kenya. When booking wedding clients ask as many questions as you can especially your departure. Cz once their makeup is done and the whole entourage is making their way to the venue they care less about anyone else. 6 years in this business, I ask as many questions as I can. Also dont ever book another client especially if you had an out of town trip. Even if you are sure of your departure arrangements anything can happen. Cz lets say you had space in the flight going back then it happens there's a flight delay and next flight is following day the impact would have been the same. Sorry about your incident. The things make-up artists go through at times is so sickening
Bridal gigs are the worst. Especially when you get flown out. I'm from London, I did a wedding gig in Spain. Bride bought me a ticket that arrived 11pm the day before but "forgot" to book accommodation, even though she was contracted to provide accommodation. Then booked the flight back from an airport 5 hours drive away. And the flight had a 15 hour layover in Germany. When it should have been a 2.5 hour direct flight to London. On top of that I wasn't provided and food for the time I was there. It was a complete was of my time and energy. People are CRAZY.

Ridic! The same way she quickly sent you the 'second booking' is the same way she could have sent you the 'first booking' that never existed! Boy, you were kind to her because she is too out of order, people have big eyes for good things but don't want to pay the cheque! She will get hers, because you don't cheat people and go Scott free.
I think I would have outed her on socials and tried to get compensation some how

Also, I think regular MUAs should use the same contracts that the celebrity MUAs use because they be so inclusive of everything from years of experience that they don’t be leaving no terms unturned. Also, no matter how you would’ve reacted, God was going to continue to bless you. You were not in the wrong and your emotions were very valid.
