Miss Vignes is performing the Martha Graham Technique floor work, in a combination prepared for her and taught to her by teacher Maggie Boogaart.
Miss Vignes is in her second year of studies with Mrs Boogaart at the professional training program of Paris Marais Dance School.
(Mrs Vignes studied one year with teacher Tancredo Tavares at the Rudra School in Lausanne prior to coming to Paris Marais Dance School)
Mrs Boogaart shares in her teaching the principals of the Martha Graham technique as she has had the chance to learn these from legendary Graham dancers/teachers, like Pearl Lang, Jane Dudley, Dudley Williams, Ethel Winter. Mrs Boogaart received her training in the Martha Graham technique in the late 80's at London Contemporary Dance School and in the 90's at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York City. She is recognized by the faculty of the MGSCD as a teacher of the Martha Graham technique and repertory
Mrs Boogaart is, together with ex-classical ballet soloist Ghislain de Compreignac, co-founder and co-director of Paris Marais Dance School. The school offers open drop-in classes for amateurs of all ages and levels and 4 intensive workshops each year with final presentations. In addition to their classes open to amateur students, Paris Marais dance School has a professional training program where young talent (age 12-21) enters on audition to prepare themselves for an international career as a dancer. Paris Marais Dance School is housed in the studio's of the Centre de Danse du Marais.
