Want a see a shield fighter struggle against these disgusting builds? You're in luck!! Stop by the Board Meeting, a blocking-focused livestream, starting Monday at 1pm ET :) th-cam.com/users/livevxqadKBPPQ8
i hadnt played back when multiclass was in the game, so at first the event had me excited. i had fun for a day, then i couldnt bring myself to touch the game much at all afterwards. Wipe can't come soon enough
MC was a crapshow then, and since IM changed nothing in the interim (except adding Druid), low & behold it's a crapshow again! hah! I wish you great luck in the new wipe this weekend
That's why this mode is enabled for a week, because in a week everyone will get bored. In fact, I like the mod, the first few days new builds were opened, I like builds. By the way, in gear less than 25 you often meet different builds than in high gear, although I think it's not a matter of much time for low gear either.
yeah, I'd normally spend all my time in the 24/124 lobbies, but I've got a stinky stick and been trying to practice for raids in the uncapped lobbies.. it's cat city!
I'm hoping they bring a scaled down version of multiclassing or skill tree back. I don't know what that would look like, but I'm a huge sucker for customisability that doesn't cost me gold lol. But yeah, this meta is... Unfortunate to say the least. Been trying my heart out looking for any scraps of weapon melee combat in the dungeons!
sampling 1 perk, or 1 skill from another class might be tolerable, but will also require IM to make some balance adjustments more broadly, and I don't trust their ability to do that right now!
maybe people feel the normal game is already broken with certain skills/metas, so MC just makes it easier to exploit & break the game further.. it also highly favors experienced players and might not be the most fun for people just learning the game
@@YourBoyBlinn It is and it always was a hardcore game.. and i think its fine the way they handle it. The people who start the game new are anyway addicted as fk so they are hyped with everything you throw at them ;D. And knowledge was always a gamechanger in dark and darker. I don't know if people suggested this before, but start blocking mobs in a fight(if they happens to be there) just to proc counterattack for speed boost, you can turn their presence to your advantage. Thanks for great content 🐱
great idea! but I also hate having mobs around for PvP.. my little peanut brain has a hard enough time as it is, and I find it too easy to lose track of them in the player combat :(
some crazy kits going around but a kit that got me 2 named weapons, Barb with smite, achilleas strike, robust, poisoned weapons, weapon mastery, and Ice shield. Super strong if you use rondel + cyclops vision crystal because the magic damage from the crystal will buff your poison and smite damage, great for brawling but even at 190hp still get 3 tapped by some panther with 55 agi. and I 100% agree with you at 17:01
I made a cool multiclass build for shield blocking, play barb, take shield mastery, robust, perfect block, rage, weapon mastery, berserker Build into dex, adventure boots, cloth pants, grand brig, leather gloves
I was upset to see multiclassing come into the game as I wanted this week to practice muscle memory for druid before this upcoming wipe, but I've still had some fun playing my own builds without paying attention to whats "meta"
yeah I've have flashes of fun, but that's only because I'm experienced enough to adjust my play vs certain weapons & skills.. less experienced, newer players dont have that luxury and I imagine just get rolled, which is not a great end to a season that saw the most new players join the game ever!
Soul collector Blood pact Fighter Warlock with a dip of Barb for Robust is my build, its really stupid! But I also rolled a rogue fighter with dips in ranger and it is beyond stupid
:/ makes me really sad to hear how much some people feel MC is a terrible way go for the end of the season ive only really messed around with gear in HR because ranger only gets better with more gear and struggles at low gear so i hadnt thought about that angle since i'd already blown through my kits in the last week of HR hopefully/maybe if they want to do this again in the future they'll put it on the test server next time because i can see a lot of merit to testing class combinations if they really want to implement it in some way in the future (which i really hope they can do because stealth ranger is my absolute favorite)

The panther doing more damage per hit than you, faster attacks and having more health than you is absolutely broken. Panthers should be negative pdr and hp no matter what
Good thing multiclassing is a gimick now and is not formally part of the game. If they keep any form of multiclassing, it will have to be perks only, and some should be unavailable (slayer)
toxic panther was scary wicked haha, was fun dying a bunch. if im not tripping pretty sure warlocks shadow touch makes it so poison wep heals you lol it might work with rupture if so im using both those perks, protection from evil and then dagger mastery, spear, sword anything for the last perk or even counter to choose from i have backstep as a perk and smite on my fighter its fun an versatile
@YourBoyBlinn Why are you using the mace if you can never keep up with these super dagger rogues? I’m new to the game so I’m not super knowledgeable about all this stuff. Just wondering if you just like it or if it’s a build thing. Thanks in advance.
