I liked what you were saying about people doing anything to fight their demons, the way I look at it, I think we were meant to, whether by nature or a God to face struggles and learn how to battle those demons. Problem with today's world is, there's so many snake oil salesmen willing to give you a weapon to fight those demons, whether it be medications, street drugs, fast food, online addiction, gaming to excess, etc., but they're all just cardboard weapons that only work for a little while, but eventually they rip, or get wet and disintegrate, and you're left defenseless again. Not that people before modern technology didn't struggle, but I think they didn't have as many ways to numb the pain, they had lean on each other and be more of a community that thrived together or died together type thing. Sadly I think we've lost some of that, and society sure could use more community and less snake oil salesmen if you ask me. Does that make any sense?
