The GABBA is awful for what it is. Seriously outdated and it’s going to be a disaster up there with the Games.
I reckon you’ve mistaken Optus Stadium because I’ve seen a number of videos of the 10 best stadiums in the world with Optus Stadium being one of them and not any other stadium in Australia.
GMHBA is only a sponsorship name. The Geelong Football Club would love to name the ground Ford Stadium, unfortunately the Ford motor company clashes with the AFL's major sponsor the Toyota motor company. So that is why since the late 90s, Kardinia Park (that's the original name) has been renamed with different sponsors.

I loved the G, huge but too big. From the top tiers the players look like ants and you feel a bit separated from the atmosphere of the game. Sadly the outside of the stadium looks like an ongoing engineering project. I would of put Optus at number one. Ultra modern superb amenities, amazing lighting, the whole ground gives off a great vibe and the location on the banks of the Swan river and views over the city, public transport and external facilities it's just a stunning piece of engineering.

I agree Optus is a great stadium, but it has no history, no backstory, it also has no loyalty from local fans when the teams are not playing well. The mcg is one of the worlds greatest stadiums, birthplace of test cricket and AFL and used year round, has crowds in excess of 3.5mpa. The MCG is Australia’s greatest stadium. Maybe not the best viewing, but certainly the most revered stadium in the country.
1. The MCG is great for atmosphere when full but it’s a deeply deficient venue as an actual venue. 2. Adelaide? Unless you are South Australia there is simply no excuse for this. 3. Optus - I can only assume you’ve never been and/or were drunk when you wrote this.
@@JCStorm76It’s old, the seating and visibility is relatively second rate in many areas of the ground. The facilities and services are again relatively second rate. IMO Optus is the best oval stadium in the country and if the people building the new one in Hobart have any sense, they will look at Optus for how to do it RIGHT.
MCG at No1 but ONLY if you're not up on the top deck towards the back where the players look like ants, which probably accounts for roughly a third of its capacity.
Aesthetics vary from person to person, but one thing Optus has over the rest of the top 5 is objectively superior sightlines. Particularly in the ground bowl where the gradient at Optus is must better than the 12° MCG, 11° Marvel, and the pathetically shallow 9° Adelaide Oval and SCG. Optus Stadiums bowl is far move broken up than unobservant people have noticed.
I like your vids but unfortunately this one is kind of pointless...It's not fair to rate stadiums on a number of parameters . The part time stadiums are exactly that and cannot compete . Would be better to rank the major city ones separately to them either in a different video or in two sections of same vid . Also nobody rates like this the playing surfaces which is a pretty critical part of our game . Could you do that sometime ? Loved the crowd attendances etc vid ...that was very interesting
sorry but Optus is "LEAGUES" above any other on so many levels, this stadium NOT by means/meme/stuck in time but is from the community, way before the first dirt was dug for it like ground is laser flat, the handicap, top rated services EVEN for out of state teams not just home teams there is FOURTEEN seats UP on that roof
Wow you really shat the bed on the top 3! Adelaide over Optus? You're 100% kidding yourself! Number 1 is also slightly debatable on State of the Art Venues when you're talking 'Best', however you can't not give it to the MCG for all it's history & capacity.
I've been at the MCG when two Melb clubs played and it was shocking with no atmosphere. Average. All it has going for it is size. But its ugly and plain vanilla.
MCG is your number one, but you didn't back it up with facts that make it better, only focusing on previous deeds. Optus & Adelaide Oval shits on it and I am not from WA or SA. I'd say you're biased towards the MCG and based that and nothing else.
You've got it all wrong any ground with standing room is always better. I've stopped going to AFL games since Kadina park got rid of its last piece of standing room. Watching footy in sears drinking mid strength out of a plastic cup surrounded by security guards and up tie people that have a flip out if someone gets looses there shit is no fun at all. Not to mention stupid electronic garbage advertising pushing some crap in your face that no wants or needs. AFL is so much worse than it was in the 80s and 90s, no characters left with the fing media turning nothing stories into a circus. All the rule changes, players getting rubbed out for 3 or 4 weeks for very minor bumps. AFL is all money and hand jobs I can't even watch it on tele.

