It takes a special kind of person to win down here in Jax. Players down here don’t always get the natl recognition they deserve sometimes, but when they do, it truly means they’re performing at one the league’s highest level.
Personall accolades like Pro Bowls, year end awards etc… are always an uphill battles compared to players in bigger markets.
That’s why I’ve always said, it’s going to take a special type of player & person, to bring a championship to Duval County. Someone that’s made of something stronger than normal, & whose motivations & intentions are pure & not self-centered.
This city has had great players in the past but lacked that special type of grit to make winning a tradition here. So they hightailed out cuz they weren’t strong enough to be a foundation.
All this to say, there is no doubt, that winning here is unlike winning anywhere else in pro sports. Win here, and your aren’t just celebrated, you are treated like gods.
There’s no city like this one, there’s no other pro sports team or sports figure for this fanbase to spread out its passion. Become a winner here, & you become the most celebrated figure in the entire NE FL.
Bring a championship here, & the legacy left behind would be one of a kind. Your legend will be goat like, cuz it will be the 1st this city has ever experienced.
No other place can provide that potential legacy. SF has had the Montanas/Rice, Ny had Ruth/Reggie, Chi Jordan/Pippen.
Jax has yet to cross that threshold in pro sports, and the 1st will be the legend of legends. That’s why winning here is special, & why it takes a special kind of player to be a winner here.

More than glad to have you sir! Work hard. Enjoy the weather! Camp is going to be hot! Get acclimated ASAP when summer hits! Spring time and early winter is beautiful weather (best in the country if you ask me and ive been all over this country). There are def a lot of food options here. Gotta hit up Angie's! You will learn the significance of a Publix sub! Enjoy the beaches man. Seriously! They arent the most beautiful in FL because we are a marshy area and the water from the St. Johns going into the ocean mucks it up a little. But they are still great beaches. Gotta check out the close by springs while you are here! I recommend the Ichetuknee for your first spring to visit and enjoy! Trust me you will want to go every summer! Obviously named after Andrew Jackson. Used to be called Cowford but thank god that changed. Dont go to Moncrief unless its to help the area! You will learn the diff areas. Mandarin is nice. South Side is nice. North side is very country! Westside has its nice areas and bad. Argyle (my area) is suburbia hell along with Orange Park (Clay County). We accept all the surrounding counties as if they were our own. Gotta hit up St. Augustine! Oldest city in America and its absolutely beautiful. Its getting more touristy now that its been discovered by more ppl but its still amazing! Got the PGA tour at Sawgrass every yr. Jax beach is quaint and is your prototypical beach town! Ponte Vedra is very very nice! O-Town (Orlando) is only a 2.5 hour drive so Disney/Universal is super close (Epic Universe is opening in 2025 so you picked a good time to live close by). Tampa is cool as well. Daytona is 80miles south so gotta check out a Daytona 500 if you can plus bike week! Miami is 6 hours away same with Everglades. Key West just below that is always a time! Gotta hit Duval St. in Key west if you go! Have great College sports here with the Noles, Canes and Gators of course along with UCF and USF. Jacksonville is the birthplace of Hollywood and Southern Rock. If you are into brewerys we have some awesome ones all over the 904 area code! Got a little ranty there but wanted to give you the highlights. We are a small big town. We are big military town. We have 2 bases (NAS and Mayport). Great Fishing (I recommend Endless Summer Charters). Its laid back but we can get rowdy! Enjoy yourself man. Players come and when they get a taste a lot of them stay or frequent coming back. Hell we even have a Jags player who has become JSO. Welcome to the Bold City of the South! Congrats sir!
