Wow, you went right past my parents/our house on the right at Kent Kangley and 124th at the 10:47 mark, where that orange road construction sign is that was our property our driveway was right there...when it was still 2 lanes...the city bought part of our property to make it 5 lanes with the turn lane...I love kent...now it isn't as great as it was, but still love it...I still live in Kent across from the Kent Station in North Park...It has changed sooooo much. Thank you for posting this, brings back lots of memories. Even Johnnys was still in Covington...We also lived in Timberlane for a few years in one of the brand new homes when it was first developed. I remember Sequoia was the closes Jr High to Timberlane and people would walk all the way to school sometimes. That is a long ways...

This one is my favorite. My family moved to the Seattle area in 1977 and we moved to Covington literally in June of 1983. I turned 8 later that summer. Watching this is like having a time machine. So much change the McDonald’s at Wax road wasn’t even built yet. All those houses on the road. 4 corners had nothing.😜

@@rickeyholmes420 I grew up in Covington. If someone had shown me this video with no context, I would've laughed at them for saying this was Covington.

Covington wasn’t incorporated until 1987 I think? So technically Covington didn’t even exist when this video was made.

It’s mind blowing seeing the roads you drive on 40 years ago

Just wow! I tell people Covington was just trees, well here's the proof! A trip down memory lane for sure. I remember the Johnnie's Grand Central opening. It was amazing. I'd like to see this same video going the other other way. Great video!

Omg I had no idea where anything was until I saw highway 18 in Covington. It’s sad that there can’t be a forest anywhere anymore. They have to clear it for something. Weird seeing hardly any traffic lights.

Man this was awesome to see. I grew up off Witte Road and I remember a lot of trees as a kid. It’s so sad to see how it’s changed.

I enjoyed seeing the things that are still the same, the log mailbox by maple valley, the billboard going down canyon road and the Wendy's all unchanged

There used to be homes where Wendy's is now...I have dreams of it, still how it used to be with the houses there.

4 corners was literally 4 corners with stop signs. I recognize a bunch of places. I would have been in the 10th grade at Kent JR high

Is that some kind of mill where Kent Station is now? (Update: Yes, found on Wikipedia it was a feed mill that was torn down to make way for the Sounder Train station.)

Covington wasn't a city at this time.. It' didn't incorporate until the late 90's.
