    I don't hang glide at all yet, but as soon a I have the money and time, I plan on learning and working my way up to this. Eventually I want to fly from Southern California up to Oregon. Someday I will achieve this, so glad that powered harnesses are a thing.
    Thanks for the fun video!

    @wmadams1 Thanks for getting back to me. I've flown HG since 1991 flying mostly in mountains. The closest mountain or coastal sites are at least 2 hrs drive from my home now. I see a lot of spacious field around my area and Im interested getting Power Harness and use it in those spacious field instead of driving long distance to local flying sites. Hope can one someday.

    That's the problem, there are few places that offer training. I trained myself. I was already H2 and had a lot of scooter towing experience (perfect for FLPHG). I know Steve Wendt at Blue Sky Hang Gliding offers training. I believe Paul Olson also trains pilots as well.

    Wes,
    Yes, I disconnect it any time I pack it up for transport. I'm flying a Falcon so my launches are pretty easy. If I was flying a more advanced glider I might not do so well.

    Thanks for the info. I have lots of aerotow experience but dont know if that will matter with a powered harness. Nice video by the way.

      Thanks Pete, You can probably find a used one pretty cheap online. I've got my old Doodle Bug up for sale for $2500 U.S. Dollars on Ebay. The shipping would probably cost a lot however.

      Cheers Wes. I have my eye on one at the moment, but not knowing any one that flys them I have to work things out on my own. Still great video, they do help. Cheers Pete

    Could you show in more detail how to put the fuel tank in, where the battery goes, and all the switches that need to be set before starting it?

    thanks for your video. During the flight, once you stop the engine , can you restart in the mid air?

    I fly an Airborne Sting 175 2XC and have considered the idea of getting a powered harness. Where did you get your instruction ? Any suggestions ?

    What do you say you have used an Engine in it ? Or should one of the best engine be used?

  • @kukhuve6595
    @kukhuve6595 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    how long does it take to lift? i measured tim in the video and it was abouot 10 sec but i guess the wind can make it more or less.
    and whats the flight time per gallon?
    Also, what engine are you using? We have an old hangglider in the barn an i have tried it quite a lot from hills and small mountains and its super easy to fly as long as its not so much wind. Seams pretty sween with an engine on just put everything on the car, find a place to start and just go away .

      It depends on head wind. You can be off within a few steps with about a 10mph head wind. It takes a little longer with no wind. You can fly about 1 to 1.5 hours on 2 gallons. It's a Radne Raket 120 aero engine.

      thanks for anwser. Is it possible to have a smaller engine? How fast are you going?

    • @kukhuve6595
      @kukhuve6595 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      and also. is the 1-1,15 hour flight constant and full throtle or would it last longer if you got some altidute and just had slow gas, like 10% just so you didnt loose altitude?

    • @WesAdams

      You need about 3200 rpms at the prop for a 52 inch long prop. My air speed is about 25 mph in flight.

    • @WesAdams
      @WesAdams  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      About 1.5 hours at half throttle once in flight. If you thermal it could be longer.

  • @WesAdams
    @WesAdams  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Radne Raket Aero 120. You can google it.

    What happens if you mount the prop engine combo on the trailing boom?

    • @WesAdams
      @WesAdams  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you attach an engine directly to the keel it will make the hang glider really unstable, especially in turbulence. The glider thrust line must travel through the hang point.

      How about a system like paragliders use with a seat and the pusher fan ?

    • @timpearce5375
      @timpearce5375 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      and is the instability caused by torque of the engine/ prop, I've thought about using one of the new jet turbines that the model guys are using?
