Lyrics:
I never said I'd lie in wait forever
If I died, we'd be together, ow
I can't always just forget her
But she could try
At the end of the world or the last thing I see
You are never coming home, never coming home
Could I? Should I?
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever, ever
Ever get the feeling that you're never all alone?
And I remember now
At the top of my lungs in my arms, she dies, she dies
At the end of the world or the last thing I see
You are never coming home, never coming home
Could I? Should I?
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home, never coming home
Could I? Should I?
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me
If I fall
If I fall down
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
At the end of the world or the last thing I see
You are never coming home, never coming home
Never coming home, never coming home
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever going to haunt me
Never coming home, never coming home

66yo US ARMY RETIRED, this band and so many others in their genre in the 2000s were more than just punk-emo-or pop. They delt with subject matter that pretty bands wouldn't. I love and hate this song- but it was a song that needed to be written, needed to be sung, and fit to a part of a military person's life the civilians have no idea about, and nor do they want to. When you live a life where death is always there, Soldiers, Police, Firefighters, you know what's real, you know what's important, and you savor every day you can the ever-present Reaper from. And if you make it out, you look back at all who didn't and at a society that never will. So many heroes forgotten for so man fakes. A talent not forgotten in a music world of today where original music is castrated by untalented performers ruining the pure form so many iconic songs were written in from 60s to the 90s. I sure miss this and so many other bands from my better days. Bless the soldier and the families that support them.
I'm 36, a former emo kid (long hair, skinny jeans, band t-shirt, converse hi-tops, wrist bands) turned USMC Infantry vet (Afghanistan 11).
I got lucky and had a relatively chill deployment, but that being said I did lose a couple buddies over there; this song hits differently now.

Drunk atm and all up in my feelings n shit so started listening to some old music n ended up here.
My best friend and I from high school held each other like it was the last time we'd see each other while at their concert bc I was joining up to be a combat medic (91W back then, "health care specialist") and would be gone for boot camp within the month. Both of us knew our lives would be so different after I left...and we both knew I'd be (likely) in Iraq pretty soon after training.
Our battalion did indeed ship out 6 weeks after I got to my duty station.
We ugly cried during this song and just held one another bc she was convinced I wouldn't make it back alive. I wish I didn't.
This girl (now also a grown ass woman) helped me get through some tough ass shit, both my parents dead before I turned 15... So much other shit.

They spent a LOT of money on this, if I recall correctly they even got into a fight with their studio regarding the budget of the video but MCR really wanted to represent June 6th in the best possible way they could cause they knew it was important

This music is genius. Such amazing Energy it’s almost like it belongs on Broadway
The emotion that Gerard Way put into this song was absolutely amazing. He really channeled loss and this is what an artist is all about.❤ not being able to express it until it’s art.
The fact that Gerard's pupil shrank in shock like that at the end is proof alone how much soul went into making these. That's not just something you 'force' out and it gets me every time.
its because mikey is his everything and even though it was just acting he literally watched his little brother die #siblinggoals
The raw emotion in his vocals and character really made MCR so great
Exactly! It kinda reminds me of that one part in filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where Fred dies and of course George is just devastated, but their actors were seriously really emotional because you can't just watch your closest friend die like that. Like after they finished the scene and the cameras were off, George's actor was literally crying

