@wizardowlgenius7186 I actually have the A7M4 and looking for a second body, travel and for wildlife, can get that extra reach. I am debating between A7Cii which is a smaller A7M4, for $2200, or go for the A6700 (better grip, better rolling shutter, 4K 60 no additional crop so 26mp vs. 14mp for cropping the 33mp) for $1400!

Love the review, but I really enjoyed your choice of music in the background, while still hearing the rustling of your windbreaker. It brought me back to the time I was in Olympic National Park and the beautiful PNW.
I've been looking forward to this review! My answer on "FF or APS-C?" is Both! I use an a6600 and it's pretty difficult to give up on the extra reach for the better low light performance of a FF...so I want both. I want an a6700 and an a7CII because I like the small form factor and the better auto focus. The EVF is good enough, one card slot is enough, 10 fps is enough and even a 24 mp sensor is enough. If you do it everything right, it's crazy how much you can crop a 24 mp image. All these are good enough and make enjoying wildlife photography possible. Thanks for the review! Ohh, and the E 70-350 mm lens is amazing. I love it. Perfect light weight setup!
Bought the A6700 last year but haven't tried it out much in favour of my full frame bodies. The camera was mainly intended for Macro use (focus stacking capabilities) and for video with a budget entry to 4K 120. Now, as the majority of the pictures I take are wildlife and the full frames has been "welded" to a 600mm f/4.0 GM with 1.4x TC the swap to the A6700 didn't get me exited until I decoupled the TC and mounted the camera directly to 600 mm (900mm f/4.0 Eqv). The results and general look of the images of birds in action was for me very pleasant surprising. I now have 900 mm f/4.0 without TC as previous 840mm f/5.6 on full frame. I have not seen any videos of matching the A6700 with the 600 GM and are planning do to one in the near future. Thanks for a interesting video
@@pentagramyt417 correct but I want to keep the ISO levels low and still have the reach. If the TC yields ISO3200, it will be ISO1600 on F/4 competing with the FF f/5.6 with the TC and 840mm. Have some more testing to do
Great review Olle and nice footage, I recently sold my A7IV and bought an a6700 after trying it for a few months. I was looking for a light setup for travel photos and wildlife and with the Sigma 1.4 primes for APS-C and the Sony 100-400 I can have all I want in a small and light package 😁 One thing you may not know regarding when the Sony a6700 (as other mirrorless) focus on the background instead of the subject is that in the a6700 (in my Sony a7IV or Sony a9 this option don't exist) you can activate a manual focus override function that works all the time, this way, anytime you need to readjust focus while in autofocus mode, you can turn the focus ring and the a6700 changes automatically to MF until you stop moving the ring, is a great way to readjust focus manually when the camera needs a bit of help
The a6700 is just all around an almost perfect ASPC camera, I just wish it had a slightly better LCD screen (1.8m like the XS20) and an second card slot. If it had those 2 things, I'd honestly use it for almost everything. It also has the highest dynamic range of any ASPC sensor, it's like 12.3 stops at iso 100, which is extremely good and in video it's 14 stops. As for the longer filming, Ulanzi makes a $30 fan accessory for the a6700 and it extends the filming time in 4k60 to almost 2 hours.
Yep, second card slot and that's all I could really ask for from a camera, I think. Especially now with some fast lens options like the 27mm 1.2 or 75mm f1.2 and the Sigma f1.4 range.
Amazing breakdown for someone that wants to get back in the game. my training camera is ancient with no features and i couldnt care less about bout comparisons and tech-spec. I looked at it as I like Sony but am going to replace my G9 with a G9ii because as a wildlife photographer I need good autofocus, high fps and rolling shutter that isn't bad

