- Although I fell asleep on stream a number of times, I eventually finished watching the Tekken World Tour and catching up on all of the news. These are my thoughts.

Hopefully, they address these issues in the coming months, but at this point I doubt it.

I really wish that they would just put arcade mode, death mode, tekken force , time attack, something for the single players that don’t like getting online. I drop the game after I beat story mode and character mode and that mini training mode

I can’t wait for Anna to come to the game. I bet she’ll have a level-up mechanic that makes her guns and other weapons do more damage and create more forced 50/50’s

I checked out a bit of the TWT and seeing so many Jins was pretty crazy, but he’s OP so im not that surprised. And it’s cool that Anna is coming back. Her plus the heat system when she’s already a 50/50 based character should be interesting..

Really excited to see Anna coming back. Nina’s my favorite character and her rivalry with her sister is my favorite in the series. Happy to see her back especially because now I got another main

I’m still just sitting here hoping that one day they will add a Tekken force mode to 8 instead of it just being one level in the story mode. I’m all for online content, but sometimes i’d like to do something fun offline as well when i get overwhelmed with ranked
I wouldn't hold ya breath. They seem entirely focused on online play.

I hope there’s either more risk to heat or they give more defensive options to deal with heat
I think they should make heat like the special bar in Mk, where you have to get hits to charge it, then you get one or two moves before its empty again.
I wouldnt be surprised if lei doesnt get added. Hes such a resource heavy character to make with how many moves he has just for him to be played by like 10 people.
A fighting game without drunken style ? What a let down. If Lei is too heavy to do, they could do a new character. No need of all the kung-fu moves, but drunken fist is a must.
Alright now I'm interested again, Anna for Season 2 but I'm hoping the gameplay gets better, also I hope the guest character is Scorpion from MK, Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden & DOA, Yujiro Hanma from Baki or Agito Kanoh from Kengan Ashura!
I am really excited for season 2 balance man. This last char has to be fire I cant wait to see who it is.
Mike,Thanks for highlighting the fact that you can lose to any character in Tekken. I think Pro and and general Tekken players always forget that as well. Remember when they introduced ghost battles where you could pick your next opponent? Think it started in Tekken 5 or 6. But bro I used to avoid the Bears, Wang, King, Lei, like the plague 😂. It’s like you said you can lose to any character in Tekken. The Bear beatdowns do not surprise me one bit😂
I was a Ganon main in the melee days, he was often considered low-mid tier. Not sure how much thats changed nowadays.
I remember him being lighter than snake in brawl lol i think he was so bad he had his own teir.
In ultimate he feels like a beast (pun not intended) with his power and sword, at least casually.
Edit 9:37 ganon had thebG teir as apposed to metaknights s teir as the only chacters with their one teir at one point
Ganon mains were suffering whenever someone picked Fox 😂 I've never seen a character get juggled more than that.
Ganon in project m has a mage variation which embodies his strength with mana

For the 30th anniversary of Tekken, I was completely underwealmed with the announcements. They just announced things we would naturally get in the season passes.
Can't disagree there, brother. It was a bit of a miss and things we expected.

My guess is Tifa or Majima from Yakuza. Both of them are characters from games that are nominated for goty and they would fit well. Majima is also about to get his standalone game. I’m hoping for Tifa though with how much people spammed Harada already about her for years

Season 2 looks hype I’m interested to see what new heat moves they add and if they do a city of the wolfs collab I think it will be whatever boss is in that game or terry

I'm not a huge fan of Akira since I don't know a lot about him but I'd think him being DLC would be cool
I'd try to learn more though that before the new VF comes out
I think they're just giving characters a *hold forward* option for heat smashes that only have one heat smash right now
I hope it's more nuanced than that. Would be good if you could use heat in different ways depending on how much meter you have available.
@@RealMikeHollow hmm, not sure how that would work, but the "hold forward" variation for the heat smash would be quick and easy implementation, you can get feng's reg heat smash if you don't hold forward still, but I think maybe they'll change it to where if you're getting juggles while in heat, the meter won't pause from draining anymore, idk, we'll see I guess, lol
Sad no tekken collection but the Anna tease was well played
as someone who mostly plays other (2d) fighting games I always thought tekken as a core game is probably the most balanced fighting game ever. no matter how broken or weak certain characters are, the high mid low + sidestep and ground teching system truly allows for any character to win, because the player who is better at reading their opponent would have more of a chance to win compared to other FGs.
when I first started learning tekken and found out that every single low attack is punishable on block, I thought "wow, this is actually genius". the main way to open up your opponent can always always be punished if they block it. the system allows for so many reads and comebacks naturally without forced comeback mechanics if you can make a few good decisions in a row. there are truly no doom matchups like in 2d games because tekken has no 2d concepts like zoning or true vortex (you can stay on the ground in tekken) that truly make some matchups in 2d games nigh unwinnable. the delta between the ranges of attacks from the smallest to the biggest is also a lot lower than 2d games, not even taking projectiles into account.
thats why i think tekken doesn't need any system mechanics, its just good on its own and the other stuff detracts from it rather than adding.
I hope its a VF character. It can work since they got a "new" game and it can help promote VF5 Revo. Who knows.