The world will never know.
I had to chill for a bit and then replay this part to check it
MarieGemmsRITH!!
Same
To the veterans out there, even Peep suffers ptsd with you. Keep fighting.
We trying. VA FAILS US.
literally the greatest music video ever made
The way they were holding Gerard back from Mikey gets me every time 😭😢
Mike Hernandez Hits me in the feels too
Giovanni Carino of course Mikey is is his brother
Giovanni Carino Literally I cry Everytime. 😭😭😭😭😭
same oml
I know right I cry every time especially when I see Gerard's face at 3:18 it's so sad 😭 this song also makes me think of the break up in a way so that makes me cry even more 😭
This Song:
·Is Awesome and No one ever talks about it
·Adresses Wartime PTSD
·Pays Homage to WW2 Vets and Fallen Warriors
·Is a Cinematic Masterpiece
·Adresses Veteran alcoholism to cope due to the lack of PTSD support for Veterans
if you haven't heard it, check out Wrong Side of Heaven - Five Finger Death Punch... it is an amazing song full of meaning, cinematic masterpiece that addresses the lack of veteran supports...
Chad Olson damn thats deep and very observant of you
Not a fan of the music in the slightest, but I'd be the biggest liar if I didn't agree with you on the other points.
Yes, Yes, and YES.
Chad Olson ..it's actually saved so many teens.. that was the main point .. to remind the parents and leaders of what this brought and a warning to the new generation..
Never gonna get tired of this song and video
The last “should i” hits me everytime. Lost my dearest wife last year to cancer.
Rip im so sorry to hear that
Condolences 🙏
1:29 best cut scene in the history of everything
tom smith lol
This needs more likes than it has
That's true. Very well done
I thought it was beautifully done too
On TH-cam go to Black Sabbath War Pigs combat footage
The fact that in the behind the scenes video, Gerard actually shouted Mikey’s name and cried so they had to do a second take.
What hurt me most was when mikey told that his favorite part was dying, G was serious, at some point I thought he would get mad or something, even though we don't know what did he told his brother behind the behind-the-scenes
Got the link to the video ??
@@johnestrada1338 th-cam.com/video/xSjALZS3Zzc/w-d-xo.html starts with this and there is a pt 2
Tbh I think it should have been added because since there going for the accuracy I'm probs sure that happened at one point in the actual war, friends yelling n crying for them being lost
this isnt true lmao
Here's for grandpa for surviving the second great war! I salute you!
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “Glory” by SLT 🤘🎶🎧
20 years later can't believe ilived that era...where are we nowww??
Say what you want about Gerard Way, but he’s still one _hell_ of an actor.
What the hell I just saw your profile pic
amal hadzic lmao all my followers are mad at me because I changed my pfp on Instagram
@amal hadzic where are you from I don't wanna be creepy just I don't know of many people with that name outside one region
@amal hadzic OMG I'm so happy because there are really not many people on Balkan who listen to this btw. me to I live in Croatia
Is that a black butler reference...? Or am I just a weeb...?
"never coming home
never coming home"
why does this line make me feel emotional :(
If you think about it, Gerard's the one who was never coming home because he died with Mikey on the battlefield and he was never the same
reminds me of when my dad was in the army
I always thought he wasn't coming home
truly sad if you think about it
men and women go out to fight for their country only to get told that they might not come home
the ones that do have to or had to go through something similar to hell to come back
100 likes😂
These two lines are basically March 22nd in a nutshell
this song really pierce through my heart and my soul for how beautiful this is, this is emotions, can someone please please suggest a song with powerful emotions ?
listen to "In the void' - Shazyb
it has powerful emotions in it
i think the most obvious suggestion is to check out more emo music. the genre gets its name from its powerful emotions. some of my favorite acts outside of mcr are rites of spring, capn jazz, cursive, one last wish, sunny day real estate, mineral, origami angel, lync, and jimmy eat world. most emo is also heavily influenced by post hardcore so its also worth checking out groups such as unwound, at the drive in, fugazi, big black, mars volta, husker du, number girl, glassjaw, team dresch, nomeansno, the fall of troy, and today is the day. of course both genres have a ton more to offer and theres plenty of other related genres and subgenres to check out. hope i could help some and enjoy whatever you decide to check out!!
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “Glory” by SLT 🪖🐺🤘
I don’t cry for movies or anything, but this had me in tears
3:09
Gerard: NOOOOO
Mikey: *dead*
Ray: oh man
malyee
goddamnit mikey not again
I read it more like "well shit."
Gerard: *hyperventilating*
hotel: trivago
this is the funny part of the video
how much gel did they use to tame the fro
Gallons of the stuff
Give them all that you can you can drink but it'll never be enough
Nope. Why would you drink gallons of hair gel? Lol
Sara Lee there are some people who like to drink petrol or nail varnish, chances are there's somebody out there who'd drink hair gel XD
Sara Lee You really didn't get that?
I still remember first seeing MCR when they were doing homemade commercials to sell their first alvum on FUSE TV. I was never big on emo music but i never really saw them that way. They just made good tunes.
That translation ,dance floor to battle field is better than any I’ve seen
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave Acoustic” by SLT 🤘🐺🎧🐺🤘
The drums perfectly aligned with the gunshots is a really cool detail I hadn't noticed till now!
I just noticed it too !
true! and I didn't notice it until I read your comment!
Oh my gawd
wtf these guys are genius
Minute?
In the midst of my crying, Ray's face when Mikey died made me laugh harder then it should. He was just like "ah, shit"
hikari kakashi than***
yeah I noticed that the 3rd or 4th time.I'm still crying though, but with a humorous tinge to it.
True. "Goddammit Mikey."
I can actually HEAR him saying that, oh my God
Patrick Vezinat nah the song is just too good
