Worked on it one year and half, first at the office, but quickly moved to field. I worked as minimum wage (normal in Portugal) and I stay long because of machines, work. Since then sometimes I fear some walls or other stuff I can see that was not well done.
Because having to deal with the very nature and need sharp insight and proper feeling of knowledge, Geotechnical Engineering is very much interesting as well as challenging field.
***** Good , i wanna take a Master in Geotech. Also , yes really there is a lot of chance to work , i work in Engineering studies company (ACES) , you can see AECOM , BECHTEL , Parsons , and CCC , and many others :) Good luck
Hey, guys! Want to join to your conversation. I'm a civil engineer as well, but I've been working for 2,5 years in geotech (last half an year in HUESKER Synthetic GmbH). And I'm going to take a Master in this direction. I've heard that there is a lot of scholarships Master Programms in Niderlands. Have you heard any data about it?
Excellent job by PR committee of ISSMGE! I will definitely use this video clip in my class. It will be very handy for explaining other people what geotech is all about.
Geotechnical engineering is a discipline within civil engineering that focuses on the behavior of natural geological materials in engineered systems.....
Yes is a great opportunity to do this job this is one of the things I did for the state of New York Department of Transportation geotechnical engineering Superior van opportunity
Hello everyone, I am a first year civil engineering student from the Philippines. I currently have a project which requires me to interview a licensed Geotechnical engineer. If you are willing to share your thoughts and experiences as a Geotechnical engineer feel free to leave a comment down below so that I can interview you through private message. There are only 4-6 questions to be answered. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!! 😊
There will always be a job for Geotechnical Engineer. They play a critical part in new construction. They are also needed for solutions to land failures. It's a great field. I think your background in geophysics could be handy when developing engineering solutions to a given problem. I hope I was helpful Good luck!
Rey Coladilla If you have a Civil Engineering degree then Geotechnical Engineering is definitely a field you can work in. You should research the requirements. It's a fun field.
Isaac Ferguson Thank You. I am still deciding if I'm going to take Civil or Environmental Engineering. would there be a chance for me to have Geotechnical engineering if I would take Environmental Eng?
I am member of Bangladesh Society of Geo-technical Engineering. How can I get a membership of " The International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE)" ?
It's geology as it applies to engineering so it's both but more civil engineering since what you study in geotech has to do with the application of soil's mechanical properties
the best civil engineering branch i'd say.

Great concise video! I'd love to use it on the first day of my undergraduate Geotechnical Engineering course.

Proud to be Civil and Geotechnical Engineer

to be my honour of you, Geotechnical Engineering... I am a geotech in Indonesia

Many greetings from Peru.
Iam very intrested in geotechnical, i love this field.
Hi is any differency between soil engineering and geotechnical??
working on an art that is not visible in the eye of the public is sexy. i love this branch

Hi i'm from Bangladesh. Im 2 nd year student diploma in civil Engineering.
I am in love with this field.
You should check out the 30,000 underground Parrahub carpark.
What interesting scholar its my experience and my favorable science
Iam very interested in this field since my second year of the university

Excelente video!!
Pretty amazing how the structures like colloseum was built without much knowledge of soil mechanics
i hope i can be like this one day. pray for me :)
You a geotechnical engineer yet?
@@beasby1914 yup! have to study hard review many youtube vids for refresher--land that entry-level job!
Interesting science
This is awesome
Excellent
I would like to be a geotechnical Eng just I'm civil Eng in Somalia

Hey fellow, did you manage your transition to geotechnical? Geophysics is total ass right now, it's a disgrace.
