That was hilarious. "It will just be a nice happy birthday song" ... yes that was exactly what it was. Great reaction. You already know Legend 1997 was the title of the show - it was December 21st 2013, the day after Su-metal's 16th birthday - she was born in 1997. There is a translation of the intro video in the description which would have helped a bit with understanding what was happening: "Legend 1997. (referring to the year of Su's birth) It is told that receiving the legendary neck brace from the god of Metal, she shall abandon her human life and be reborn as a goddess. The bloodline which has been passed down from ancient times is destined to be the guide, boarding the ark of time. The apocalypse is prophesied DOOMSDAY comes There remains... little time.." Basically this show was the final step in BABYMETAL transitioning from Idol group sub-unit (it had this narrative running all the way through and even started with a lip-synced dance remix of their song 'Headbanger') to independent metal band - it was also Su-metal's final step in her transition from J-Pop Idol - she was sacrificing her human existence and life as Suzuka Nakamoto, a J-Pop Idol, to be reborn as Su-metal, a Metal Goddess chosen to lead the Metal Resistance. She was resurrected at their next big shows at the Budokan, Doomsday Red Night and Black Night two or three months later. 'BABYMETAL Death' was the first track on the first album and was most often used as the show opener (without the crucifixion) - it is the perfect introduction - that is what the lyrics are:- "B - A - B - Y - M - E - T - A - L Death Death Death Death Death Death. Su-metal death. Yuimetal death. Moametal death. BABYMETAL death. Death Death Death Death Death Death." It is a play on words. There is no 'TH' sound in Japanese, so to a Japanese speaker death sounds like desu (the U is silent) spoken with a slight lisp. Desu means "To be - I am - you are - we are - it is" etc ... so in Japan you might introduce yourselves as "Jay and Liza desu" (We are Jay and Liza). All they were doing throughout the song was introducing themselves by name and introducing BABYMETAL by name - and 'death' is just the sort of thing you'd expect to be chanted by any self respecting metal band and their audience (and growling vocals on a backing track) while the lead singer is crucified. There were a couple of homages in this performance too. The opening drum beat is an homage to Metallica's 'One' and the statue crumbling at the end pays homage to Metallica's Justice For All tour of 1989 where they also had a statue (Lady Justice) crumble at the end of their shows. The neck brace is a tribute to X Japan drummer/pianist/songwriter/composer Yoshiki who damaged his neck so badly headbanging that he has to wear a neck brace most of the time, especially when performing. On special occasions 'BABYMETAL Death' was used later in the show - Legend 1997 was the title of the show celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday ... and they only crucify Su on special occasions. So far that has happened 5 times (plus at least a couple more in the Budokan shows earlier this year), the last with a performance like this was at Legend S in December 2017 to help her celebrate her 20th birthday - and that one had extra flames. Did I mention? #notacult #NoHonestItReallyIsntACult Nicest slowest BABYMETAL song would be 'No Rain, No Rainbow', or 'Akatsuki' (unfinished version) - that one was the song before this - or 'The One'.
Here is the explanation of Desu vs death: th-cam.com/video/F8u8UuvzW0E/w-d-xo.html Literally, Desu means "is". So the literal translation of "Sumetal desu" would be "Sumetal is [me]" (where the person speaking is understood to be referring to them self) See the first 7 seconds of this video: th-cam.com/video/cD2H7UWfJmw/w-d-xo.html (where close neighbors of my introduce themselves.)
The neck brace is a tribute to another Japanese band X-Japan. The drummer injured his neck headbanging and had to have surgery and wear a neck brace. If you watch the Headbanger music video instead of the live performance, the neck brace plays a prominent role
In an interview the band manager explained the statue. "Band manager Kobametal, meanwhile, is a lifelong fan[of Metallica]. For Babymetal’s ‘Legend 1997’ concert at Makuhari Messe in Chiba later that year, he even oversaw the creation of a large statue of a woman who loomed over the band and collapsed, like Metallica’s iconic Lady Justice one. It’s a level of fandom that has allowed Babymetal to connect with fans of heavy music more easily. He remembers seeing the band [Metallica] at the legendary, 50,000-capacity Tokyo Dome in 1991, after they released The Black Album. It affected him the same way as it did Su-metal, altering his life forever, and ultimately leading him down the path he’s treading today. “The [Black] album brought a new perspective to the metal scene,” he explains. “They [Metallica] had a profound influence, and their sound was just so natural that I instantly became addicted to their music.”
