I hope you’re right. I’ve been rooting for this team since 1966. I’ve seen it many times before. You have to admit this guy has a very small skill set for someone pick 10 in the draft. One thing I know is when you’re inaccurate, it’s hard to change that.my guess is he’ll always be inaccurate
Year 3 is typical for NFL lineman to approach their ceiling ...even Year 4.😮
I think we might be surprised by Sam Darnald this is the first time he is with good system & coaching. He never had much of a chance anywhere else except San Francisco & there he had others ahead of him.
Based on how tough the schedule looks now, I think the Vikes would be happy with a 3 - 2 record. No reason to change qbs. If Darnold starts losing to weak teams, then look for a change to JJMc. What do you have to lose?
My hope is that KOC develops schemes, plays that show complexity for the other team and not for the Vikings.
Sounds like Kevin O'Connell is spoiled having Cousins. Now he has to work. he's not happy. O'Connell is not Jim Harbaugh.
I really want to be hopeful for a top 10 draft pick but the dude doesn’t have anything special to him besides winning which obviously is a big deal but he isn’t a Josh Allen, he isn’t a burrow, he isn’t a mahomes. Dude is just a good dude, saying he might breakout like Josh Allen is hilarious, Josh is a freak at qb and an unreal athlete. JJ is just a good leader and that’s about it really. Which I’m not saying is bad but is it really worth changing the offense or doing all these things for an okay football player but a good leader?
Read what you posted. The only thing that matters is winning. Josh Allen will never win. Lamar Jackson will never win.

The way the Vikings luck goes is Darnold will play well and the Vikings make the playoffs and deserve a bigger contract, but the Vikings won't resign him and start JJ and the latter will be average for about 3-4 years and KOC will be fired.
It always ends that way. Hopefully it doesn’t but…. I won’t be surprised it does.
Based on everything, I’ve read and heard. You have to believe KOC and Viking management are disappointed with the skill set they have inherited with McCarthy. You can see they are heavily managing the prospect and trying to hide this kid. I’m afraid we have another Gino Torretta on our hands. Gino is less Mobile than McCarthy, but was a much more prolific passer than JJ in comparison. Both national champions are about the same size. The big difference is Gino had no expectations. Placed on him whatsoever and the ranch has been bet on McCarthy. I hope I’m wrong, but I’ll bet you They’re very uneasy in Viking camp. They should’ve expected so much more out of a 10th pick
Dude, we aren't even in training camp yet. We specifically brought in Sam Darnold to give McCarthy time to develop, and the kid is barely drinking age. Let's not declare him a bust just yet.
I think it's way way too early to even speculate on whether McCarthy will be a bust or not. I'm so happy they're at least taking a shot at it for a change. With Cousins, the Vikings would have had a solid year, maybe finishing between 8-10 wins and a first or second round playoff loss. That would be just about a guarantee. By taking a chance on McCarthy, the Vikings could possibly crash and burn and get only five wins, but they also might win 14 games and go deep into the playoffs. I think as a fan the unknown is much more exciting than continual mediocrity. Clutch play, leadership, winning attitude, decision making, mobility, charisma, grit, etc. are not measured by a stopwatch.
You might be right. Who knows. I’ve watched this team for nearly 60 years. I’ve seen this before. Tell me the last time you saw an inaccurate quarterback. Learn to be accurate. Doesn’t usually happen. But I sure hope I’m wrong. Sure does look like a major downgrade from cousins though.
@@George_L-w7o well you got about 5 years on me. I've seen it all too. But he seems to make the plays when he has to and he's a winner wherever he's been. I'll give him a chance before I make any judgment. You know what you get with Cousins. Even though he's a proven commodity, he hasn't proven to be capable of taking a team all the way. Maybe McCarthy isn't either but we just don't know.
@@George_L-w7o Yeah, it's not something you want to count on. But I know they're changing his throwing mechanics so it'll look worse before it looks better. Josh Allen and Jalen Hurtz both got a lot better in that area. And I don't think McCarthy will fail for lack of effort. McCarthy certainly won't be at Cousin's level this year, though, I agree there! Wish we could've seen one last season with Kirk at full strength.
