Hello Cameron, thank you for your comment. In the beginning of 2020, there was a different company selling hollow pieces of plastic with a longer screw as the armrest spacer. That was dangerous, and that is what we were referring to. The type of spacers we hare are specially made Factory Direct, and are made specifically just for our chairs. They are safe.
