- There's always that one technique that you would love to do but you struggle and cannot get it to come out right. It can lower your confidence and make you want to give up on it.
In today's video Im going to help you with a invaluable tip that not only will hopefully cut down on wasted paint and canvases because of failures but also help improve your skills.
Let me know what you think about todays video by leaving a comment!
I have comments on a "need to be approved " setting so they will show up once approved
Painting #1 Recipe
Pouring medium = 3 parts glue, 1 part water. Mix together.
For colors and base mix 1 part paint to 1 part pouring medium. If paint doesn't flow fast off stick and leave a small mound that disappears immediately slowly add water to adjust.
Painting #2
Same recipe as above
Painting #3
1 part paint to 3 parts Floetrol. Slowly add water to achieve same consistency as Painting #1

I have to laugh when you say that you'd like to help us. You are so incredibly humble, you have no idea how many people you've helped!! To say a lot would be an understatement! I've learned soooo much from you and I'm sure that I'm not alone!!
Thank you for EVERYTHING you do ❤❤!!!
Well, well, well, Tammy! Now you’ve gone and done it. Just when I was ready to box up all my supplies you hooked me right back in. Third times a charm right? Now I gotta try this on my 12” square canvas that has been painted on and scraped a half dozen times. Always an optimist-or at least sometimes an optimist. Gotta go…I hear my paint calling me. Thank God for you! Mad skills, girl!
I love your laugh, and I also love that you are willing to show your missteps. And still laugh as you show your results. After all, this is supposed to be fun! I love pink leaves!
Great observations and improvements Tammy. Love your last flower... Can't wait to see more 🌹✨️🫶
So good Tammy liked that you could laugh at the second one. But the last one is beautiful ❤️😍
🎉🎉🎉Yah Tammy, you did do it..👏👏 Turned out so pretty, love the colors. Thanks for showing the first two. So funny watching you. Thanks for just being you! Have a great week! 😊💖
Yay it really turned out pretty and I love the colors actually, I even like the first one
You little clown fish is adorable
That turned out great in the end. I often watch Fiona. I'm still practising this technique.
Tammy, you are such a favorite of mine. I am amazed at your skill and knowledge. Your commitment to our learning makes my heart fill with joy.
BTW, I bought some big canvases on sale and thought of you - needing to rent a storage unit. I barely got mine in my car. You son must have a truck to help you.
Awesome paintings Tammy!
Wow that last one 😍 👏
Great tutorial as always.
😂😂😂😂 You totally crack me up when you make a boo boo. It's great to make fun of yourself. I do it all the time. 😂😂 Your 3rd try was the charm. It came out very pretty. I have watched Fiona's flower pours and I agree that her flowers come out really pretty. I haven't tried it myself, because I felt that using a napkin was kinda of a waste of a lot of paint. JMHO. 😊
Yeah Tammy!! So beautiful and the trials and errors. ❤, Your fish is so cute❤
Yess you did it 👏🏻 …thank you for sharing this with us. Beautiful flower. And your fish is cute 🥰
Fiona would be so proud of you. 👏 ❤
Hi Tammy. You are delightful 😂. I laughed and laughed! I watched the video of you doing your first Dutch pour the other day😅. There is hope for us all🥳. Love you Tammy.❤
Mine is the damn bloom technique 😂😂...Well you've done another great painting Tammy...❤❤❤
Oh, and such good advice I always get great advice from you. You’re a good teacher.
Beautiful flower and the fishie is adorable
I mean it's still beautiful Tammy!!!
3rd was definitely the charm....it took my breath away
This was a great video! Your laughter when you revealed the fat leaf had me laughing along with you!
Bravo, Tammy!
Bravo on the last one!
I love how you did the differences and I actually loved the feather!!! The colors on the last one are beautiful!!! I can't wait to try this!!
Oh wow Tammy! That's so gorgeous 😍
Beautiful painting! You did a great job! Fishy is so adorable.
Yay!! That last one is Beautiful & turned out Great!! I love the color palette!!!💕 Your persistance has paid off! 👋👋I need to get set up & start recording myself with the techniques I am struggling with. Some very good advise I believe would be wise to take! lol Thank you so much for sharing your struggles as well as successes with us. I have been following your channel and watching your videos since 2018 and have learned so much from you. So thank you for that. You are an inspiration to myself as well as others, may God bless and keep you always❣
The clown fish is adorable! I love them!
Tammy...great job! This particular technique is difficult, don't give up you will master it. And thank you for mentioning Fiona, she is the master of this technique.
Lol, I love your leaf! So funny hearing your reaction. I took a class with Fiona and her napkins are quite a bit different than ours. They are more like the blue shop towels that you can get from Home Depot. Oooooo, your last one looks really good. Fun video, sweetie. xoxoxooxoxo
Flower is so pretty and thank you for letting us see your first 2 efforts. It’s so good as it makes us feel better and we don’t think it’s only us who have problems trying out something new.
Fantastic video Tammy!! Loved the education as always, thank you so much!! Love you and all you do!!❤️❤️
Off to dinner but man this is great. Thanks
I actually liked all 3 - I Do appreciate that you took us through your progression 😊 you did Awesome!!! ❤
Wow Tammy, that last one is gorgeous! Love the colors and you got some amazing cells! Thanks for sharing your tips. I look forward to your videos every week. You have such a great attitude and provide so much inspiration to us all!