The odd number a6000 series (6700, 6500 etc ) focus more on video upgrades while retaining most/all the photography features of the previous model. With this in mind I cant wait to see what the a6800 brings us. Better IBIS, new evf, new joystick, 2 cardslots and maybe even a new higher MP sensor and an increase in fps. If sony can nail these things the a6000 line will be insane.
Ive got setup a6700 with 200-600 and its great for wildlife quite light i can do handheld af is really good sometimes struggles with branches but like others. Most importatnt its quite afordable set
Hey Olle 👋🏻 I was wondering what makes you like the Sony a7iv more than the a6700? I'm currently using the a6700 with the 200-600 but was thinking about getting the a7 iv. I find the low light performance on the a6700 just isn't great for me and other little things that I'm not keen on - but I wanted to get your opinion on it seeing as you've used both for wildlife photography 🙂
If someone was to consider an upgrade/sidegrade from the A7IV to the A6700 for it's smaller size, would you say the AF in various conditions makes it a good replacement or would you not recommend it?
I have the a7iv, which is considerable older in AF design. Would like to get the same AF as the a7RV plus the occasional 4K 100p video, so this would be perfect. Especially since I will be using the same lenses (100-400 and 200-600) for this camera, same batteries, same SD cards.
Hey! I love your videos, would it be possible for you to do a POV wildlife walk with the A6700 and the sony 70-350g? I'd be interested to see how you get on in low light situations. Greetings from a fan from Germany!
I always get amazed with your shots and storytelling but man, i instantly fell in love within a few seconds with this one. It is just something else, something special i feel. 🤍
That's a great in-depth video and cover almost all the topics related to wildlife. I wanna know how's sony doing with firmware update with this a6700 ?
imho as Wildlife cameras come about for me, it would go in this order. A6700 < A7CR < A7RV < A1 But for general day to day + some decent Wildlife All APSC cameras newer than a6000 < A7Cii < A7iv
Great video. Sony need to upgrade almost all viewfinders to 3.7k dots. Can't believe Sony still do only 2.4k dots even A7CII and A7CR with more Megapixels. I sold my A7III because was the same seams like photos are always out focus.
I’m so unsure what to do. I used to own a7III paired with Sony 200-600. Loved it. I want to get another setup and I’m torn between a6700 and the a7III again. What would you do? I’ll be shooting everything. Wildlife, hiking, pets, portraits. Video and photo.
Thanks for the info about using the touchscreen to AF. I have an a7cii and have tried using the screen before when using the elf but it was very inconsistent and ineffective. I don't think I knew you could change the touchscreen area. It was set to Right 1/2. However I just changed this to Right 1/4 and now this works consistently and efficiently - a game changer for me.

@@Thomasmcse I understand. I am worried about the depth of field apsc cameras can produce, but at the same time i don’t do professional work. Tbh money isn’t the concern here. Just that i don’t want to splurge money on body, i d rather invest that in an extra lens.
great video mann.
Appreciate it!
You can use a magnetic iPhone cooler, to eliminate overheating issues.
Good revew!
Sony A6700💖soon, for now A6400!!!
9:00 somehow i love that noise effect 😅 ❤
Love your work Olle, Thank you so much.
Hey Olle 👋🏻
I was wondering what makes you like the Sony a7iv more than the a6700?
Man, the north looks so good on camera
very well made
also because of the music choice, the flute ahhh like an Indian classic
That's a great in-depth video and cover almost all the topics related to wildlife.
I wanna know how's sony doing with firmware update with this a6700 ?
Amazing review!!
Thank you so much!!🙏🏻
I would love to see what type of images you could do using the sony a6400 that would be amazing... great video as usual 👌
what's your best settings for A6700 I just got mine, but I love your photography style, can you make a video of your favorite settings on this camera?
imho as Wildlife cameras come about for me, it would go in this order.
A6700 < A7CR < A7RV < A1
But for general day to day + some decent Wildlife
All APSC cameras newer than a6000 < A7Cii < A7iv
Great review!!! Can you please review the A7CR for wildlife
Great review!
I've got a couple of Canon r6 for you to try out 😉
WOW! Amazing Sony A6700 🫰📸
Thanks for the info about using the touchscreen to AF. I have an a7cii and have tried using the screen before when using the elf but it was very inconsistent and ineffective. I don't think I knew you could change the touchscreen area. It was set to Right 1/2. However I just changed this to Right 1/4 and now this works consistently and efficiently - a game changer for me.
I literally came here from Peters channel! Nice content you got! >;))
I ended getting an a7riii for the megapixels 10fps full frame for cropping in on birds at an amazing price.
Hi as it’s an E mount what lens is that you have ? Looks like the 200-600 but that’s FE ?
Hi for your opinion.. a74 or a6700 is good. For photography and a bit of videos. Planing to pair with sigma 70 200.
Beautiful camera 📷
Классное видео! Спасибо!
IBIS too is very important for wildlife photography.
I'm still hesitating between this and the a6400 just for hobby
Hey Olle, I love your videos and I was wondering if you could do a video with the Sony A7CII.
fr id love to see that also
Are you sponsored bu Arcteryx or something ? You have a LOT of different jackets from them :O :)
Been looking at that brand but its hella expensive here in Denmark.
Haha I wish, I really enjoy their clothing. But no, they are not sponsoring me :)
@@ollenilssonen Yeah they arent really cheaper in Sweden compared to Denmark which is really strange, cause most clothes are so cheap in Sweden compared to here.
But thanks 👌
