I really have to say how much I am enjoying the topics of your videos. This topic in particular was so relatable for me. When I first started collecting in 2018 I only bought vinyl reborns and that was very manageable and fun. Then I found silicones and fell completely in love with how realistic they are. They are also very expensive and I definitely put myself in a few tough financial positions a few times purchasing silicones that were way out of my budget, but I just had to have them (not really) lol. I had another real baby in 2022 and took a bit of a break from the hobby and also taught myself to paint vinyl and silicone and that helped a lot. Now if I fall in love with a silicone, I buy the blank and paint it and root it myself. Painting can be expensive at first when you are buying supplies and taking classes for rooting and painting but once you learn it is so rewarding and really saves me a lot of money. What I miss the most honestly though is the box opening aspect, something about buying a doll and waiting for it to arrive in the mail and then opening that box with all the goodies was so fun and almost therapeutic. I occasionally still buy dolls from other artists mainly just for the box opening experience. This hobby has helped me so much when I have had losses and sadness or dealing with my depression and the good definitely outweighs the bad. Thank you for always sharing your perspective, I adore Kellans outfit today and how special that it was from your son 😊
Oh my goodness dear! Thank you for the feedback. 🥰🥰 I really can relate to you. Hopefully I can start painting silicone too but think I will stilt buy what I can not paint. 🥴😅Every artist have their own unique things that we love in a baby. Love the part you said you have to have them but then recognized that you actually didn’t 😅😂 I think we all are in the same page. Tracking them through their journey until they arrive is just another fun part of buying them. I do enjoy that part so much. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I enjoyed your response 🥰🥰 Have a beautiful day dear 🤗🌤️💖
Kellen looks gorgeous in your son’s beautiful outfit, how wonderfully nostalgic that must be 🥰. Every baby is meant to be my last baby ! I’m still practicing control 😅 not easy xxx
Collecting can be a pain in the pocketbook for sure. You’re right, we have to know our limits, both space wise for the dolls, but also financially. But there’s nothing like the comfort of cuddling a baby to lift your spirits. Kellen looks adorable in that outfit!
That’s absolutely true dear. Very good point. 👌🏾Space is another thing that can make it a pain too. So many factors, right? I’m glad you liked my little squish🥰
He’s so Adorable his outfit is so cute ❤ I love the outfit . This hobby is fun but it also comes with being responsible and knowing when to indulge in buying and when to put the breaks on. Unfortunately I’m still a work in progress because it’s very hard sometimes to control the urge to buy these sweet little darlings especially if you see a video with a baby you have in mind to buy so I think it’s a every day struggle that just takes time and discipline.
Hello dear, yes! It’s so hard to resist the temptation because there’s new sculpts and new painted pieces of art that pulls our heart strings but I think we keep growing doll by doll and experience by experience. Each time we learn and do better so I’m confident we’re going to master it at one point. Well, hopefully 😅😂 Thanks for stopping by 🥰🥰🥰
I just love your sweet, little boy. He’s my favourite of all of your dolls, and I usually prefer girl babies. I’ve find the doll hobby very stressful. No matter what, you lose money when selling. I’ve collected artist dolls for many decades and they simply don’t hold their value, so one thing I’ve learned is never buy as an investment, but buy because you love the doll. Even reborns I paid $2000 for, I’m lucky to get $500. People just don’t want to pay a lot of money. As you know, I have Claire Taylor’s Full Body Silicone Kent Asleep that I thought for sure would be easy to sell now that his edition is closed. I’m having a difficult time finding an artist to paint him so I have him for sale and haven’t had one bit of interest! I thought Claire’s dolls were highly sought after, but apparently not. They’re expensive even for a blank kit, and I think collectors would rather buy a completed doll. Many times I want to get out of the hobby, but all I have to do is watch videos like yours and I fall back in love again.
Oh dear, I can feel your frustration over this. The Market it’s super slow lately and people are not willing to pay the value of these dolls but your patience will pay off once you can have him sold. Selling a very expensive baby takes patience. If people know you’re going to give a big discount within weeks they will definitely wait for it. Actually, your Kent is more valuable now because as you mentioned he is sold out at this moment. If you have Facebook go to selling groups. There’s even a Claire Taylor fan group and people there only collect from Claire. Really hope you can sell him dear 💖
Hey Sis 👋😃👋 I learned very quickly how much it costs to not only buy a baby but to care for them Even on a small budget it can be a challenge to buy all the cute little things you want but can't buy. But owning even just 1 cute sweet baby is worth all the pain 😊❤❤
Hello Tory 🤗 Its so true!! The can’t buy everything we want for them. It’s very challenging specially if they have different sizes. I totally agree with you, having them worth the pain after all I think. That’s why we go and buy another again😅😂 Thanks for stopping by and for your comment 🥰🥰
Yes it’s so hard to not buy. It’s an addiction for sure. I’m so glad I work and I’m busy at work. Don’t know if it’ll help 💁🏾♀️🤔🤷🏽♀️😩…good luck to us all…oh and this baby is beautiful and I love his little outfit and hat
Thank you so much dear 💖 I’m glad you like him. But it’s so true. Its so hard not to buy any new babies but having your mind busy in other things helps a lot for sure. 👌🏾 Thanks for stopping by 🤗
I only have one full bodied silicon and he is my therapy. I have a congenital heart condition and heart failure. So I can’t have children also because of my condition I suffer badly with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Having George help me get out and about and eases my stress levels a lot. ❤❤❤
Oh dear, so sorry to hear you’re dealing with these conditions but at the same time I’m half you found a way to cope with it through your silicone baby. I hope he continues to bring you comfort and peace. Sending you lots of hugs 🤗💖
BEAUTIFUL LITTLE BABY ❤
THANKYOU FOR SHARING
HAVE A GOOD NIGHT
Thanks for stopping by! Great night too ☺️
❤❤
He’s gorgeous ❤❤❤❤ I love the outfit ❤❤❤ nice chat❤❤❤
Thank you so much Patricia 🥰

I have survived this hobby by telling my husband about a doll I want and then he tells me why I don’t need it 😅😅😅
I don’t tell him all but some 😂
😂😂🤣🤣🤣
