One of my most magical moments was in that desert. I was looking down at a pile of old rusty tin cans and it had begun to sprinkle and I was treated to a masterpiece of tings, bonks and bings .
When was this? Was this after the recent January storm? I’m going down there next week with a bunch of 2wd trucks and wondering how the trail conditions are.
This was in Feb 18, 2023 which was before the storm. I'm not sure how the trail conditions are now after the big storm. I hope you have fun, good luck, and stay safe out there!
When you drive along the dispersed camping sites, you can usually see designated camping spots to the side of the dirt road. If its not taken by another camper, you are free to claim it and set up camp.

I'm planning a trip there this weekend with my fiance for our first BLM camping. How do you know what part of the area was okay to camp at?