Su-Metal will absolutely take your soul with her Death Glare, but don't worry, Suzuka Nakamoto will gladly return it after the show. She's a nice lady.
The prologue said: "Legend One-Nine-Nine-Seven. It is the story that, receiving the legendary corset from the god of the Metal, she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess. The gene which has been determined from ancient time is destined to be guided, boarding on the ark of time. The apocalypse prophesied the DOOMSDAY. Towards it, there remains... little time... Are you ready to mosh'sh mosh'sh mosh'sh" Mosh'sh or mosshushu is a "friendlier" kind of mosh/circle pit, instead of really moshing the run in circles. This particular song in this case is about Su-metal giving up her former life as a J-pop idol and human being to be reborn as a metal goddess. As said in the prologue. The neck brace is an homage to Yoshiki from X Japan who injured his neck because of too much headbanging. And the opening riff ( One) and the crumbling statue (..and justice for all) is an homage to Metallica Kitsune up 🤘🦊🤘🇸🇪/4
I think you don't realized this a bless from Fox God, we needed metal to reborn and he gaves us resurrection, all hail to Kitsune-sama 🙌 Song got riff from _Metallica - One_ and the virgen statue is a Metallica homage too, but is not virgen marie, the faces resembles to SuMetal. Our girls said this is one of the most physical demanding performance, and you can see the reason, that's why they normally used this song as a opener and a way to warm up for next performances, not always with the crucifixion act thou, in this case this was at the end of the Legend 1997 live show. The neckbrace is part of BM lore and is a tribute for Yoshiki from X-Japan (if you don't know who is he, you should be, he's like a semi-god for japaneses) Neckbrace first appearence was during Headbanger! official MV (another vid with the girls really young). Yoshiki suffer serious injuries during a live concert while headbanging so hard, this was before Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin era, after that he needs to use neckbrace to avoid doing that movement, he still playing thou, he's a metal god legend, so when BM and fans uses neckbrace is to summon the spirit of metal god ;) This was during SuMetal 16th birthday and she was sacrificed as j-pop idol and reborn as a queen metal goddess, Kitsune-sama has bless all of us. Now we got metal in the Babymetal way 🦊🤘 During an interview KobaMetal (the producer behind BM) said that when he was travelling for concerts abroads around 2015 he came to know a band like Ghosts and he was interested in discover that band doing the same thing they're were doing theatrically and artistically, so anyone thinking those bands are satanic and such they're just saying nonsenses, they're doing a show in which they're playing a role, and in order to be convincing (like an actor in a movie film) they need to perform their part like they're mean it, and the audience must be part of it and an important ingredient because other way it won't work. That's why we said all the time "notacult", unless you are or want to feel part of it. I don't hope you enjoy this if you don't watch it with an open mind, but i get it must be kinda shocking if this is your first time on this type of metal concert, you just need to go back during live shows from metal legends and you'll see what i'm talking about. Ok, slow down a little bit for next song, how about _"Catch Me If You Can"_ live at Budokan? ;) _LIVINGLEGEND_ _NOTACULT_ _10BABYMETALYEARS_
Hate to be in a car with you and i asked you to slow down CMIYC ! 🤣 I think No Rain No Rainbow type slow would be slow that was ment 🤘🦊🤘 Forgot to mention like he said #notacult #butmightbemistakenforacult
⚡ 💀 💕 / 💀 💀 💀 'Legend 1997' is named for Su-metal's birth year. This concert was held the day after her 16th birthday. The song 'BABYMETAL Death' is usually used as an opening number to get the crowd hyped up. Without the crucifixion. : ) This performance was unusual since it was used as the closing number. Here's a translation of the introduction: "It is the story that, receiving the legendary corset (neck brace) from the god of the Metal, she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess. The gene which has been determined from ancient time is destined to be guided, boarding on the ark of time. The apocalypse prophesied the DOOMSDAY. Towards it, there remains… little time… (5) Are You (4) Ready to (3) (2) Mosh'sh (1) Mosh'sh (0) Mosh'sh". Kami Band members (magicians) for this concert were guitarists Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Leda Cygnus, BOH on bass, and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Their next concert was 'LIVE IN SINGAPORE', their first solo show outside of Japan, held a week later. 'BABYMETAL Death' was the opening song, but as usual, without the crucifixion.