@@YourBoyBlinn oh awesome! I didn’t know that. I like that you’re a shield fighter. My friends swears by the long sword but I like being a sword n board fighter. It’s fun. Thanks for the quick response man! Have a good day/night!
Ok dude try out robust, potion chugger, swift and crossbow mastery with second wind and the barb roar that makes you run faster. You can get health back so fast and with base kit your at like 145 health
There are some fun builds, but who without severe balancing this should never be an addition to the game. It shouldn't be at all logically. Having access to abilities that cover for a classes weakness mostly defeats the purpose of having unique classes when some are objectively better. I have to admit that having Robust on wizard is great, but that doesn't mean it's healthy for the game.
Panther dmg is BS. Even if you're using a pdr build (60-70%) shit hits hard. Would be nice to hear your thoughts about opponents kiting after getting block (which in panther form you can see how painful is playing around blocks when people can just kite it out).
kiting after getting blocked is something I typically assume will happen.. it helps to have shield mastery to get the 50% action speed buff after a successful block, since sometimes I can hit them just as they turn to run :)
Kinda sad seeing so many players use the meta builds for gear that’s gonna be gone in a week instead of actually improving. Can’t wait to see them struggle when cheesing with unbalanced multiclass god-panther builds are gone again.
Brother I’m thinking the same thing 😂 I multiclassed wizard with my fighter so I have an ignited blade. But that just makes fighter more fun, I’m still gonna be a longsword bro when the new season drops lol
Ahhh i see now... you dont have the heals on your belt for access or immediate use because they glow hmm interesting. Idk how you would wanna play in the dark. It would make parrys alot harder... i kind of wish they didnt let torches just get picked up so fast or something lol. Very ratty playstyle. I like it... ima try it 😂😂😂

I feel like they made quite a few mistakes this wipe. Buffing Druids, I understand that Druid needed a bit of love, however it is THE MOST annoying class in the game right now to fight, and it needs to be toned back. Even before multiclass if they get in trouble they just rat and run through a door, or if they fight they transform into a bear/panther with ludacris health and super hard hitting attacks. Not nerfing daggers. Even before multiclass you had FIGHTERS running around with daggers. .. DAGGERS. A fucking class meant to be a slow moving high health class turned into a monster. If this doesn't show you how broken daggers are in the first place then I don't know what will. I also felt that Wizard was handled verrry poorly this wipe as well. Of course let's not forget multiclassing. This whole wipe was just a joke, fr. Toxic metas all around and they just completely ignored it all.
totally agree about the baseline issue with druids. that class has compromised the game in a way no other class has.. and agree the devs made another mistake with the buff late season. plus the issues with weapon mastery & plate daggers was never addressed. this was all before the MC dump that caught us off off-guard. feels like IM have let their reach extend way past their grasp and they can't keep a handle on many of the festering issues in the game rn. I'm hopeful for wipe, but given their track record (and ongoing sleep depravity) I'm not confident in their ability to iron out the game in a way that suits my personal biases (melee-focused and solo-focused)
bro your gameplay with the shield is inspiring, but the obsession with turning torches off is rly holding you back, you waste time mid fight instead of healing to turn them off in a closed room 😂, given your preference for ambush playstile, it is much better from my experience to let everything as it is, like at the 4 minute mark if you just hid behind the corner with lights on that rouge would have walked right into your mace, turning lights off is usefull sometimes, but the way you do it screams "hey i'm hiding here", no comments on the shielding part, i wish i was that good at blocking.
always something to improve! I'm personally comforted by the darkness and feel like it helps me play more confidently.. that IMO can be just as useful as a few additional hp in some situations. I also notice, even if my dark patch is super noticeable, that players will often still pull out torches to light it up -- which often translates to a timing/positioning advantage for me, even if that wasn't reflected in this video! thanks so much for your comment :)
Wow! Metas are so lame in games. Let me min max that sh*t so I can always win! Laaaaaaaame!!! No imagination or creativity in this world anymore!!! Sorry not sorry!😂 Keep up the good fight bro!
hey thanks very much! meta chasers are cringe, but I also suppose not everyone has time to experiment, or has the self confidence to stick with a playstyle they like but otherwise suffers when compared to the meta builds
