1st: because of so many impurities in natural water bodies the conductios will also increase.
2nd: the main point comes now, in this experiment there is no other other way of flow of electrons, it is only pos+ and neg- sides of the wires. But in natural bodies we all know that earth also behaves as neg- potential so if you're close to the positive side of the wire and also close to the earth surface you will get shock even if the neg- side of wire is far because circuit will be completed with the earth surface

Note : I still urge kids not to try this just to check on sirs' advice. It's very very dangerous. I feel only if you are at the other end of the sea u may not feel the current. Don't try n put ur hand in water. The closer you are to the source of current the more it's power.

Ki resistance reason nahi hai bulb glow kare ya na kare
Reason is conductivity
Jo aap water use kar rahe hai pure water hai so low conductivity in pure water
And
If you add some impurities like (salt) then the conductivity is increased and bulb can glow perfectly
