      alcohol actually happens naturally from rotting fruits, cheese and yeasted bread was probably us letting things sit for too long. Eating healthy poop to cure diarrhea, kinda logical insist it when medicine at the time was from beliefes. Still better then just chugging mercury and lead

      I think the first sentence about turmeric is only effective fresh is false. Surprisingly fresh turmeric gives less yellow color compared to its dried counterpart and turmeric is used either dried or powdered and rarely fresh.

      tumeric is not solely effective when fresh. dehydrate it fresh for best color and flavor while dry, then grind in coffee grinder.

    The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet Mohamed ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy.

    But is it only camels? The way it's mentioned, that the bacteria helps other large herbivores process vegetation in the gut says no but I'm not sure. Now I'm wondering if there is some kind of fermented drink from camel turds, like those coffee grains they have an animal eat so they poop a "better" and less acidic coffee. Edit: minutes googling, now I know what jenkem is but it isn't relate to camels and "yuck".

    This was prescribed by the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to some ppl who were sick at that time (before 1400 years).
    {وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ}
    (3) Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.
    [An-Najm:3]
    {إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ}
    (4) It is not but a revelation revealed,

    The Holy Qur'an emphasises about how significant Camels are in several places like (Chapter 30, Surah 88 Al-Ghashiyah [The Overwhelming], Verse 17: "Do they not look at camels, how they are created")

      Anas said, "Some people of `Ukl or `Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy.............
      this hadith is from al-Bukhari book which is considered the most authentic or creditable book for muslims after Quran.

    I'm from Algeria and yes, Saharian people here use camel poop to make fire for cooking, just like charcoal.

    Here in northeast Brazil old people treated fungi infections, warts and other skin conditions with cow dung.
    And it's not fake, it really worked, and fast

      You're missing the point.
      They didn't have a book telling them eating camel poop would cure a disease.
      So why'd anyone ever eat it?
      Same thing with elk(I think) herders figuring out if they let the animals eat a particular plant that's poisonous to humans, they could drink the pee and get high........
      Why did anyone ever try?

      That's why they got super hungry and literally ate anything they could get their hands on. Especially if they were poor and sick.

    Dude I think... I think I'd just die. Eating the dried stuff would be bad enough but I reckon I could if I really had to but the fresh stuff would be way too many things at once. The gross texture, the warmth that you know is from the bowels of a camel, and of course the taste. I don't see how I'd get any down without projectile vomiting my entire digestive system into orbit.
