Sir he is talking about no of owners
E.g. you have purchased some 100 shares each of rs say 10
Now that stock went up say 500rs per share
And due to increased value of share people will buy less no of shares
So it may happen that your 100 shares will be purchased by say 20 people because the total cost of your holding is 100*500= 50000
In past you were the single person holding 100 share now considering the increased value and purchasing power of average person those 100 shares may end up with 20 people each holding 5 shares.
That is nothing but overownership