as a casual player my issue is theres not enough content and modes like the old games but for competitive fixing some gameplay issues and punishing rage quitters seems like a must.
The only Tekken Original characters I can think of that would top Heihachi in terms of reveal for the other DLC character would be Ancient Ogre, or Jinpachi Mishima.
Those are literally the only two but I imagine they'd save one of them for season 2.

Respectfully might have to disagree with you about viability of every character. I will acknowledge that I do need to get better but I question if characters like Leroy and Raven are viable? If I recall most characters in top ten of the TWT where high to top tier outside of Shadow 20z's Zafina?
Other than that great vid as always. Totally with you on them needing to deal with cheaters.

Hopefully Harada turns this game around going forward and we all have a more enjoyable game going forward.
The Ranked experience in Tekken 8 is abysmal and the devs did not made any mention of improving ranked.

All they’re doing is recreating the roster from 7 and it’s honestly disappointing.
There are more characters that we haven’t seen that aren’t clones that could’ve been added.

Most likely it will be very early on. This is not their event, nor is Tekken nominated for goty.

I’m not a fan of Guest characters
There are so many missing Tekken characters that should be in the game, so a guest character would be like Panda… a WASTE of a Slot

Has to be Keisuke. His Kazuya is insane.

As a Kazuya main myself, the answer is obvious: Keisuke all the way! And even though he was eliminated, he made a pretty good run... even defeated Ulsan's Dragunov!
I will say if it’s Terry Bogard, that’ll be an absolute snooze fest for me. But also hella funny considering how many people customized their mains to look like him when T8 first dropped.

Why do they come up with these convoluted ways of going about pluggers, insted of just giveing the guy who stayed the points as if it was a win!
Oh but they cant do that, you say. Well apparently they can, because the game has two different opened connections to their servers in any given ranked match (apart from the obvious p2p stuff). Whenever a user is left alone all they have to do is just ping another user via this connection and if they're not there VOILA!
I suspect their mm and statistic servers might not be made inhouse so every little change literally costs them money. If that's the case then things are even more screwed up that they seem.

Panda is legit the only bad character only cause you can play Kuma, which has the better heat but technically that wouldn't count I guess
I'd say Panda is useless because of Kuma but not bad by any means.

I'm almost certian the guest character will be Goku. The background for each DLC character has matched their outfit color and design. Eddy was green, Heihachi was Blue, Lidia was Red. Orange = Goku. Heat will be Kaioken and he'll have a meter/installs to go Super Saiyan 1,2 or 3.
I dont think it was coincidence they were begging the playerbase to go vote for Tekken 8 for FG of the year so Sparking Zero doesnt win. Goku, bank on it.

I could say the same thing about your opinion as you said about camera modes and costumizations, the difference is that my opinion would be at least have some logic behind it.

He’s constantly criticizing Tekken though. Still doesn’t change the fact that the game is far from trash, no matter how much you yap about it, it won’t be the reality. If it was trash, people would play Tekken 7 instead like how they are playing mk11 over mk1. Well, that’s not happening here, because no one in their right mind would play other Tekken over 8.

She's definitely not a palette swap. She plays very differently to Nina in Tekken 7 and she's more of a 50/50 machine.
Surprised you said this without mentioning Heihachi, who is also arguably a pallette swap who should have been in base roster. Of course, he also kinda points out the flaw with your argument, having similar characters with notable differences is actually great for games. Anna would have been better than Panda, at least, now there's a character that would have been IMPROVED if it was just a swap.

You're just yapping bro 😂 The roster size is fine and it's the biggest of any of the major fighting games. Some characters will have to miss the base. I agree that some like Kazuya never should, but acting like Tekken short hands us on the size of it's roster is cap when Tekken 7 had a similar base roster as well as 6. With DLC, it's likely 8 will have the biggest roster of the numbered games. It's okay if you don't know what a palette swap is. Just gotta ask and someone will let you know. It's all good.
