      Glad you enjoyed it! :D
      I just noticed they went from $1,800 to $2,200. :/ I'm guessing it was a supply-and-demand thing for LNS maybe.
      Still a really big fan of the 150A. But you being a maker, consider the Precious Plastics design. ANNND there's a gentlemen called "Buster Beagle" who makes a really neat injection mold press here on TH-cam. :D

      @@TheCrafsMan It is very cool to see the recycling movement enter into more toys from makers, that's something I've wanted to do for a long while. I just built up a Buster machine and while it's half the price of LNS, the shot size is also larger... so that's all around a good thing. Great that LNS has started offering a grinder since one of those has been difficult for me to source. Hopefully a more cost effective entry level solution presents itself (maybe a variation on that paper shredder Precious Plastics build - I've been a fan of them for a few years too!)
      One day soon hopefully we'll see plastic grocery bags turned around into lovely AND functional ROBOTIX pilot figures for the Crafsman space station.

      Love the Maker's Muse videos!!!! The buster Beagle 3D kit costs a lot less... a pneumatic conversion of these manual ones is pretty easy too, im doing it right now on my LNS150A. I did buy the BB3D 2 cu in kit recently too to play with, its really well made, but I'm concerned the 3/8" bolt may not hold up to the pneumatic pressure

      Same - I really enjoy learning about things even if I'm not expecting to do them myself. Resin, silicone, injection moulding, all these sorts of things are fascinating to me. I regard it as expanding my future potential options - if I come up with a project in the future that would really benefit from one of these techniques then I'll recognise it and re-watch some videos to remind myself how it's done.

    Would you be able to recycle plastic sprues from model kits for this? Always bothered me how all the plastic goes to waste and ends up in a landfill since it isn't recyclable in the same way that bottles and jugs are.

    • @TheCrafsMan
      @TheCrafsMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If those leftover bits are PS/Polystyrene, it is possible to re-use them. :) Not the most preferable, fume-wise, but I agree - it's bothersome for that much plastic to go to waste.

    • @jojocreatesmonsters
      @jojocreatesmonsters 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For sprues, you can soak them in acetone. They become pliable. I saw someone on TH-cam doing it for his warhammer sprues.
      For plastic bottles, especially HDPE plastics, you can melt it inside an oven (again saw this bloke on TH-cam doing it)
      Don't forget to wear safety gear by the way! Happy craftin! 😁

    Last year I ordered a t-shirt to the UK because I wanted to support Crafsman and all his work. I put a little note asking if it would be okay if I could get the Galaxy perler bead Makerbot. Because of Covid and Brexit, the shirt got stuck in customs. I messaged him and Crafsman sent out another. That one got stuck too.
    Since I only bought the t-shirt to support Crafsman, I asked him not to send another and that it was okay. I'd just wait.
    Fast forward to noticing his new shop and with new pins. I bought one.
    During a particularly bad week, feeling really sad and low because of personal stuff, the pin arrived.
    With the shirt tucked inside.
    And stickers.
    And Tony's.
    And, right at the bottom, a silver-grey Makerbot and a galaxy-coloured one.
    I keep the lil robot on me and whenever I feel bad and I just take it out and think about kindness.
    Thank you, Crafsman. You made a difficult month so much better.

      Charlie, this comment means so much to my wife and me.
      We were bigtime disheartened when we learned the package was held up.
      Interesting how it worked out...
      My wife sent that 2nd package out feeling bad that we didn't have another galaxy glitter bot to include with it, seeing as how it was stuck in that first package.
      But the 1st package eventually bounced back, SHORTLY before you ordered from the new site, and we were able to include it with that order. The timing on all that was really neat.
      THANK YOU SO MUCH for being such a wonderful person. We sincerely appreciate your support and kind words.

    Minor correction: That's not a recycling symbol, it's a Resin Identification Code: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resin_identification_code
    The plastics industry copied the public domain recycling symbol (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recycling_symbol) to make it seem like all plastics are recyclable. The symbol does not indicate if the plastic is recyclable or not, and many aren't

    Retirement home employee: sir that's where we throw our "sharps" the medication jars are in that dumpster over there.