Yes! This might be the absolute best reaction to Babymetal Death yet! Loved it! I was sweating from laughing so hard. Seriously, this was fun and major props to Liza for doing it and watching it all the way through. Like Jay pointed out, this is just J-pop Idol Suzuka Nakamoto sacrificing her mortal self to be reborn as Queen Su-metal, Goddess of all that is Metal. A really nice 16th birthday party! Reacting to both versions of Akatsuki (unfinished and regular) would be awesome. The same song but, completely different feelings. Looking forward to the next one. Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘 #notacult
Anna what did you do on your birthday? I went to Legoland. Maria what did you do on your birthday? I went to Disneyland. Su, what did you do on your birthday? oh my friends crucified me in front of several thousand people and then I was reborn a metal goddess.
Just plain awesome...and the best reaction! Don't worry Liza, you will be brought back from the brink as you continue to watch other videos. Jay nailed the crucifixion theory! Man, my 16th was BORING!
Fun fact: the "DNA" helix design in the intro to "Babymetal DEATH" is also on Su's stick mic in "Headbanger". FYI Yui is the one with the power to steal your soul by just staring at you through the camera. In legend 1997 "Babymetal Death" is the last song in the concert and is used as a big, insane, messianic, pun finale rather than the usual introduction. It follows the manic excitement of Headbanger and the emotion of Akatsuki and if you listen to all three songs together you'll get the context and the complete operatic scope of Su-metal leaving childhood behind, embracing sacrifice and finally being reborn as a Metal Goddess to do the will of the Fox God. #notacult The use of the Christian crucifixion iconography here mixes death and rebirth. This is echoed in the chant at the beginning; "Death, Death, Death.. , Su-Metal desu"...etc. The "desu" sounds like "death" to Western ears, but in Japanese it means "to be" - so the words are " Death, Death, Death... I am Su-metal, I am Yuimetal, I am Moametal, We are Babymetal". So, while this initially seems to be all about death it's also an affirmation of existence and being. Death and life/rebirth exist together just as in the crucifixion. The use of the "Su/Mary statue" is another nod to birth, to Su as a new Goddess and also to Metallica's "Justice" stage statue. Did I mention #notacult.
The statue is also a reference to the great mother that was referenced in the Evangelion anime series. In the concert, Su sings the song Tamashii no Refuran (Return/Refrain of the Soul) from that series and is also about death and rebirth.
This was sooooooo worthy, it was exactly what I expected from Liza, I think she is going to see Su-metal on every dark corner just staring at her from now on xD, such an amazing reaction!!! I think Death works really well as an introductory song, along with the song In the Name of, that is also an introductory song, they can really get you into a BABYMETAL live performance. I recommend either Da Da Dance or Yava, they are such great songs and I think Liza would like them. Thanks for sharing it with us 🤘🦊🤘
Y'all are so cute. :p I'm so sorry you're not enjoying y'all's trip down the fox hole, Liza, but (and I mean this in the most respectful and affectionate way possible) we sure enjoy watching you take it. 😂 (Also: Boomer Sooner!) If you want something Cute(tm) Try Awadama Fever. For slow: Akatsuki *Unfinished version* (The unfinished part is important for calmness) If you want to cry, watch No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S (Especially since you like Su's voice. It's one of her solos) And for fast beats, I think Yava would be good. Or Distortion. Distortion is crazy with the drums.
This was so much fun to watch. As a reward I think next should be something like a beautiful ballad song like No Rain No Rainbow or Akatsuki (unfinished) version
The thing is you're missing the context of the whole show. The show itself has a story-telling side to it. This is just the end of the crescendo where Suzuka Nakamoto finally embraces the Metal Revolution that BABYMETAL is about to embark on and becomes Su-Metal the Goddess of the Metal Resistance. The rest simply is History with all the shows, albums and songs they released afterwards.
