বগুড়া জেলার শিবগঞ্জ উপজেলায় প্রতিষ্ঠিত এই কেন্দ্রটি দেশের একমাত্র মসলা গবেষণা প্রতিষ্ঠান
মসলা গবেষণা কেন্দ্র, বাংলাদেশ কৃষি গবেষণা ইনস্টিটিউটের একটি অন্যতম গবেষণা কেন্দ্র। এই কেন্দ্রটি বগুড়া শহর হতে প্রায় ১৮ কি. মি. উত্তরে ঐতিহাসিক মহাস্থানগড়ের পার্শ্বে শিবগঞ্জ উপজেলার রায়নগর ইউনিয়নে অবস্থিত। মসলা গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে বিভিন্ন ধরনের মসলা ফসলের গবেষণা কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করা হয়। এখানে বিভিন্ন ডিসিপ্লিন যেমন- উদ্যানতত্ত্ব, কীটতত্ত্ব, উদ্ভিদ রোগতত্ত্ব, মৃত্তিকা বিজ্ঞান, উদ্ভিদ প্রজনন, ফিজিওলজি, বায়োটেকনোলজি, কৃষি প্রকৌশল এবং কৃষি অর্থনীতি বিদ্যমান, যা দিয়ে বিভিন্ন ফসলের ফিজিওলজি, ব্রিডিং পদ্ধতি, জৈব প্রযুক্তি, উদ্ভিদ পুষ্টি, সেচ, আন্ত পরিচর্যা, বীজ উৎপাদন, রোগ ও পোকামাকড় দমন, শস্য সংগ্রহোত্তর ব্যবস্থাপনা ও বাজার পদ্ধতি ইত্যাদি বিষয়ের উপর গবেষণা কার্যক্রম পরিচালিত হয় এবং গবেষণা ফলাফল কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তর এর মাধ্যমে কৃষকের মাঝে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া হয়। বর্তমানে মসলা গবেষণা কেন্দ্রে প্রায় ৩০ দেশি বিদেশী মসলা ফসলের উপর গবেষণা কার্যক্রম পরিচালিত হচ্ছে।
