    I test rode one. I ordered one.
    In October she'll be mine.
    Oh yes, she will be mine! ♥️
    Expensive?
    Yes, buying one IS expensive.
    BUT I don't own a car and this will be my main ride all year round. Maintenance and charging is literally zero cost for me.
    Short range?
    Yes, compared to a bigger, heavier battery or ICE bike definitely.
    BUT it has ENOUGH range for MY needs/short commute and to have a blast in the evening.
    Of course more range would be preferable but (again: for me) not at the cost of more weight = less fun.
    This bike is a nimble hyperdrive beast that just rode out of a SciFi Anime and I love it.
    No, this might not be the best bike for YOU but it is the PERFECT bike for ME and I can't wait to get it.
    Great review! Eating up all FXE content until I get mine.

      Hey im kinda in the market rn for one, but just to clarify you got the fxe? Hows it been ? I was looking into the regular FX with the 7.2 . Its lighter and just a tad compacter, what do you think? Appreciate your excitement for e bikes :)

      @@codezalo5773 Yes, I got the FXE in January. Had to wait a bit longer. Did nearly 3000km on it so far. Can't even start how much I love it. It's brutal, insane and so so much fun. Had to ride it in custom mode with just 25% torque set the first days when it was cold and wet cuz I easily got it to spin even in eco mode. Not feeling so enthusiastic about the FX: Larger wheels, no LED Headlights and the design is a bit too utilitarian for my taste. Really loving the clean futuristic looks of the FXE. I customized mine a little bit with small led blinkers and proper bar ends. I made an Insta account for it: @das_fxe

    Once the rider safety courses incorporate these into their fleets people will understand what it’s all about. They are a blast in town. Perfect for commuting. Why not have both an ebike and an ICE bike if you are worried bout range. The ICE rig will get dusty while the ebike runs errands and hauls you to work or school.

      That's the way. My son rides a Super Soco TC Max 125 equivalent electric and it's perfect/more than enough for the city. With his A2 license he'll get a used 700ish ICE for longer tours.
      I ordered the FXE as my main commute and afternoon fun ride and will ditch one of our electric scooters. It's kinda insane the the FXE is A1/CBT legal and theoretically could be ridden by a 16yo in Germany.

    I wish our batteries were more efficient to where they have more range than gas bikes and charge quicker than filling a tank! That would be amazing. I love how this thing looks and how lightweight it is and the fact there is no maintenance other than brakes and wheels basically.

  • @Beakerzor
    @Beakerzor 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    it's well under 1/3rd the cost of gas motorbikes (over the total life of the bike). It only takes 3 years until it's cheaper per mile, and it will last 7 times longer. Imagine a bike that lasts 137 years with no maintenance. Car owners have to be hammered over the head to just understand the concept of "cost/mile", but bike owners should be able to understand this better. My Model 3 Tesla, for example costs 5 cents/mile, and the cheapest ICE car I can find, the Honda Civic is 15 cents/mile. And that's just over 15 years of use. The Tesla will last 107 years by all statistical historical numbers and real life data. Electric things just last FOREVER.

    Now with new paint! It's a great shame they didn't update the bike to have DC Fast Charging (50 kW minimum) or have a slightly bigger battery to extend the 40 miles range on the highway.
    To me, looks are a lot less important than those capabilities, especially at a purchase price of more than $11k.

    • @SnowskateDe1
      @SnowskateDe1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where would you put that 50kW charger and it's cooling? I didn't know they made it shoebox sized these days.

    • @TheNone724
      @TheNone724 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To have fast charge ability you would need minium battery voltage of 200V and using igbt inverter Zero could still use their current motors. Also you would need serious battery cooling or lfp batteries that can tolerate higher temperatures better. My company starts to build electric bikes but it would be cool to build affordable electric motorcycles with fast charging capacity.

    109nm... not too overpowered. As a fellow rider, with 25k+km on my two bikes (beginner friendly CB500T-PC32 96' (47nm/43kW) and TDM900-RN18 '07 (63kW/89nm)) and test riding Zero FXS (no FXE at dealer ) + Zero S (buddy exchange), i would strongly advise not to start on one. For me its like e-scooting without a helm or increased protection. On paper the FXE has only 33kW, but in reality this a e-cooter and my old starter bike a rusty pedal-bike. worst case: you are somewhere flying between two trees aiming at the third or squirting a wet lane marking (or worse) towards, hopefully, an open field. When you have experienced driven a scooter, maybe.. but the thrill is there; at the throttle and in your wrist. Please dont fool (squid) around, even if its only for a year buy a 250/500ccm and learn the ropes and trials. A Twist of the Wrist on the nightstand helps a lot. besides starting with a smaller one and 'evolving' as a biker and through your bike is nice (and i jumped too), because its a whole(-some) trip to ride. Still i want a FXE for the dirt and building into an crosstourer. TLTR: ~power over 9000!. Ride safe, stay healthy and enjoy the trip =)