Love your videos and your giggle!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
This was interesting. Love colors of no 3 also. Good job.
So much fun! Thank you for sharing those “fails”! Sometimes that is the most helpful especially when you can see those mistakes in your own work. I love the leaf or fat feather 😂❤️❤️❤️ imagine if that was in shades of green I think it would have been perfect!
🥳🥳🥳The third time is the charm 🎉🎉🎉 It’s stunning
Cute Puppy
Yay!!! 👏👏👏We know there is nothing that you cannot do! Love you Tammy! Thank you for everything ❤😊
Third time's a charm. Beautiful colors.
Totally the prettiest flower 🌸
Shows never to give up. #3 is gorgeous. Good job Tammy!!🤩💞🤩
Thank you for sharing. Your persistence paid off. The colors on all three were beautiful, but the last was so pretty. Way to go!!!
Great job! The colors are beautiful. You go, Girl!🎉
So good better than all the rest sweetie!!
love how they all came out.🙋♀
Yay!! You did it!! Your persistence paid off and those colors are so gorgeous.
Thank you Tammy. You are an excellent teacher.
Stunning!
Beautiful
I really love the first painting! So much movement
You are a great TH-camr. You keep me interested every time and you’ve inspired me to try so many things . 💜💜 Thank you so much. 😊
That's fabulous and inspiring 😍
Nice colors on your 2 one so far.
Well done Tammy, thank you for sharing your attempts. The end result was beautiful.
This is an excellent video - so educational. I've watched @FionaArt for almost as long as I've watched you and she's very talented, She struggles with sone techniques because you're both human.
I really thought you had it that second time because of the napkin's lines. (Trim it into a square next time?) I'll keep working on this one, slowly but surely. And borrow my husband's tripod.)
Thank you sooooo much for the lesson! Smo0o0o00o0o0ochies!
Thank you for the great video. You've given me the inspiration and confidence to go try this technique, again. 😍
Attempt #1 looks beautiful. It looked naturally painted instead of via some type of systematic approach. I can only imagine what your other "mistakes" look like!
Just BEAUTIFUL!!!
I like this tutorial and the painting
Love the 2nd the 3rd attempt, beautiful colors. The fish is so pretty
Great video.
Thanks Tammy. I struggle with this technique also
Big help
🎉
Great tips Tammy and a thoroughly entertaining video.
Thanks this was helpful, love the fishy
You got Nemo
You’re so funny! Love this video! I will try this soon!!
Thank this is the best advice I need to hear I keep trying and get very discouraged but I keep on trying. Would love to see what you do with the other paintings I am really digging mix media art lately I love that someone can take a failed pour and change it. Thanks again for an awesome video
i did about 6 of these before i finally got one i was happy with! thanks for sharing your trials 💖 made for good laughs and great tips
💯❤💙💜 thankyou so much for sharing this
Thank you Tammy.
3’s a charm! 💝. I haven’t been able to do Fiona’s reverse dip either-WAY HARD!!
✌️💜😊
Beautiful painting Tammy! You did a great job!
Love the sherbet colors.
I like them all!!
Priceless tutorial. Thanks for sharing! 🎉❤🎉
Beautiful Flauers
A most beautiful leaf though
That’s how my channel got started! I was recording my painting for myself and decided why not upload. Now I’m so focused on making a good video that I often notice things in the editing that I wished I had paid attention to 🤦🏻♀️😂😂
Pretty....well done
So beautiful!!!!
Awesome!!! absolutely Beautiful & ty sooo very much for sharing the first 2 because this technique is most definitely my worst nightmare lol...I've watched almost all of Fiona's videos on this technique but no matter what it's always an epic fail for me "every single time" it's just down right discouraging..."BUT"....but
I now have new HOPE, thanks to you 😁 ❤
your a wonderful teacher, keep doing what your doing...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Beautiful! 🥰Although not what you wanted Attempt #1 turned out beautiful after the spins. And Attempt #2 🤣 Love it! 😍another tip for the napkin is to try to keep your hand that's holding the napkin in the center of the flower. You can also kind of open the second set of napkin "corners" as you pull up the first set. Hope that makes sense. Kudos on the salt water tank! Much love!
You are the best
Lindos ❤
Parabéns felicidades Mestra!
You rock Tammy! Wonder if you transferred all these paintings (flowers or bloom only) onto a larger canvass and make it into an interesting mix media painting?
Pour #3! 😍
❤
Daar mag je trots op zijn!! Prachtige kleuren! Ik geef niet op en blijf proberen 😂
Wow auch lässig
that was fun!
Great tips! Thx 😊
Gorgeous!! 💜
Thank you for sharing 🎨 😊
Congrats Tammy! Lovely job! Do you have a link for the flower tool?
Love how you can laugh at yourself! Is the base mixed the same as colors? Fiona’s base appears thicker but it could just be the filming angle.
If I made be so bold addressing a master, replace “not the right shape” with “not the shape I wanted”! The results were beautiful and when I’ve seen any “flawed” execution of a dip, it has me wanting to to exaggerate the mistakes to achieve something new. In your case, you may be ion the way toward developing a leaf-dip or gladiola- or hollyhock-dip and beyond. Most pours that don’t go according to the artist’s plan in a video actually give me new ideas, or I prefer the accidental end product!
