A friend of mine went to the ER after a large meal. Crippling, screaming for mercy abdominal pain and the doctors are convinced he has appendicitis and needs emergency surgery. He’s in so much pain, he cant even stay still long enough for a scan. Just as they’re getting ready to sedate him fully for a quick scan and then straight to surgery, he lets out an enormous, ungodly fart in both volume and stench, and is immediately out of pain and ready to leave. Other people may hate your guts but, sometimes, your guts really hate you.
I had gas that bad once in middle school. My mom had to come take me to the doctor because it hurt so bad I couldn’t even stand up. My doctor and my mom laughed so hard when he figured out what the problem was. I should have been embarrassed, but I was too relieved to have gotten that gas out. All he did was push on my stomach. 😂😂😂
I kid you not I had the most satisfying fart of the month while reading this. My ulcerative colitis has flared up recently so I understand your friend's pain very well
I had the slowest weirdest heart attack for 3 weeks. Before this I was very constipated, going every 3 to 4 days. Then I woke up and had coffee and toast. I start getting back pain under my lower ribs so I thought maybe it's my gallbladder or something. This went on for 2 weeks until I found I couldn't burp. I tried twisting my body, leaning over but no burp. Then week 3 I ate dinner and I got really bad back pain and had to sit up to sleep. I finally couldn't take it any more and went to the ER and was told I was having a heart attack. I ended up having 3 smaller blocked arteries and had stents put in. After that I could go to the bathroom regularly. My mother had a similar heart attack but didn't make it. I never put 2 and 2 together.
I worked ER one Thanks giving in a rural hospital. Nearly every patient had overeaten and put tubes down a few of them. Some were supposed to be NPO (nothing by mouth) The stuff coming out was everything but the candles on the table! Horrible! Right after I went back to the floor, I learned my family had brought me turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce! Needless
The family jumped the gun....how do you come back from your family coming to say goodbye before a doctor says you're going... But seriously: EAT SOLUBLE FIBER, PEOPLE.
You want a mix of soluble and insoluble. Soluble does various good things for your gut microbiome, and insoluble makes it easier for your bowels to shove out the poop.
I’m gonna sound like an old person, but EAT MORE FIBER. I hate pooping at work cuz sometimes, the person in the next stall sounds like they’re fighting demons and it takes everything in my power to not say, “you know, you should eat more fiber.” Every. Time.
@@lichtsprecherI take fiber tabs and on top of that I eat plenty of fiber yet I'm always backed up. CT scan shows it too. But I was born constipated, probably leave constipated.
If you are taking lots of fibre, you need to drink plenty of water too. Because too much fibre without enough fluids will clog you up too. Suggest 2 glasses of water for each dose of fibre. This is on top of a normal fluid intake.
I second that. I just rounded off a two week streak of constipation name to ibs-c. It is no joke! While the story is extremely hilarious, It sounds extremely familiar😂

My husband has this happen at least three times a year, (has NASH and doesn’t like taking lactulose and has a narrowing in colon where they took part out and reattached) so he has a narrowing and if the stool gets too big it won’t pass so he gets admitted at the hospital with them telling him it’s a blockage and me explaining the narrowing so they end up giving him a lactulose enema (since he won’t take it by mouth..his ammonia goes to 150 and he’s so out of his head they have to tie his hands to bed so he doesn’t pull his nasal tube out..if he only take his med..he should be singing “if I only had a brain”😂😂

A guy ran into the ER at a hospital my mom worked at. He claimed to be having a heart attack. He said that he had been listening to the radio, while driving and it described the symptoms. He decided that he was experiencing those symptoms and drove to the nearest hospital. He did have shortness of breath but not much else even after extensive testing. Later they found out that he couldn’t find parking in the hospital parking lot, so he parked across the street. He then ran across the 6 lane highway, through the parking lot which was about 4 blocks. Then around the hospital to the back, where the entrance to the ER was located. He was simply exhausted after running more than 1 mile.
Man I literally went to the hospital for heart palpitations, chest pain, the works and I went down pretty much exactly like that. Was no fun and super embarrassing lol

I've seen something similar happen. The older lady had one family member with them in the ER. She had belly pain we could not treat until the doctor completed testing and knew what she was dealing with. The lady apparently felt neglected. She called family and told them she was dying. Suddenly the waiting room was full of upset, crying family members giving her plenty of attention and harrassing the staff. Yup, it was lots of poop. None of them stuck around for the enemas and clean up.
Tmi, but I have IBS C. One night I got so bloated and so uncomfortable I could barely walk or talk in a full sentence. So off the ER I went.
