Hahaha same here..even though i was 4-5 when i first saw and heard this from my older brothers playing these demos it stuck in my life as the firsts memories
Imagine a real video game museum. With a section where you can play old demos and chairs with fountains where you can read the old magazines. I would pay to visit it.
The first track makes my heart melt with the wonder and joy I had when I finally got a PS2 and could join in with the gaming craze of the 2000s after being behind with my PS1 til late 2002.
I didn't get a PS1 till the PS2 was out in 2000 (or nearly out here in Italy). I then skipped the PS2 entirely and got a PS3 in 2008. But the magic had gone. When you're a kid gaming is everything
Same 👍 Beyond Good & Evil, Prince of Persia, Jak 3, Shinobi and many trailers of other games... Like Eyetoy Play with some grannys, hahaha, really good
I had disc 1 and 2... I used to put disc 1 in and just let the music play in the background while I read books, wrote, drew pictures, played with my friends or my cousins. I was around 5 or so, already internet-savvy but the only internet access I had was at my grandmother's and my friends' homes. Good shit.
The first song is actually composed by Jason Page. If you rip the iso or any of the counterfeit discs that used this as a language launcher and read the credits.txt file it says that Jason Page is the composer, along with other names who created the demo menu, videos and programming. Funfact this demo menu was used on almost all counterfeit discs, especially in Russia where there was usually a russian translation of the game inserted by pirates.
Jason Page was the composer of the PAL/NTSC soundtrack of the original Gran Turismo. It sounds like he composed the fourth tune as well. I can hear it's like an evolution of GT1's soundtrack.
@@markisaki979 I composed tracks 1, 3 and 4 from this video. I’ve never heard 2 before. And, yes, I would have been using a lot of the same equipment and samples as I did for GT. Good spot!
The first one, 2001, Devil May Cry, Soul Reaver 2, Dark Cloud, Jak & Daxter, AirBlade, Man, I miss that time, I can't count the times how many times I booted this disc up to play the demos and watch the trailers and just to listen to the music.
I got my ps2 just before christmas 2000. I remember starting up the console the first time and putting the demo disc in. The second the first track on this video started to play, I thought "Wow, this sounds like the future". Boy, was I in for a ride for the next few years. Loved my ps2.
TESTMONO1 goes way back... I used to go straight to Tekken 4 or Shinobi. Oh, the memories... And TESTMONO2... As soon as I heard 1:53 after such a long time, I literally hummed along with it 🤣🤣 I'm glad my memories are still crystal clear...
One of these days I'll find not the menu music, but the song that went alongside a trailer that featured jak 2 and eye toy in it that was on a PS2 demo disc... dear god it was awesome it sounded like club foot by kasabian but no lyrics and a lil faster
i actually bought the first demo on this video some years back for the memories. should still have it somewhere. smackdown just bring it , air blade etc. good disc.
The 4th track 3:42 is burned into the nostalgia zone of my brain 😊😄😅 I've still got a few demo discs which features the third and fourth track. Really wondering who the composer of these timeless tunes is, especially the fourth track...
PS2 was my best console of ALL time, closely followed by PS1, Xbox360 and Sega Megadrive. The Gameboy and Advance were very good and relaxing but killed my neck 😆 🤣. I did have some good times with the PC during the early 2000s playing strategy games I couldn't get on Console such as CnC Generals, Dawn of War 1, Civilization 3 & 4, Lord of the Rings BFME 1 and Star Wars Empire at War. I can only relive those moments now through my precious memories.
Well i mean... this was a pure rip from the discs so this is up there on being original quality. But yea, with your version it's very.. bass-y. Not a fan.
I just added one canal for stereo, nothing changed on frequencies. It has the exact same frequency response like the original and that's how it would sound like if it were stereo from the beginning :)
Does anyone know this game? On my demodisc was a very trippy an rhythmic 3d shoot em'up. You played as a flying human figure and it used some kind of vector(esque) graphics, i think.
The first one is like the soundtrack I've came to life, one of the first sounds I remember from childhood.
Same PS2 Xmas of 2001 I was 10!. Those times was amazing for being a kid! 😌❤️

Computerspielemuseum (Video Game Museum), Berlin.
It would be the closest thing to a time machine.
Absolutely!!!! I missed the final edition of PlayStation 2 Max UK and dying to read it again.
That first one is simply the best
Are you going to legalize Marijuana now
Beter than all the rest
Took quite a while to write this one. Lots of arguments between me and Pete (who did the graphics for the discs)!

Right in the childhood
Where it all started 😢 my childhood... where has the time gone?
The disc with the tekken 4 demo was gold, played that demo disc to death
It's nice to see that I wasn't the only one. 👌

Finally, after struggling with a friend for 1hour or so i found the Music 3 !

This music is most popular in Russia, because it met the choice of languages on pirate CDs
Very interesting...
Yea I've been looking for it a long time
Jason Page shared recently that the song at 2:25 was inspired by this music called "Morcheba - Big Calm"
100% True :-)
My god the first one, I just found the whole atmosphere of the demo disc menu scary as a kid. I don't know why lol.
Grooverider, XIII, Tak & The Power of Juju, Starsky & Hutch, Socom U.S Navy Seals, Soul Calibur II... my favorite demo disc
