    You share so much of good information, thank you very much! It might be very useful for me in the future. For now I’m buying a house in Italy for family holidays. I have signing of the deed on 6th April 🤞🏻 hope everything goes well. Your channel deserves many more subscribers and views than it is now. But everything needs time. All the best

      You are most welcome! Hope your house purchase went well! Thank you for your positivity! And sorry for my delay (your comment was hidden in the “held for review” section and I didn’t see it until now!) Keep in touch!

      That’s great Amar, so you got the visa and you are at the point of applying for the permesso? I’m sure you can find the requirements by checking with the Questura or going to the Post office. Good luck!

    THANK YOU FOR THIS I have been reading endlessly on these visas but couldn't find a single person who explained how they obtained a work visa, only student visas. Was your position freelancing at the school to teach english?

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are most welcome Emily. Yes, I was a freelance English teacher. Under a visa per lavoro autonomo you can work for several places, so I did work for several schools at the same time.

    What do you mean by Article 27 for researchers ? I have gone through Italian Constitution, and it is saying something else.

    Thanks so much for sharing! I wonder applying as a freelance in consulting do you need to get an attestazione dei parametri economico-finanziari por the lavoro autonomo visa?

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really sure. These days the odds of getting this visa are really low. The last I heard, there were 45-50,000 applicants and they only awarded 500 visas for lavoro autonomo.

    Hi Cheryl, Thank you for the useful information. I am trying to get my Mexican girlfriend here in Italy with me through a visa for lavoro subordinato. However in the new decreto flussi that there are certain countries mentioned that get a quota. My question is what about nationals from other countries not expressly mentioned? Does it mean that they can apply without minding those quotas or they just cannot apply. Thank you in advance

    Hi, i want to know if i can change my Italian visitor visa to a work visa once i arrived in Italy

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, actually I don't think you can do that. As far as I know, only student visa can be converted into work visa...

    Hi! Great content. Usually, how long does it takes the processing time? Thank you! ❤️

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Isabelle! The processing time really depends. For the visa itself, as long as all documents are correctly submitted, it should take only a week. However, the timing for all the documents leading up to getting the visa can take months. In my case, it took nearly 5 months. Then, there is additional waiting time for the permesso di soggiorno once you get to Italy. Again, that has a processing time which depends, but could go up to 8 months. In my case again that part took 5 months.

    • @ivalentim596
      @ivalentim596 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I know I’m in the visa process already 6 months. I got my appointment in the embassy next week. I would like to know how long it would take to get the stamp and fly to Italy after that. ☺️

    Great video! For the lavoro autonomo visa, do you need to freelance for an Italian organisation? Or can you work remotely for non Italian organisations?

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Luke! In the beginning you need to obtain the visa based on an Italian company’s “intention” to work with you. After you have the visa and permesso di soggiorno you can work for whoever you want, in Italy and/or abroad. These days I have clients in Italy and worldwide and it doesn’t matter as long as you report the income while you are a resident of Italy.

  • @MohamedAliBelhaj

    Hi Cheryl. do you have any idea if:
    will the years of master studies (2) count when leading to the Italian permanent residency?
    Which means after three years of converting it into a work permit. Can we apply for il soggiorno permanente/PR?
    Or we can only apply for the permanent residence after 5 years of the work permit solely and the years of student stays don't count?

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mohamed. Did you have resident status while you were a student? I mean, did you go through the residence process, apply to the Comune where you were living, and did the police come to your house to verify you were a resident there? If yes, then you should be able to add your time as a student and additional residence while working. Please understand the difference between Permesso di Soggiorno and Residence: they are two different processes. Only having your permesso as a student would not be enough. You would have had to apply for residence with the Comune where you were living, and go through that process. To be sure, you can contact Damien O'Farrell with this question. damienofarrell.com/

      Thank you Cheryl. I'll definitely contact him.
      I'm actually gonna start studying in Italy in the Autumn.. And I'd love to be prepared for such scenarios, and prevent any waste of the two years of student stay.
      So you're actually referring to the Iscrizione Anagrafica? Isn't it.. That must be enough hopefully to prove my stay in Italy for studies to build quicker toward the residence later on

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the iscrizione Anagrafica. Once you apply and get your residence, you will be on the Anagrafe, the city’s registry of residents. From that date, your residence will start. I’m not sure how it works for foreign students. I think you need to have income, and be paying into the tax system, in order to become a resident, but again, Damien will be able to answer these questions.

    Hi! I live in italy, just graduated master and got job offer currently I still holding student permit until march next year. If my company starts now,get my work permit and then get the work visa how long does it take? And for work visa I should apply bymyself?

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and congrats on your job offer! Time frames vary so it’s hard to say. Yes, once you have a work permit you need to go back to your home country and apply for your work visa. However you can also work for a period of 1 year after graduating from your degree and before getting a work visa. I forgot the name of the visa but you have this option after being a student.

    Hi ,
    Great info .
    I have a small company in Uk ( cleaning contractor ) . Do i meet the requirements to obtain a self employed working visa for Italy .
    I hope to buy a property Spring 2023 and live in it as my main residence .
    My question is - must the self employment / freelance work be related to work in Italy ?

    • @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert
      @cherylobalcrossculturalexpert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there Des, it’s quite complicated and there’s no easy answer. My guess is that cleaning services are not necessarily specialty/in-demand services here, so it may be better to try with an activity for which there is a shortage/lack.. Basically you would have to spend some time in Italy and find someone who would contract your services, then get them to write a document claiming that they would use your services on a freelance basis. With that, you would have to visit some offices in Italy and obtain the right documentation. Then you go back to the Italian embassy in the Uk to apply for your visa. It would be wise to spend some time here and visit an immigration agency (I mentioned one in my video) to gain info on the latest rules and laws around it.

      Well, if you are going to offer services as a freelancer/consultanr, you would need to have at least one company who would be willing to work with you, right? To prove you’d be able to get clients as a freelancer..

      @@cherylobalcrossculturalexpertin my case, my clients are individuals not companies so I can prove that I have contracts with people who work with me but not companies. However I also have proof via bank statements and tax records that I make enough money to support myself abroad. But it seems like these visas require association with companies 🫣
