    Hi! I am so doing this! I haven’t even finished my temperature blanket yet because that one month made my blanket go wonky worse than yours🤦‍♀️…I was discouraged thinking I would have to rip so much out…but yeah! Thank you! What a beautiful border you came up with🤍 I just love your work!

      AWE! Thank you so much! You are definitely not alone. So many people ended up with wonky sides at the end of this project I just had to help save everyone's blankets. Especially after all of the hard work we had put into them. This was definitely a project made out of love and I hope it does create a happy conclusion to so many projects out there. 🤗❤️🧶

    I have my first scrap blanket, edges were horrible, I will do this to make it look between plus square it up, I will need to go in at least 5 inches. Mine is from not paying attention to detail. It was one of my first big blanks. Thanks for sharing this! God bless

    I really love the idea of creating an extra piece but I'm curious why you went this route instead of crocheting long rectangles and folding them over the edges? Is it just an aesthetic choice or is this level of complications necessary for a reason I'm missing? Because stitching on long rectangles seem much easier to me than making two yokes for the blanket... Admittedly it might just be that I haven't made a yoke project before, so this seems rather intimidating for what I was hoping would be an easy fix 😅

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gotcha! Ok, we can work with this! Start with fewer chains, reducing the number of chains you are making for each side of the blanket. Then, you will keep making rounds, building up the width of your border, until it covers all the sides! Give this a try and let me know how it goes. 🤗❤️🧶

    If my top and bottom rows don’t match will this still work? I feel like making the borders the same at the top and bottom when they have a different amount of stitches, will still keep it slanted and uneven? Like if I had 45 stitches on the top and 51 stitches on the bottom, and made my border the same, won’t the blanket still be slanted and uneven?

      Hi there! I see your concerns, let me help. With this "Cover-Up Blanket Border", think picture-frame with that paper insert on the inside. We are not attaching the border to the edges of your blanket, we are coming into the blanket to where we can make a rectangle shape hiding all the uneven parts underneath the border. Like cropping the image. The reason we count how many stitches are on the top and bottom of the blanket is to know if one side is smaller than the other. Then we know we need to focus on the shorter side. Once you have the dimensions of the cropped in rectangle you will start there and work to grow you border outward making it wide enough to cover up all the uneven sides. I hope this clears things up for you! You got this!

    That's more work than my blanket was!! There's a diff way; put a slip stitch into the front loop of each stitch down the sides then stitch your border into both loops of the slip stitch. There is a video on here for it, it's only like 4 mins long. Look for it!!

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I very much appreciate you sharing another video that is helpful for fixing blanket projects. This video is not for what you are suggesting. THIS video is for those blankets that have such significant concaves and convexes that no amount of blocking or regular border placement could possibly help it. This border is for those blankets that probably should have been frogged and restarted but people were to invested in the project and decided to just push onward. The blanket I have featured in this video is not a great example of that because my blanket doesn't show the significant blanket issues many people were asking help with. I just needed a blanket to put a border around to show how it's done.

    One question: how a rectangular piece can have 4 sides with equal amount of stitches???? Thank you for your prompt answer 🙏🏼🙏🏼

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! First, you may have a difficult time making a rectangle with 4 equal sides. That would become more of a square shape. The Blanket I made did end up looking more like a square because of the way I structured the Temperature Blanket rows and what I counted in the project. Obviously, in a typical blanket with only one stitch or pattern being used, you should be able to begin and end the project with the same number of stitches. As for the sides of your project, it is also typical to make one stitch on the side of and row beginning or ending with either a single crochet or half double crochet. You will typically make 2 stitches in the side of any row beginning or ending with a double crochet stitch. I say typically because, based on you stitch tension and the size of the yarn you are using, you may need to add or take away some stitches to make the side of your blanket lay flat.
      I hope this help! 😊🧶💖

    Won't this Make the blanket extra heavy??

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! It will ad some weight to the sides where we have doubled up. You could choose to use a thinner yarn to lighten the weight of things but you will need to adjust the number of stitches to work along the sides. I might switch it up and instead of referring to the number of stitches I would go off of measurement. 😊❤️🧶
