    Great review Mark. Since I’ve been watching your channel I now own 387 flashlights. Thank the Lord you’re not demonstrating cars! Jk

    Nice lights, great design. We need more design in the world. Timely also, (dark evenings now in England) most of my torch use is in finding where the dogs are in the garden on an evening.Thank you for the video.

      I release a review of my favourite light from HOTO on Wednesday. Thanks for commenting

    Both are cool lights. I like the second one better.

      Same. It would be better with a dust and water resistance rating though.

      I agree. I have another light from HOTO I like better. Review coming Wednesday. Thanks for commenting

    Thanks for the review, great review as always. The lights are definitely not for me, but still nice to know they exist. I never found that the defuser caps work anywhere near as well as a purpose built lantern.
    My preferred lanterns are the Ledlenser ML4 and ML6. The ML4 takes an AA/14500 and the ML6 takes a 18650 battery, which is great as I often have a headlamp or flashlight that also takes the same batteries, so I can just bring extras of 1 battery type (in a waterproof battery holder), rather than a heavy battery bank, or multiples of different batteries.

    Having to cycle through to shut off is inexcusable. They had that like 20yrs ago. Also the usb being exposed when you focus is pretty ridiculous. Too bad, because I’m so sick on black tactical lights, and these are kinda interesting.
    Hey, have you ever upgraded a mag light to LED? I’m planning on having a big C or D battery LED, but I’m not sure what to look for in buying those lights

      I think you may like the next light I review from HOTO. Coming on Wednesday. When I was on patrol I had a 3 D cell flashlight. I kept it for years thinking I would convert it to LED. I finally gave up on it for two reasons. First it would still only be a 3 D-cell light and not have the battery power of newer lights and second, it was a big, heavy light. I had a lot of attachment to it but it was time to move on. Thanks Jim

      @@MarkYoungBushcraft you think newer, smaller batteries have a longer life cycle than modern D batteries?

    • @MarkYoungBushcraft
      @MarkYoungBushcraft  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimf1964 I haven't actually looked into that closely but I feel that the newer li-ion batteries will have higher mAh ratings so they can deliver higher, longer outputs. If I could do a lumen to lumen comparison I expect the newer batteries would win out. Having said that if there is a newer tech for D-cell batteries that I am not aware of they would be worth looking at. It would still be a big, heavy light though

      @@MarkYoungBushcraft So my interest, apart from sentimental, is in finding a light that would last a really long time for extended emergencies. I was thinking that many LED lights use stupid AAA, so a couple of Ds would last a really long time. However, you are possibly right that lithium batteries may win out. Especially with the option for low and high power that an old mag light wouldn’t.

      @@jimf1964 My thinking for extended use is to have recharge options. I small and large power banks as well as solar panels and a new wind turbine I will be reviewing soon

    The main thing as a consumer is the real unboxing and I'm not seeing it for hoto fit because I bought it
