I was raised in Alaska, my dad was born in Bethel in 1944, my grandfather was there during the Japanese attack and helped train the people of that area to protect their land best they could. It’s strange how America never talks about that much, these people died and suffered and were forgotten if you ask me.

I was lucky to be on the mainland, north of Bristol Bay. My advice would be to use the driftwood to make a quick structure next to some of those boulders; this would secure your tent better. A pistol to make noise, maybe a flair gun. . . something to keep the cattle away. [Or, have steak every night, lol.] Never knew there were cattle on the Aleutians. There should be Musk Oxen, instead, as they'd have no stupid bears or wolves to contend with.

After going over active volcanos, they fly you into a large crevace where you are surrounded by waterfalls above, below and completely around you. The most amazing thing I've ever seen. When i first watched this earlier today, i was taken aback, amazed & I felt the tears welling up in my eyes. I said to my family, that there are some places in this world, that are truly unknown globally & are quite underrated, possible even very underrated.
This is one such place, but gosh, what amazing & utterly breathtaking natural beauty abound!!
Such beauty abound, that I felt the intense desire to rewatch this (which I'm now doing), just to take it all in & come to truly appreciate the true beauty & majesty that is Mother Nature.
This world of ours, our blue planet, is so stunning & precious, so we all have a moral obligation to take care of it, so much better, than we've done so thus far.

I especially wanted to explore the geyser areas on Umnak Island. The closest I ever got was being on a fishing boat that was anchored in Hot Springs Bay for several days, waiting out a storm. On the other hand, I have been all the way to the west end of the Aleutian Islands, albeit on a boat. So much beauty there, but always out of reach for me, except for Dutch Harbor.

Thank you for an excellent programme - so thankful your background music is peaceful unlike many nature programmers where the music is so overwhelming that I just stop watching a program that otherwise would be very interesting.

The photography work was indeed exceptional, but the historical research was not! A big mistake was when they state the the church of Ascencion is the oldest Christian structure in North America! Of course this is a mistake, there were dozens of othervChristian churches elsewhere in North America prior to that Russian one!

Lovely trip! Congratulations! Many years ago, I used to go backpacking with a friend, but it was in California. Your trip reminded me of the beauty of nature. We never suffered cold, like you did. The best adventure we had was in Death Valley, which is a very hot place. Totally different to Umnak. Thanks for sharing. Take care and best to you.

Viktor, you paired stellar videography of a spectacular place with good storytelling and factual knowledge. You kept your ego out of it and focused on the place, but still gave us just the right perspective of what an intense adventure it was for you. This truly is a tremendous video. Thank you for doing this place justice; not many other creators on TH-cam can make place-focused content this special. Because of your video, and even though you speak a language I don't understand, I have an organic understanding of Umnak, well beyond what I could ever research on my own accord. I'm happily subscribing to your channel. Bro, WELL DONE!

I love the community spirit of the people who live in Nicololski. I live in Chicago. The people here are mostly nice. They pretend to be all hard but they're just afraid and cautious. In Umnak they can be themselves which makes a huge difference. GOD bless them. I hope some of their generosity rubs off on us.
