Ryan, I completely agree with everything you said. Can you please give the team a pep talk? They all need to hear this, including Coach Mainieri! I love my Tigers but I'm finding it difficult to get excited about attending and watching games.
this is the new "there is no rebuilding year" talk. Sad that our athletic department keeps needing these pep talks because are coaches cant do it. Thanks for keeping it real and bringing the heros of our school to your show to speak the truth.
I been saying that all season. No passion to win. Paul is too passive. He needs to remind them of Warren Morris and what he went through. He is a champion.
As an Arkansas fan I totally agree. He simply spoke truth. It was weird seeing Arkansas whoop LSU. Not to be disrespectful but for 2 of 3 games, that's what happened. Winners find a way to win (like LSU has done for so long) and losers find a way to lose (currently, and how Arkansas played in game 3 of the CWS finals). LSU will bounce back but it will take that energy to breathe life back into the team. Ryan was spot on!
We are such a streaky team. We just barely beat freaking UNO at home. That is pretty pitiful for the preseason #1 team in the country. We have 4 people in our batting line up hitting over 300 and another 2 hitting between 280 and 300. We just cant put it all together right now. We have the talent to make it to Omaha. But, I have 0 faith in us winning the CWS. I watched UCLA play 3 series. No way we beating them. They won every series that played this year, and always at least 1 game of the series is a complete blow out.
I am sure I will be soundly criticized by some for what I am about to say but I believe with all my heart it needs to be said! Harry Truman had a sign on his desk in the Oval Office which said "The buck stops here!" Just as true today as it was then. I have become more and more convinced over the last few years the buck stops with Coach Paul Mainieri! In my opinion, it is time for him to move on. In fact, I wish he had taken the Texas job when it was offered because it may have been better for both LSU and Mainieri. Sure, Mainieri recruits good players [who wouldn't with the program and facilities LSU has] but there's more to the game than just recruiting good players and having good facilities and a fanbase. I have watched an increasing number of ways Coach Mainieri has found to lose important games over the last 7-10 years: Stony Brook, Houston, UCLA, Florida, etc. With the recruits LSU attracts it will always 'win' ball games and make the playoffs but when it counts the most LSU finds a way to lose. THAT IS A COACHING PROBLEM! It bothers me greatly when I see the way Mainieri talks about players in public. In the USMC we practiced "Praise in public, criticize in private" as the best way to handle our Marines. I believe Coach Mainieri deflects blame from himself by using his players as a shield. Eventually it reaches a point the players no longer believe or have faith in their coach, and I believe LSU is there right now. Naturally, some people will use the "Who will we hire who's better?" argument BUT that is NOT the issue. If you cut yourself with a knife you don't say, "I need a tetanus shot!" NO--FIRST you stop the bleeding THEN you have your tetanus injection. LSU baseball is BLEEDING--STOP the bleeding then worry about a new coach. It will all take care of itself--the LSU program will bring good coaches in.
@@mildbill222 I hate to break it to you, Mild Bill 22, but your reply clearly shows YOU did NOT READ what I said. 1) Recruiting: WHERE did I say 'national' recruiting? I said LSU brings in 'good' [note: I did not even use the word 'great' but only 'good'] recruits but did not specify from where! This is not to mention the fact my comment has nothing to do with recruiting. IF you had actually read the comment you would know this! 2) Paul Mainieri: The whole point of my comment was I advocate firing Coach Mainieri! So, naturally, I do NOT think he is the "...be all of coaching and recruiting..." In fact, I think he is far less, and IF you had READ what I wrote you would know this. Next time try to actually 'read' [as in 'understanding' the written word] a comment before you reply.
Everybody around here saying, well at least they played hard and didn't get swept. Reality is, they lost another road series, dropped another 3 spots in the rankings, and unless they win the SEC Tournament they going on the road this postseason. They can still make it to Omaha though. They have the best roster in the Country.
Shit starts at the top. The same guy that doesnt care about winning mid week games same guy that recruits this new weak bread of player should be on the hot seat. Paul lost "The Want" time to move on.
Look guys, most of years LSU is better than every team in the conference. The truth is though, there's prolly four maybe five team's better than y'all this year. It's fiiinnneeeeeee
Entitlement is when you expect things to be given to you. Ryan is saying the exact opposite. He's telling them to have some heart and go out and earn it or at least go down swinging.

Well damn......right on Theriot!! Couldn't have said it better myself.

We really need another one of these
Couldn't agree more. LSU is totally unmotivated.
Ryan Theriot Thanks bro that was needed to be said! Stay the course and keep the faith brotha.
Moscona has been the biggest “midweek games don’t matter” voice around.
I been saying that all season. No passion to win. Paul is too passive. He needs to remind them of Warren Morris and what he went through. He is a champion.
Well said, although I wouldn't call it a rant....I'd call it the TRUTH!
Fast forward to 2022. Looks, sounds like today's team.
Awesome stuff! I watch this for breakfast everyday now👍
That was good and I couldn’t agree more. It’s time for a change at the top
“They wear #15 on their back by the way”
Best line in the whole rant
AMEN AND PASS THE FREAKIN AMMUNITION, RT!!!!
CARL THE CAT HE S OUR MAN. HE CAN DO IT.

Subtle 'I can wear the same clothes from 20 years ago" brag. #1 is not the hero we need, but the hero we deserve.

Why isn't this guy our head coach? He gets it.
The LSU football team must have watched/listened to this rant. 2019 was the 15-0 NC year.
This 2022 team needs to watch this. Embarrassing so far.
He's 100% correct

I really hate to see grown men cry on TH-cam.
Shut the fuck up
@@johnboychuk1467 bahhhhh haha.
He is totally crying right now. It's a game Bruh
Sounds like entitlement to me. Some dudebro is pissed that LSU can't win every game and that Arkansas thinks LSU is Texas now.
Entitled, no, realistic yes!
