Read the vampire saga and the demonata when I was 12-13 years old. 27 years of age now and re visiting the whole series - highly recommended one of the best written.
I'm 31 and I still enjoy visiting these books over the years, A lot of authors feel like they're fluffing themselves up when they write, including a lot of unimportant information. Darren doesn't do that, maybe it's because his audience is different and aimed towards teenagers, but I still enjoy this style the most
I got my first print Cirque Du Freak book autographed by him when I was like 13 or 14 such a nice dude! I’m 28 now and still thoroughly enjoy them. Also still have a bit left to get through so I may crack on 😅
I don't understand how these books aren't on Audible. Sure they're gritty and gruesome, but so is Cirque du Freak and they're on the app (for free no less). It's an injustice to the author that these don't get more publicity! Fantastic work.
Read these books in the 7th grade! I’m 24 now and I’ve read these through probably 5-6 times. Each time is a joy, but I must say the voice for Davida is exactly how I imagined😂. The narrator is amazing with the voices lol.
Thank you for getting this out here. This was a favorite and I'm excited to experience it again without having to shell out a lot of dough, or feel bad about not having time to read after spending the money! Truly thank you.Oh goodness I really hope the rest of the series gets uploaded before I get finished with the 4 or 5 up right now.
bro and the kids voices in the lord loss scenes are always fucking howling vs this mother fucker sounding like hes trying to do some asmr so u gotta listen to these kids scream at max volume
The audio is missing the last page SPOILERS Grubbs isn’t content. He needs to prove to himself that he has magic. He does. He only hid his magic. This terrifies him. Last sentence: “There are no happy endings”
If you’re looking for an alternative for the time being there’s an Audio book called magician not quite like the demonata series but I’m liking it so far plus it’s 11 hours good enough to time to get through 2 work days or even 3 depending on how much you get through
I don’t understand how Netflix (or prime, or whatever else is out there) produces all these new random fantasy shows with no real storyline and somehow Demonata series has gone unnoticed. I also heard Netflix is investing a lot in anime this year, so maybe Lord Loss for starters and if it does well we get the whole series… praying to Bec for this. In an ideal world, maybe A24 could produce it and make it extra amazing!
I have the books! I have been reading along side of the audio books, I started with circ du freak by Darren. Love the books, I also am surprised no one has picked up any of his books series. The reader of this is very dedicated to the story, really gets in to it and brings it alive. Thanks for uploading this.😊
Awesome! Always up for a Darren Shan. Looking out for the Crepsley saga tho, have yet to find the whole series or even one complete audiobook. Anyone who has it plz upload! Would mean the world.
I always thought that being Grubbs, it would be a good idea to take a piece of the lodestone and implant it into my ribcage. That way, I would have a constant inner source of magic.
Why isnt this series a movie series itd have to be rated r but still the kids that read these in would definitely watch and it could be great really if they don't do it like cirque du freak
3:04:03 That is such a weak reason... And completely wrong. It would be a good thing to tell him. He would get a closure for a father he never actually knew, a new brother, and Dervish wouldn't stop being his father figure. And why did Grubbs wait for a comet to fly by or something, I don't know why not just sit him down and tell him... It's BS and it's frustrating. Same with the fight against the Lambs. They imagine Bill-e locked up for some reason, without even asking how would the observations work and in what conditions, and they treat their assumptions as a fact...
Could you possibly upload the cirque du freak audiobooks please listened to them before on youtube but can’t find them anymore, and I loved reading the series which is also by Darren Shan
I was wondering, the Wiki calls the wolf demon that kills Emmet Cadaver. And it is described as the Demon Thief Cadaver. But the wiki says that the Cadaver here and the one in Demon Thief are two different demons that look the same and have the same name. Where does this come from?
I would say it’s just not right on the wiki. I believe that this is the same cadaver from Demon Thief, it would make sense, seeing as they did not finish him off in the ancient chess set. I’m sure Lord Loss let him go after Kernel solved the mystery.
I've heard that apparently darren shan had confirmed they were different demons in an interview of some sort on one of the wikis and in a comment of a video showing off the characters on the covers from ages ago, idk if it's some rumour or something, I've heard it a good few times but can't find said interview or answer. it interests me a lot since Cadaver is a very interesting and notable demon compared to most others, as well as just being a strange and odd rumour
@@detectiveinnitkid2880 Yeah, I just find it odd that they are said to be two different demons. I can't remember anything in the books saying that they were. Almost like saying the Art/Artery from Demon Thief is a different demon from the Artery that Grubbs meets.
@@angusking1593 completely with ya, it's super odd especially how similar they are described as well as the cover depiction on Slawter definitely resembling what Cadaver was described as, at least after lord loss gifted him with a mouth, only thing that's off is the yellow eyes and more pointy ears since Cadaver is described as having white eyes and floppy ears, maybe lord loss changed him to a degree as a sort of branding upon Cadaver if he really did recruit him as one of his own familiars
@@rupertqsound haha amazing that you would find my little comment. I'm sorry but Lord lost his voice is ass. It's so freaking terrible, which is a pity because these are great books. Don't get me wrong he's not the only dreadful freaking voice. But it's just cringe 🤢. Oddly enough Bill E Is the voice I like most, because it's funny. Grubs his voice is okay except for all the dramatics and whining.
@@billus3893It's a strange take that someone would like Lord lost his voice. There's nothing scary about a dude who sounds like he's yawning all the time, and he talks so slow it doesn't match the pace of the other characters 🤷🏿♀️ I literally forgot what the scene was about because he talked so long and slow. Bill e's voice is entertaining because it's so different, it's a shock but at least it's a funny shock that makes you laugh.