To make it plain at that time they had no idea what they would become international. They were singing japanese. Thecworld desu sounds like the english world death, but it simply means to be. The reason behind this song was that they used stage persona and this song helped them into their roles.
The guys will tell you the whole story, but the reaction is hilarious and entertaining 🤣. Babymetal is an experience not just a band. They have bangers, ballads, dancy, poppy, and rappy songs. The more you explore the more you will appreciate the massive amount of talent and styles. Thanks for a fun reaction 😄
Nice reaction. Folks thought the Give Me Chocolate video was a WTF moment, Then this hit the internet. And a real WTF moment was born. Fun part of this is in Japanese all they're saying is I am Su, I am Yui and I am Moa. This show was a Rock opera. It told a story. So later if you see MoiMoi it's the combination of Moa and Yui's names. I think it's time for Liza to get to love Babymetal. Try No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S for Su's 20th birthday in her home town of Hiroshima.
"It will just be a nice happy birthday song" Oh boy... ahahahah They already told you anything you needed to know about this song, so after this one, I think she deserves a more uplifting and simpler song, like the official MV of "Iine" :D And btw, remember that we are #NotACult
*BABYMETAL* was originally created as a Sub-Unit of a school-themed female idol group named *Sakura Gakuin. (さくら学院)* They had several sub-units, such as: *- Baton Club Twinklestars* *- Tenis Club Pastel Wind* *- Cooking Club MiniPatii* *- Heavy Music Club BABYMETAL* *- Newspapers Club SCOOPERS* *- Science Club Kagaku Kyumei Kiko LOGICA?* *- Go Home Club sleepiece* The sub-unit *Heavy Music Club BABYMETAL* attracted a lot of everyone's attention with their first song and video *Doki Doki Morning,* they did not waste the situation and continued with the theme until *BABYMETAL* became independent of *Sakura Gakuin.* They gained international fame with the song *Gimme Chokko !!* *Sakura Gakuin* has 12 members who some graduated each year and new members are received for a total of 12. *Sakura Gakuin* began in 2010 and continues to this day. Well in a way Kobametal at that stage owned their souls he had the big fight with Amuse behind him. Amuse officially wanted to build a new group around Su. They didn't knew that Koba wanted to hold these girls together even if it meant delays since Yui and Moa had to go to school for two years.
poor liza, i think we must apreciate his effort. and give a beautifull song to react . like Babymetal - No Rain no rainbow , i think she will apreciate this. :P
Legend 1997 Apocalypse is a concert celebrating Su-Metal aka Suzuka Nakamoto 16th Birthday 🎉(Seitansai) which took place in Makuhari Messe in Chiba prefecture. The Destruction Of The Statue is similar to Metallica Justice for All live concert in Mexico City, Mexico 🇲🇽. The Japanese word "desu" (です) is a copula (= to be). The Eastern Japanese almost drop "u" of this word, so the word "desu/des" sounds like "death". And someone started writing "DEATH" instead of "です" (desu). It makes sense only where the Japanese word "desu" is expected to come. The title "BABYMETAL DEATH" means only "We are BABYMETAL." No relation to the death itself. I'm not sure of its origin, but I saw long before such a character as a vampire or a death metal singer in a comic and all his "です" (desu) were replaced with "DEATH" to emphasize his character. With such an air, it works well. Without such an air, it probably doesn't work. There is a genre named "Death Metal". The sound of this tune seems to fall within that genre, and the lyric writer may have put many "DEATH"s to emphasize the Death-Metal-ness. It might be alright to use many "DEATH"s without thinking of death if some of Death Metal bands also chose their style just to differentiate themselves rather than driven by the feeling about death. But I don't know the Death Metal well. MAKUHARI MESSE:- Makuhari Messe (幕張メッセ) is a Japanese convention center outside Tokyo, located in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba city, in the northwest corner of Chiba prefecture. Designed by Fumihiko Maki, it is accessible by Tokyo's commuter rail system. Makuhari is the name of the area, and Messe is a German language word meaning "trade fair". •Owner: Makuhari Messe, Inc. •Opened: 9 October 1989. •Expanded: October 1997. •Classroom-style seating: 304 (International Conference Room). •Banquet/ballroom: 1,600 (Convention Hall). •Theatre seating: 7,860 (Makuhari Event Hall). Makuhari Messe is close to Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, and to Chiba prefecture's black sand beaches. It is accessible from Kaihimmakuhari station on the Keiyō Line of East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The center is the host of the annual Tokyo Auto Salon (modified car show, in January), the biennial Tokyo Motor Show (in October), the annual Tokyo Game Show (video game hardware and software exhibition, in September), the annual Jump Festa (manga, anime, and video game exposition, in December), and the biannual Wonder Festival (toys, scale figures, and garage kits exposition, in February and July). The venue was host to several Nintendo Space World events. It will be the venue for certain sports during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.
