What's impressive is that he does EVERYTHING. He's actually an incredible musician - and of course... what a voice. It's been a hot minute since you've done any VP and Geoff?! They've done some amazing releases in the last 3 months alone. ⚘️🕊
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's epic Christmas release. I have run out of superlatives! A five octave vocal range is a powerful thing. I enjoy the way Geoff arranges music nearly as much as his vocals. Geoff and Kathy filmed this by themselves at a new location using multiple cameras on tripods. This one has only been out a week and already has 533K views. Judging by his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage! VoicePlay came out with a fun Christmas tune last Friday also. J. is back with the guys and there was a great nod to Louis Armstrong's original recording in it.
Some have called this the Die Hard of Christmas Carols, lol. I think how his voice has been described as honey poured over thunder so works with this cover!
I think you know that Geoff is the bass and one of the founders of VoicePlay - they just released a huge new song 90 minutes ago - their first representing a new game. I'm not a gamer, but it's from Warframe - and the song is incredible. They've done a lot of game covers - but this one is theirs and they're IN the newest game release. This is going to be huge.
This song is EPIC ❤ Geoff's covers are always so well arranged, his voice is superbe (like always), but the instrumentals in this one were next level 😮 The "middle Geoff" had a way to stare down the camera, like he was right before going into battle... I felt a little scared and intimidated 😮 I'm not much into all the normal cheesy Christmas songs, but this one... good Lord... it's like a Christmas battle song 👀😱 I'm listening to it on repeat since it dropped (literally 😂) last Friday 👍🏻
Geoff is amazing, always and in all ways! Now, about his hair. I've been fixated on it ever since this was released. It looks different this time. He does not part his hair, but it usually falls towards his right. This time, it's falling to his left, and I think that revealed more of the gray than usual.
Another Acapella group you might check out has 5 female voices and 6 male voices. The group is called "VOCTAVE" and they often bring in guests. Over the years, they have released many Christmas videos, but they don't stop there. Prepare to be Amazed. With that said, one of my favorites is Disney's "Heroes and Villains". I'm a fan of most genre's of music, and other related items! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Not positive since he didn’t come straight out and say it, but I feel he was signaling to Ukraine on this. He mentioned in the description that the original name for the song comes from Ukraine and then tinted everything kind of yellow and blue. It all comes off as rather suspenseful and almost a feel of huge church bells ringing a warning. Something like a Christmas Eve cease fire? Whether Geoff meant it that way or not, it reminds me to be super thankful that I don’t need to be fighting for my life (or way of life). A commenter on another site posted that this is a more probable voice for an angel - why else do they seem to start off with “Fear Not”?
I think you are correct in your observations! I kept thinking about the bells of a cathedral rather than sweet silver bells! Check out what Huldra Draco did with Geoff and the Muppets.
The set is dressed in blue and gold as well as the lighting. Also notice Geoff’s clothes are in those same colors. I can’t help speculating that it is a subtle shout out to Ukraine as this song is Ukrainian and the national colors are blue and gold.
You might be reading into it too much especially since, AFAIK, Geoff has never been very political online or in his music (I'm not a patron so idk). Also, he's released 20+ songs not including shorts since the war started and I've not seen anything that implies support or anything else. Edit: I also agree 100% with "it reminds me to be super thankful that I don’t need to be fighting for my life (or way of life)". Sometimes we don't realize how good we have it compared to others.
A Christmas roller coaster. Wow! What a ride! EPIC - Movie Theater production! Something happened for sure. Amazing!
Geoff just broke the earth, again.
Almost broke my headphones aswell

This is definitely my new favorite version of this song! ❤
This song is EPIC ❤

This is sung by the Ghost in the original Christmas Carol movie

I call this version of the song "Thunder of the Bells!"
