Listen to the APU and the engine start up, just like in a jet fighter aircraft, while the rotor starts to rotate. Then get literally blown away as the heli lifts off the ground just in front of you and flies a series of impressive manoeuvres over Tatoi Airfield's runway 03-21, as well as touch and go's combined with wheelies to impress the spectators of Athens Flying Week 2013! A truly spectacular display!

Today we acquired 22 of them.
I trained a couple Greek Apache Pilots years ago... great guys, very capable.
Boeing has been doing a phenomenal job improving our Apaches... the E model is -by far- the ultimate Attack Helo. All single rotor helos have a speed limiting aerodynamic issue called "retreating blade stall." Apaches also operate (T/O to landing) much closer to their max gross weight and they're less aerodynamic due to their role on the battlefield. Each of these things lower it's max cruise speed, but it's plenty fast and protects itself and ground guys very well. I'm proud to say I flew about 3,600 hours in them and made it home afterwards with all my moving parts.

i've seen them in action on the range at ft. riley kansas and i've seen them in action in desert storm...THEY ARE AMAZING TO WATCH. it's like a flying tank. SO GLAD THEY WERE ON OUR SIDE LOLOL. GODSPEED to those pilots.
Outstanding helicopter, I had the privilege of touring the Apache helicopter manufacturing plant back in the mid 90's.

Attack helicopters aren't meant to takedown other attack helicopters also the ka-52 can also easily get shot down by a ac-130 or anything it ain't no superior just because your good doesn't mean you are 100 percent guaranteed to take down the enemy

Rotor Hed we fly them together with Deltas and in a few months we will use Kiowas as the ‘’eyes’’ of the Alpha model Apaches , because of their better avionics .