That was extremely fun to watch. Thanks! I guess it was way too much. But, if you like "the cheerleaders", you need to know they have a sub-unit (only the two of them) called Black BABYMETAL and I'd like to suggest you their song "Sis. Anger" :) See you next time! Edit: #notacult
Su sacrificing her human life to become Metal Goddess QUEEN SU-METAL. Their live shows are all EPIC ❤️ BABYMETAL ❤️🦊🤘 Try Pa Pa Ya which is a fast paced festival song
Whenever ANYONE gets suggested this video...it's always a good thing to add in #NOTACULT This is literally my favorite video to watch reactions of. You guys didnt disappoint either..TOO funny.
As compensation for the things Liza had to endure you should show her BABYMETAL's unfinished version of "Akazuki", I guess! th-cam.com/video/qhFLOy19mxA/w-d-xo.html > "That's loud!" Well... BABYMETAL aren't known to take any prisoners!
Love ❤️ this one guys Just to inform you This reaction will go in to my favorite reaction ever Your lady is just so mush fun and such a lovely 😊 person Also just to make it clear The girls or any one in this video ever said DETH EVEN ONES SO This is just a play on words In Japanese DETH = DES DES = DESU DESU = I AM OR WE ARE THIS SONG IS USUALLY PLAYED DURING THE OPENING OF THE CONCERT BUT For this concert as SU was reborn as the GODDESS OF METAL THEY PERFORMED AT THE END From then on she just became THE GODDESS OF METAL You need to do next Yava live with KAMI BAND INTRO IS JUST SO MUSH FUN
Awesome reaction guys. Finally Liza you have annointed by The Fox God to be part of The ONE. BABYMETAL FOREVER 🤘🤘🤘 All hail The Fox God #notacult... wink wink
For ballads, i prefer akatsuku unfinished, but somehow i think Liza would enjoy Onedari Daisakusen from same legend of 1997. Or legend of 1999..but personally i like 1997s sound better..anyways, thats a Black Babymetal song(named so cause those songs have the "cheerleaders" only, while main singer is taking a break)
Nice riaction! I can't understand what you guys are saying because I can't hear you speaking English. But I do understand Japanese. The word "death" is an auxiliary verb that means determination in Japanese.
Great reaction. Anyway, can i request your reaction to superb band from japan? The band is call "Lovebites" They all Beautiful Princesses metal band. But they are really really World class musicians. And they have a lot fans too. The song is "Winds of Transylvania" Hope you check out, and can enjoy it too. Big thanks🙏
@@JayandLizaHonestly speaking, I am not so familiar with metal music. But I like Black Sabbath after all. And Ningen Isu, which are influenced by Sabbath, is very Japanese-like doom metal band. I think the dome-like, or slow tempo songs in BABYMETAL are, Rondo of Nightmare(but odd time signature), Karate (djent), and Kagerou and so on...
Well the real background was quite simple. Officially a clerical errir at amuse. Amuse informed her that they would no longer carry her as an idol. But as 15 year old girls are she misunderstood it but Koba didn't really want to bother with such issues and he told her "No we will make you a goddess of Rock. And then in the background preparations started their default Show starter would become the last song, since it was already death metal. But at least someone woke up and realized, we have an excited 16 year old on stage and want her to play death, so she can't really see anything and due to the noise and her protectos she could not hear anything. But we don't want her to panic to prevent this she must feel in absolute control. She must know exactly who touched her and why. No hand restraints Make it simple handles and she holds herself to the cross.. She must know if I have to run she can run. And on the other hand it helped her. While the girls wanted to become idols, they don't want to be idols. If you are twenty and still an idol your life is doomed. Koba alteady used the girls as they liked so that was no problem.
