Glad this video is here. My wife just came to me to let me know ours has issues. It's the axle or drive-bands. Deep sigh, too busy to deal with, but gotta do tear-down and order parts asap. I hope it's drive-bands which I also hope would be easier than the axle replacement, but with my luck lately its the axle.
Yeah man I tried to remove one of them and gave up they're locktight blued in really good. If it were me and I were determined I'd impact them off. That's probably the best way. Get an impact and just pray it doesn't strip the bolts out.
I wouldnt weld it. Just get a new one but there is one thing I do know this is a huge problem with these damn things I'll never buy another proform Hitt machine again. My axle has failed twice now. Almost every year the damn thing fails.
Well there's two bands the main drive band is on the left side. Then there's another band on the upper right. I don't know which one creates resistance.
Were you able to replace the main axle yourself and get this fixed? Mine just broke and am debating whether to replace it myself or hire someone. I'm at the point of trying to remove the axel, but the screws are pretty hard to remove.
Also I recommend taking it apart first and seeing what parts you will need. Don't just order an axle you will probably need some other parts. But you won't know until you take it apart.

I have the same model as yours. took them apart just to see why it's wobbling. I suspect the large bearing so I ordered them online.
What kind of screwdriver you used to remove the screw in side the hole. I tried but failed.
This is the exact issue I am having with my proform right now. how did you fix it ?
@@nathanhobbs3789 i tore it apart and replaced the main axle. I have another video where I show what I tore apart.
if you have a suggestion on removing the disc, i would appreciate it. The black bolts in the center of the steel discs seem awfully tight. thanks

Do you have a picture of the new main crank? Thinking about welding it but want to know the position of the square pins on either side.

@@comander7681ok thanks. On their website that part is out of stock. I was told don't bother fixing it.
Aye yai yai. I think I'll just bite the bullet and get something else
What side of the machine has the resistance band control.

I did replace it myself it's a pain in the ass. But I learned Alot in the process. I went in blind just removing screws until I got down to the axle.
