Also: At the end, Wander sees that the Poison Sprayers did 20k damage and ballistas did 10k, and said the sprayers did 2x as much; but he didn't account for the 16k status-effect damage, which was almost definitely 90% poison from Spores+Expunge crits.
Mana bolts 2 is a trap. The first level only uses 1 mana for +3 damage which is great but level 2 is, from what I can tell, an additional +3 mana for +3 damage, which is not nearly as cost efficient. I've yet to make much progress on three lane, but one of the hardest parts is that you can't make a singular killbox, and the more it spreads out, the harder it gets, as the more coverage your towers have on various lanes, the better. Poison sprayers, however, I think are OP. Creeping Cough turns their AoE into an instant slow zone, meaning they just keeping hitting more and more in addition to any towers supporting them. 3-4 sprayers that can point at each other goes a long way, especially once you get their crit up and get Expunge. They start doing some pretty scary damage as the game goes on doing that. Also, in general, Universities are pretty much required to win in my experience. Getting +10 to +15 in everything by wave 40 makes a huge difference. It sort of feels like once you hit level 25, most of your defenses should already be placed and you need to be on the lookout for occult shrines, get universities up to 20% in a specific damage, and then upgrade towers until you see another shrine. Not seeing one in your draws is unfortunate; I make sure to pick them up as soon as I see them, no matter how early, just in case. As for planning, portable portals and beholders will wreak you if you're not careful, as late lane enemy spawns can be the end of you. The robots are the first that do that with their two missles spawns, but they aren't the last.
The mana cost scales with the level of the tower like it does for the other towers that cost mana. As they get higher level their cost per shot goes up
Mana Bolts is a trap. Upgrading your ballistas makes them cost more mana, but does not increase the 3 damage benefit. It primarily benefits the early game, while significantly penalizing the late game; difficulty, however, is highest in the late game (waves ~25 + 40), and easiest in the early game. Much better off skipping mana bolts, and just using tower upgrades to easily push through first ~15 waves.
Tip: before the last round dumping a ton of gold into universities helps a Lot. Also just grabbing uber early game university so that you get all the bonus upgrades to it even before being able to place them adds up a lot
okay just a thought on the whole idea of tile selection, what if they made a Catan style tile placement, you get a new tile, but can choose where they are placed, so you have slightly more control, but not enough to make it easy?
Or how about a completely new tech tree, focused on path control? Call it Pathfinding or something. Then you'd have to choose between a more controlled and favorable pathing, or more powerful towers?
I have everything unlocked and am having an awful time getting started on two lanes lol .When I do, I can't seem to find a strat to stop robo oogie. I hope more than me got the bicycle reference haha
These would be more fun to watch if you took advantage of good techniques. You get all these poison upgrade cards, poison is doing like 75% of your overall damage, but you spend most of your money on those ballistas. Imagine how good you could do it you thought things through more
Oh, quick fun fact- Universities are at peak production/cost ratio after about 7 upgrades, where overall cost/%chance is around 150 gold. Any higher or lower, and you pay more (As the base cost is 500 which needs to be diluted, while each new % point costs more and more) y = (500 + x(x+1)*10)/x Maths is fun, kids!
@@Vipertooth007 Welllll- Mostly useless, yeah Basically the only use is if you are limited by gold and have multiple slots (Lets say, 1500 gold, 3 university spots), you don't want to put down 3 universities, instead, you only wanna put the next university if you have 7 levels in the first one. Ofc, if you have the two research bonuses for +5% to everything, you just slap universities down as fast as you can

I've just noticed, the eldritch music is 7/4(?), which fits the abnormal nature of the theme. It also has 5/4 and 4/4.
I love how you always upload right when I get off work. Nice to wind down to
pretty good video triple splits can be pretty hectic if everything goes wrong.
I just bought the game and was wondering what I should buy for upgrades at the beginning, then someone asked and he answered. Fantastic.

FINALLY…he uses the poison sprayers🤦🏾🤷🏽♂️🥲
Love the content Wander👍
No way. Your channel was just recommend to me. I watch one of your videos, subbed, and bam an upload. Just totally unreal
XD same
He uploads a lot, get used to it lol
I just got a map that was single lane that capped off at level 32 and it just HAD to be the map where I wanted to go ballista and particle cannons
1:50 it seems that crit is by far the worst option early-game to take (+0% crit, -1 damage).
Isn't it always at least +1% crit? 😅
Congrats on a sweet triple lane win Wander.

I think you mean Carcassonne. But yeah, the point is valid.
That would be great if it was similar to carcassonne

@@nuclearphish8051 Yeah you could gain a queue that you upgrade to let it look ahead further and further and maybe even a swap slot like TETRIS
Leaving the spiral tiles till the endgame (when castles spawn commonly) so you could get centralized aoe boost
Big Brain

I just had a phenomenal poison/encampment run. I messed up on the very last level because I had big brain oogie come down my weakest lane.
Next time

Imagine how much fun you could have if you stopped caring about Optimization and just actually had fun
I dunno man having a mega ballista seems pretty fun to me

This doesn't really matter if you have a limited amount of shrines to use.

wander I love how you play for fun and not necessarily just for optimization!
Still playing on the old patch it seems
Why does the mana bar get smaller the more mana you have?
To represent the scaling of mana. More mana the bar gets smaller to represent the more mana
why is there not a option to speed up the game
Its hard to enjoy these videos since they all come out pre patch. I still want more content of this game. Just want relevant content is all....