Liza, its styled after the "mother mary" but its to symbolize Su being reborn from human form into the form of the Metal Goddess, to unite humanity. #notacult The Mosh Pit is a place of comradery and mutual respect. It just comes with physically mashing your body into a mass of other human bodies. Once you Body somebody in the pit, you will always understand. P.S. BabyMetal is not an affront to the Christian religion. Think of them like characters in a story.
Liza, you have my sympathies! I will be the first to say that Babymetal isn't for everyone and "Death" is pretty intense. I'm actually surprised you didn't jump and say "to hell with this!" You need to calm down and watch something more fun like "Doki Doki Morning" ( th-cam.com/video/5w8YN8AmHrg/w-d-xo.html ) or "Iine!" ( th-cam.com/video/L0MmQ_k2hx8/w-d-xo.html ). Or perhaps some Black Babymetal (just Yuimetal and Moametal while Su-metal takes a break), like "Song 4" ( th-cam.com/video/7_D6Q895Ts8/w-d-xo.html )or "Onedari Daisakusen" ( - th-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/w-d-xo.html ). I think Liza will really like the last two! And as for "it's starting to check the boxes", I damn near fell out of my chair laughing! BTW: #notacult!!!
I don't think the statue looks like Su. If it's supposed to they didn't do a very good job. Now you need to react to the stage show at the start of the concert. It's completely different. th-cam.com/video/OWggmY2BDhE/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CaspercloudMedia I think the stage show at the start and the stage show at the end represent the journey of the group. Well, not so much as going from one to the other but the duality of the concept.
@@JayandLiza not many I haven’t found anything I’m to fond of in the last five years or so but when I was playing along to kpop it was old school Like f(x), 2ne1, or girls generation Around 2014 I landed in the Japanese music scene and fell down a very deep well and haven’t really felt the desire to Climb out yet
Andcyoubhave tobunderstand that any kind of strong religious belief makes japanese people extremly uncomfortable. They have learned that any strong belief leads to death.
Did someone already mentioned #notacult? This was hilarious! As many others already said, this was special occasion to celebrate Su’s 16 birthday so that she can be reborn as Su-metal and steal our souls, errrr I mean entertain us with amazing kawaii metal! #seriouslynotacult!
If this got her going...We won't show her the opener from Legend S *winks* But it may give some closure. "In the name of. " Another Epic spectacle. #Notacult
That was hilarious. "It will just be a nice happy birthday song" ... yes that was exactly what it was. Great reaction. You already know Legend 1997 was the title of the show - it was December 21st 2013, the day after Su-metal's 16th birthday - she was born in 1997.
There is a translation of the intro video in the description which would have helped a bit with understanding what was happening:
"Legend 1997. (referring to the year of Su's birth)
It is told that receiving the legendary neck brace from the god of Metal,
she shall abandon her human life and be reborn as a goddess.
The bloodline which has been passed down from ancient times
is destined to be the guide, boarding the ark of time.
The apocalypse is prophesied
DOOMSDAY comes
There remains... little time.."
Basically this show was the final step in BABYMETAL transitioning from Idol group sub-unit (it had this narrative running all the way through and even started with a lip-synced dance remix of their song 'Headbanger') to independent metal band - it was also Su-metal's final step in her transition from J-Pop Idol - she was sacrificing her human existence and life as Suzuka Nakamoto, a J-Pop Idol, to be reborn as Su-metal, a Metal Goddess chosen to lead the Metal Resistance.
Death Death Death Death Death Death."
It is a play on words.
#notacult #NoHonestItReallyIsntACult
Nicest slowest BABYMETAL song would be 'No Rain, No Rainbow', or 'Akatsuki' (unfinished version) - that one was the song before this - or 'The One'.
Here is the explanation of Desu vs death: th-cam.com/video/F8u8UuvzW0E/w-d-xo.html
Literally, Desu means "is". So the literal translation of "Sumetal desu" would be "Sumetal is [me]" (where the person speaking is understood to be referring to them self)
See the first 7 seconds of this video: th-cam.com/video/cD2H7UWfJmw/w-d-xo.html (where close neighbors of my introduce themselves.)
