Absolutely. If there is demand for the products & services, 24 hour economy will work. JDM should come again because he is continuously proving to be deficient in innovative thinking
If you want to know the gripse of the 24hrs economy, just look at 31st Dec night Shops are open, trotro drivers are working It will definitely help us Only if it is implement rightly
This proposal is innovative and feasible. Instead of doubting it, let's explore its potential. Consider the commentator's acknowledgment that certain SMEs are already implementing it. So, why not embrace the notion as promising and focus on brainstorming ways to ensure its success?
are u fucken serious ? Which innovation are you talking . Some of you really display your ignorance to the highest height .24 hours economy will only be feasible depended on the private sector and the demand and supply .The economy of Ghana is already 24 hour running ,so where is the innovation here . Too pedestrian the least to say
@@josephoparewhat has Bawumia's digitalization brought us so far, it's just a new way to tax us in the form of E levy. Completely breaking his promise to move us from taxation to production. He is a joke and the digitalization initiative is also a joke and his supporters are jokes as well.
@@AYTM1200 I think you need a better understanding of the benefits of the digitalizaion. These are some of the benefits. For example 1. Traveling to Ghana from abroad now with my Ghana card without applying for a visa because of digitalization. 2. We now have a national database system to track every citizen to increase the tax net for all citizens to pay their taxes for national development. 3. You can transfer money across the Telcos now known as mobile money interoperability. 4. Reducing corruption in both the public and private sectors by eliminating payments through human interfaces. 5. People are doing their businesses online now because of the Digital Address system. Creating more jobs. 6. Very soon your Ghana card will be linked to social security, insurance, law enforcement which will reduce crime. Tons of ghost names remove from government pay rolls. 7. No more guarantors for student loans because of digitalization. 8. Intrest rates from the banks will go down because of proper identification system. Just to name a few. Yes we're gradually moving from taxation to production which is the 1d1f policy, but we need to increase the tax net first through digitization to capture more small business to also pay some small taxes. .
There's no way Ghana can operate 24hour economy when there's no demand for anything produce from Ghana. Some people just don't think. All over the world essential services like health, security, fire, immigration etc already operate 24hour. No private sector will operate 24hour shift if there's no demand for the product. Even in USA and Europe, 24hour companies are just 7% of the private sector. Although they have 24 hour economy, the 24hour economy is purely digital. That's why in the West you can do everything in the night on your phone or computer. So this has vendicated Dr Bawumia as an intelligent person to lead the country.
Mediocrity is when I can’t explore the possibility of transferring money from my account directly but to get gov. provide security for MTN operator at night for me to go and send money. Eiii obibi nii nso y3 nipa oo
Is this man really an economist? I’m beginning to doubt his credentials because his take on this topic is too elementary. He is not speaking to the potential benefits but outright admonishing of the idea. I mean even an illiterate mokola woman will agree that 24hr economy will expand the Ghanaian economy and it can be beneficial to certain people. JDM is trying to change the culture from 9-5 to 24hrs and that is visionary. Period!!!
Lets stop rewarding mediocrity Bawumia and Mahama ,you are shallow and not fit to lead a country like Ghana looking at where the world is going, I love u both but Ghanaians' should vote for other candidates if they make sense, I always like Joe Jackson's rationality, those NPP sympathizers who assume this man is against them should see he doesn't care about party he would say it how it is.First time I head Mahama talk about this I laughed and laughed, governments should focus on the basics, the market would determine by itself if 24hour operation is needed.
The same Mahama who used less than 220 billion Cedis within 4years to build so many infrastructures accross the country can be trusted than the Nana Addo's NPP that has used over 800 billion cedis in 7years but cannot point to any sensible achievement.

Joe Jackson as an economist should look at the bigger picture. What is AftA for? Think big.
