It has been pointed out that in the movie the ship was sunk by a German Spy acting as a Commander (Co-Captain) sunk the ship with a bottle that made a big explosion. In a lot of videos with Sleeping Sun about the Britannic they say it was a torpedo. What actually happened the first torpedo missed and another crew member shot the other one. So the only explainable reason is that a few miles ahead another U-Boat left a Mine. There has been quite a few historians that still believe it was a torpedo but that's not true. Now I am not completely sure but I am just going with what most historians said.
The general consensus among historians is that it was just a mine. There was an explosion, which could have been either, but even at the time, the investigation concluded that a mine was far more likely.
a u boat originally spotted HMHS Britannic and was about to shoot it but upon lookout it was determined as a hospital ship, and later the britannic hits a mine

Olympic never sank, she completed her whole life service, took some serious hits throughout it but was retired after white star and cunard merged to form the next line of ships, making her and cunard's Mauretania obsolete and leaving the Aquitania the only ship of those 6 giants in service
It couldve stayed afloat with closed flooded compartments, though when the waterline raised it began taking water on where the windows are opened by the nurses, basically they blundered their own ship's survivability unintentionally
this disaster would have been way more tragic had their been patients on board, at the time the hospital ship was only carrying nurses, doctors and crew which is why only 30 people died on the brittanic compared to 1,997 people on the Lusitania and 1,500 on the titanic