You marked Optus down for being a “bowl” but the mcg is the exact same, I’m from Melbourne and Optus is well above any stadium
The Gabba is such a sad stadium for Brisbane I agree with where you put it. Definitely sad that we won’t be getting a new stadium with current plans hopefully they go ahead with Victoria park as Brisbane needs a new high capacity stadium like the other cities
Alice Springs ground is amazing that’s in my opinion tho as well as the Darwin one
Good list. I'm not surprised that the MCG is #1, but when it comes to supporter facilities they are second rate and awful.
Optus could be #2 if the stadium wasn't stuck out in the sticks.
Stuck out in the sticks? You are joking aren't you 😅 it's in east Perth
@@ACDZ123 its an hours walk from anything. Perth missed an opportunity to bring life back to the CBD. The game ends and then you're on a. bus home. At Subi you could eat out with the family afterwards - the place pumped. I agree with Horse. Great stadium but poorly positioned.
i reckon optus over adelaide but still awesome video keep it up
Awesome video
As a sydney sider, i liked optus stadium.... despite it when i went was 40k patronage, its was wicked and good views, even from nose bleed sections. Also haven't been for a game, but wandered adelade oval during some open day when i was there, i think its would be almost on par than optus stadium in terms of atomsphere.
I feel when a-league teams of their retrospective teams during the grand finals (think 2016 and something else), its was fucking wicked, even make afl a yarn. As a WSW fan when they played adelade in adelade oval during some grand final, kinda wanted to headed there.
I’m loyal to the stadium
You don't watch the Scorchers much do you?
1. The MCG is great for atmosphere when full but it’s a deeply deficient venue as an actual venue.
2. Adelaide? Unless you are South Australia there is simply no excuse for this.
3. Optus - I can only assume you’ve never been and/or were drunk when you wrote this.
Deeply deficient? In what way? You criticise his top 3 list but came up with no counter list of your own
@@JCStorm76It’s old, the seating and visibility is relatively second rate in many areas of the ground. The facilities and services are again relatively second rate.
It’s not close to Optus in any aspect except atmosphere when 100k are there for a GF. Which is a positive, but as an overall venue it needs a serious upgrade. I mean one assumes you’ve been to Optus right?
@@Andrew_AU I have. You make some good points about the MCG but you do know that 80% of the grandstand and stadium has been updated this century?
@@JCStorm76 I went to a few games at the G this year and last, so yes.
I live in Melbourne and only been to the Mcg twice I won’t again I haven’t been to Optus stadium yet although it does have a better setup the way the stands are.
Manuka and Giants are both way behind the Tassy stadiums I think. Both grounds are soulless.
Meh rankings should ask players which surfaces are the best to play on. That would be a better ranking.
4:58 you have got to be kidding me. I’m going to a game at this stadium in a couple hours.
I was down in Launceston last weekend and have to say it is such a beautiful spot. Next visit will be Hobart...
100% agree on the Gabba. Brisbane deserves a better cricket and footy stadium than that
Nonsense - TIO Stadium is an amazing stadium, with a wonderful atmosphere
Utas stadium I've played footy there and best surface in Australia.
I just finished watching your all vdos 😅
4:50 that's why the new stadium at Mac Point was proposed for the Tassie team, Bellerive sucks balls.
Worked Security at The Gabba. With the condition of the structure you don’t see. The place needs to be condemned.
the functionality of the MCG is horrific Optus is the most functional stadium in Aus
I agree with most of your ranking with the exception of Docklands stadium. Kadinia Park and the SCG are clearly better venues.
The Docklands statium has had so many name changes, I have lost track. Everyone knows what stadium ot is when people call it the Docklands Stadium.
sorry but Optus is "LEAGUES" above any other on so many levels, this stadium NOT by means/meme/stuck in time but is from the community, way before the first dirt was dug for it like ground is laser flat, the handicap, top rated services EVEN for out of state teams not just home teams
there is FOURTEEN seats UP on that roof
Wow you really shat the bed on the top 3! Adelaide over Optus? You're 100% kidding yourself! Number 1 is also slightly debatable on State of the Art Venues when you're talking 'Best', however you can't not give it to the MCG for all it's history & capacity.
He overrated AO I agree with you on that part
Anyone that thinks Optus isn't the best stadium in the world, hasn't been there.
Mcg is overated as fuck. You mark optus down for being "boring" but the MCG is literally the same. Only thing it has is capacity.
And history. Lots and lots of it.
Are you living in Melbourne?
Wait, 23 mil for grass? Damnnn
I went to the MCG for the 2024 grand final great stadium but its not better than Optus Stadium no way!!!
It’s better in every single way.
Move the SCG up one. Have PFS jump the Gabba and Geelong
having optus at 3, yikes
It's a biased list as always lol.
Also the blunt stone arena is ok i would put it about 15
Could not agree more with the scg camera angle
As someone who gets to go to a lot and I mean alot of games. Optus Stadium is clearly better than Adelaide
before 1k subs gang
Can't disagree with this, utas should be lower due to the outdated facilities and seating
New stand at Kardinia Park has standing room
freo will smash melbourne at traeger on sunday
Being big,old & having alot of history by no means make it the best. MCG is great .... But the best ? 🤔
Mt Barker a real sad ground. How it's an AFL ground is truly embarrassing
its only temporary. But I went to the gather round game. The view is awesome and the food and drink is off the charts.
No way Adelaide oval is above optus stadium..even the mcg is debatable
Its the location.
The MCG is pretty overrated. If it didn’t hold 100k it would struggle to even be top 5. It’s old and tired and needs redevelopment.
The AFL says optus stadium is the best stadium
I think the Gabba is better then Adelaide
Great video
Marvel has to be way lower in my opinion, genuinely can't stand going there which sucks given I'm a saints supporter.
The Gabba is not a better stadium then Energie and People First its a dump that's falling apart
Gmhba above marvel marvel is shit and Gabba is easily the worst primary afl stadium
I don't like your ranking. You obviously from Adelaide
