Steve McCurry working with Hasselblad H4D-40

We give the H4D to some of the worlds most renowned shooters to put it through its paces. Michael Grecco, (USA), Steve McCurry (USA), and Kevin Then (Maylasia) were the first to get their hands on the new H4D-40.

Steve's left handed. If you ever see him using a DSLR he holds it even more oddly. It's either that or if you've ever held a medium format camera, sometimes it's just more comfortable

Steve McCurry could make great photos with a cigar box camera. Hassy is still more of a studio camera--big as hell, with poor ISO range.

Steve lost most control of his right hand as a child due to Polio, that's why he uses his hand differently. Although I LOVE the H4D system, it's not a good camera. Unless you have the perfect light, it's pretty bad at anything above ISO400. If you're in control of light, then it's perfect

Hasselblad is very important camera manufacturer and H4D-40 is no doubt a very great camera. But believe me, Mr. McCurry never walks with a >$20k camera on his shoulder. It is simply not practical for that kind of shooting. From his body language you can already see that he is just saying.