The neck brace is a tribute to another Japanese band X-Japan. The drummer injured his neck headbanging and had to have surgery and wear a neck brace. If you watch the Headbanger music video instead of the live performance, the neck brace plays a prominent role
Jay was only half joking when he said that. Go look at the lead singer of Slayer, can't move his neck anymore after years of headbanging on stage!
Did you notice how Moa fixed Su’s hair? That’s the key to understanding this clip. No matter what happens, there’s no excuse for bad hair.
Su also uses a well-timed flick of her head to get the last strand out of her face while they lean the cross back
@@rantingrodent416 Su can make her hair move like magic . Loved that whip like flick during B×M×C 2nd show as stage was moving back

Slow? The One. A song to tell their fans we are one-together
They just crucified Su and chanted DEATH DEATH DEATH... to celebrate Su-metal's birthday. What a happy birthday party!
The prologue said:
"Legend One-Nine-Nine-Seven.
It is the story that, receiving the legendary corset from the god of the Metal,
she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess.
The gene which has been determined from ancient time
is destined to be guided, boarding on the ark of time.
The apocalypse prophesied
the DOOMSDAY. Towards it,
there remains...
little time...
Are you ready to mosh'sh mosh'sh mosh'sh"
Mosh'sh or mosshushu is a "friendlier" kind of mosh/circle pit, instead of really moshing the run in circles.
This particular song in this case is about Su-metal giving up her former life as a J-pop idol and human being to be reborn as a metal goddess. As said in the prologue.
The neck brace is an homage to Yoshiki from X Japan who injured his neck because of too much headbanging.
And the opening riff ( One) and the crumbling statue (..and justice for all) is an homage to Metallica
Kitsune up 🤘🦊🤘🇸🇪/4
I think you don't realized this a bless from Fox God, we needed metal to reborn and he gaves us resurrection, all hail to Kitsune-sama 🙌
Song got riff from _Metallica - One_ and the virgen statue is a Metallica homage too, but is not virgen marie, the faces resembles to SuMetal.
Yoshiki suffer serious injuries during a live concert while headbanging so hard, this was before Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin era, after that he needs to use neckbrace to avoid doing that movement, he still playing thou, he's a metal god legend, so when BM and fans uses neckbrace is to summon the spirit of metal god ;)
This was during SuMetal 16th birthday and she was sacrificed as j-pop idol and reborn as a queen metal goddess, Kitsune-sama has bless all of us. Now we got metal in the Babymetal way 🦊🤘
During an interview KobaMetal (the producer behind BM) said that when he was travelling for concerts abroads around 2015 he came to know a band like Ghosts and he was interested in discover that band doing the same thing they're were doing theatrically and artistically, so anyone thinking those bands are satanic and such they're just saying nonsenses, they're doing a show in which they're playing a role, and in order to be convincing (like an actor in a movie film) they need to perform their part like they're mean it, and the audience must be part of it and an important ingredient because other way it won't work.
Ok, slow down a little bit for next song, how about _"Catch Me If You Can"_ live at Budokan? ;)

There are not very many tines that as awesome as this is, the reactors actually are more entertaining than the video. Well done, I am a fan.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
For a beautiful ballad, watch No Rain, No Rainbow, especially the Legend S version. Unfortunately that video ALWAYS gets blocked
We can try this one, even though it gets blocked we can request they release the block. It just takes a little time for the response.
@@JayandLiza Oh yes please!

This is hilarious. I recommended "Brand New Day", for the record.

'Legend 1997' is named for Su-metal's birth year.
This concert was held the day after her 16th birthday.
The song 'BABYMETAL Death' is usually used as an opening number to get the crowd hyped up.
Without the crucifixion. : )
This performance was unusual since it was used as the closing number.
Here's a translation of the introduction:
"It is the story that, receiving the legendary corset (neck brace) from the god of the Metal,
she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess.
The gene which has been determined from ancient time
is destined to be guided, boarding on the ark of time.
