    Great idea regarding led sinkers if unable to hammer out or mould. 👍

    Use heat when you remove the IHS, you have to deal with the silicon dies than you can recover the solder which contains 10 to 20% indium, bit only the soldered IHS`s non soldered is only thermal paste

    Pete, if you gave them a quick boil in HCL first would that get rid of enough Tin, so it wasn’t an issue with the gold deplating ?

    Hello what if you just filter the gold and just melt it insted of refining it ?

    another good video, why don't you filter the sulfuric acid and reuse it multiple times? instead of loosing it in the water

    • @prospectorpete
      @prospectorpete  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I do sometimes. Ive even made a video showing me recycling it.
      But in this case I needed to put it down the drain because our bath doesn't drain and ive been putting drain cleaner in all sinks and drains

      i dont know dorry , im australian . i suggest you look in your local hardware store for drain cleaner , some contain sodium hydroxide and some contain sulfuric acid . otherwise you could do a search for chemical suppliers near you
