- STORYTIME: The time when Otis Williams hooked up with Paul's cousin and it didn't end well.
Around 1964, the Temptations arrived in Birmingham, Alabama. As they were getting off the tour bus, Paul Williams cousin happened to spot Otis and immediately wanted to hook up with him. Tempted by his presence, she goes on saying as Otis says in the interview, "Ooh, Paul that's the one! I like him." So, Paul calls out Otis to meet and introduce her to him. Otis greeted her by introducing himself but she already knew who he was by replying, "Yes, I know and what are you doing after the show?" Otis replies, "Well, once we're done with the show we're just gonna go back and rest for our next engagement." She would quickly ask if it was alright if she can come along and he agreed. But the thing is, she was already married and her husband had just got out of Vietnam. She told Otis not to worry about it and she'll take care of the situation.
So one night, he and Smokey Robinson's nephew Tyrone Burton were in a room listening to tapes. Paul's cousin would soon come by and hang out mainly with Otis. All of sudden, someone was banging on the door while saying, "Open the door, motherf*cker! I know she's in there!" It actually happened to be her husband, who had just came back from Vietnam. As both were frightened, Otis asked if that was who he think it was and she replied, "Yes, that's my husband." He was confused, as he thought she took care of the situation but she don't even know how he found out where she was at. Her husband proceeded to bang on the door and say, "If you don't open this door, I'm gonna kick this son of gun down!" After a minute went by, he stopped yelling and banging on the door. They eased their way up to the door and he was gone. Once they noticed he was gone, Otis got her up out of his room and took this as a life lesson. Never mess with another man's woman while they're married. Otis Williams was 22 years old when this event happened.

Yeah, I remember this story from Otis's book. Thankfully no one got hurt.
That's the truth when you have to face jealous husbands boyfriends and fathers.
I had a similar experience I was 23 yrs. Pro basketball player. Entered the place where I worked. We talked he wanted my phone number. He called on a Saturday afternoon he came to my house. As I was standing in the door, a car pulled up and parked, a woman got out . I asked him who she was. He the D!! word that's my wife. I said, like Ray Charles song. Hit the road Jack don't you come back no more no more. You better hope the men in my family don't hear about this. It could be the end of your basketball career. That was the end of that.

@@brendathompson2378 I am not Otis Williams or connected with the Temptations in any way, this is just a fan channel dedicated to the Temptations. But in the future I do plan on making my own version of the Temptations story and do it the right way. If it ever happens, stay tuned. Hopefully Otis is still around when it happens