The apocalypse prophesied
the DOOMSDAY. Towards it,
there remains…
little time…
(5) Are You (4) Ready to (3) (2) Mosh'sh (1) Mosh'sh (0) Mosh'sh".
Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘
#notacult
#notacult
The use of the Christian crucifixion iconography here mixes death and rebirth.
Yes, Liza deserves an reward for this one. She had nightmares after this video....so something nice and beautiful should be next.
@@JayandLiza This is no stranger than what happens in certain buildings every week, the difference is here nobody believed it was real
@@JayandLiza just one thing if you choose the song No Rain no Rainbow get the one from the Legend S Baptism XX concert it’s the best one
If she wants a simple video then go with No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S. It's a ballad without all the pyrotechnics.
now THAT's !!! how you react to " Babymetal Death " , one of best reaction to this song :)
and we are #notacult , we just to happens act like one.
for fast beats - Arkadia
for soft - Akatsuki(unfinished version) it was actually the song right before this one
#NOTACULT🦊🤘
"No Rain, No Rainbow" is a beautiful song. Also, "Akatsuki" (unfinished). Finally, "Shine". Su-metal's voice really shows in those.
Best. Birthday. Ever.
"It will just be a nice happy birthday song"
Oh boy... ahahahah
They already told you anything you needed to know about this song, so after this one, I think she deserves a more uplifting and simpler song, like the official MV of "Iine" :D
And btw, remember that we are #NotACult
Watch Ava Marie complete, it’s the opening of the concert. Death was the closing song

*- Science Club Kagaku Kyumei Kiko LOGICA?*

*Sakura Gakuin* has 12 members who some graduated each year and new members are received for a total of 12. *Sakura Gakuin* began in 2010 and continues to this day. They have more than 10 albums, normally they release 1 new album every year when some of their members graduate from *Sakura Gakuin.* Like *BABYMETAL, Sakura Gakuin* performs live and uniquely choreographed for each song.
I also listen to *Sakura Gakuin* since 2015 day after day ... Each song is unique and different, to say that the songs of the sub-unit called *MiniPatii,* (which by the way, were presented by Yui and Moa) their instrumental it is 8 bit sounds! And the sub-unit *Science Club Kagaku Kyumei Kiko LOGICA?* With Disco music instruments!

Well in a way Kobametal at that stage owned their souls he had the big fight with Amuse behind him. Amuse officially wanted to build a new group around Su. They didn't knew that Koba wanted to hold these girls together even if it meant delays since Yui and Moa had to go to school for two years.

MAKUHARI MESSE:-
Makuhari Messe (幕張メッセ) is a Japanese convention center outside Tokyo, located in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba city, in the northwest corner of Chiba prefecture.

Have you done the band Jinjer, the song Pisces?
Well played Jay 😉
Nice riaction!
I can't understand what you guys are saying because I can't hear you speaking English.
But I do understand Japanese. The word "death" is an auxiliary verb that means determination in Japanese.
Yes! Example:

JP = Watashi Wa Kevin Desu
"Desu" souns like "Death"

They all Beautiful Princesses metal band. But they are really really World class musicians.
And they have a lot fans too.
The song is "Winds of Transylvania"
Hope you check out, and can enjoy it too. Big thanks🙏
It looks fun. I prefer doom metal to speed metal, sorry Liza. But BM has the wide range of Metal songs. So everything is OK. Thank you from Japan.
Jay is all about doom metal! What are your favorite bands? We have not even gone down the doom metal subgenre yet...
@@JayandLizaHonestly speaking, I am not so familiar with metal music. But I like Black Sabbath after all. And Ningen Isu, which are influenced by Sabbath, is very Japanese-like doom metal band.
#notacult
The Mosh Pit is a place of comradery and mutual respect. It just comes with physically mashing your body into a mass of other human bodies. Once you Body somebody in the pit, you will always understand.
P.S. BabyMetal is not an affront to the Christian religion. Think of them like characters in a story.
#notacult #weareTHECULT, i will always like this video, probably my fav with Tales of the destiny at Tokyo
Only explanation is. Shits metal as fuck

Death of idol princess, birth of metal Goddess.
What did you two do on your 16th.
Try BMC... Its fairly new.
