Mr. Bean has only 15 episodes??? So I've just been laughing at the same episodes over and over for 16 years now? Wow, it feels like there are more. That's some brilliant characterization.
LOL! really amazing
I didnt even know either
Ruthiel Alastor same
yeah i thought there were more than 100 for sure.
i am shocked as well!!!! I thought there were surely over 40 episodes! well, i guess there always has to be less of the best things in the world. a shame really. Mr bean was an exceptional comedian. He was the genius of physical comedy.
It takes a genius to make three generations of people laugh without saying a single word
"My Flexible Friend"
The best part: he can also make people laugh by just saying a word
"Bob"
I even laughed at your comment Vincent.
This comment is gold
@Monaldo making people laugh without saying a word has two different meanings (at least):
1. Never say a word and make people laugh.
2. Not saying a word at the time you make people laugh (more clearly, the result of laughing is not by saying any words)
In this case it is obvious the original commenter was using definition #2.
Anyone saying this is the first time you've heard Rowan speak: if you've seen The Lion King, he was the voice of Zazu. Have a nice day. :)
Nol See oh wow!
No way!
Funny enough he also played the antagonist in the Scooby-Doo live action film! Well technically that was Scrappy, but we don't talk about him..
Also BLACK AAAAAAAAADER.
not everyone is american though.
When I was a kid, I thought Mr. Bean spanned for at least 30 episodes. I guess the episodes just hardly get old.
My father has owned The Whole Bean full volume two disc set for fifteen years now, and the illusion must have come from the fact that each episode was segmented into two parts, leaving the actual number much closer to half of your original estimate.
@@holisticpsychologybyobrien My dad has the entire series on DVD. My brother had got it for him for his birthday along with a DVD of Benny Hill. I'm kind of curious as to why british TV shows run for so long but only have a certain amount if episodes.
It's 16 episodes but about 30 sketches.
I'd say it was like a hundred.
The Blue Robin Reliant getting tipped over gets me everytime
Master of physical comedy. He also holds a master's degree in electrical engineering
Oblivion Perhap's he learned to engineer the body's electrical signals.. I'll show my way out.
Oblivion his performance is electrifying
I also heard he was a Harvard prof
Smart people are funny
He's the embodiment of an English genius.
That man also has a major in engineering and mathematics. What a legend.
whoa, really? nice
From Oxford aswell
let's hope this man never dies
That day will literally break me
Legends never die
Friendship thats unfunny
Well that would be odd if a god died
Mr. Friendship wtf is wrong with you
Absolutely fantastic video.
Did you get the soup microwaved right
Gus and I run in the same circles apparently. Saw your comment on captain disillusion vid just a minute ago.

Isn't about the word, it's about how he say the word
Rowan Atkinson deserves his name in the title. He’s more than Mr. Bean. Please fix.
I agree but I think the issue is that a lot of Americans know him only as Mr. Bean. They might not recognize his real name.
Which is a damn shame. Atkinson is a master of his craft and has been for decades.
The title is like that to get attention, the name Mr.bean is extremely recognizable, also his name appears in the begining of the video so it's not that bad imo
The thumbnail is plenty to say he's Mr. Bean
I would have not clicked this video if it was Rowan Atkinson, now I know what his real name is because of the title being mr bean.
There's more to the video than just the title.
I feel like no one talks about the Johnny English movies, I loved those
I loved them, they had some good physical comedy and did a great job parodying spy movies.
Except the third one
the first and the second ones are great
Also Blackadder
@@vicktoria4864 imo, the second one was a little bit boring. but it was good. the original and the third one is the best for me, especially they brought back Bough
I... I'm just going to take this moment to admit that this was the first time I've ever heard Rowan Atkinson *actually* speak.
I only heard him say like one word before. And as a kid i didn't even think he could speak! I always wondered why he wasn't speaking hahah.
I was like "oh shit he's british?"
Watch blackadder and not the nine o’clock news
mee toooo
Do you guys ever heard of a movie named "johnny english"?
Rowan Atkinson is my childhood. He's a frickin' god, no question.
So much so in Germany.
My parents were big fans of British comedy, so I grew up watching shows like Jeeves and Wooster, Fawlty Towers, and Blackadder. Rowan Atkinson holds a very special place in my heart.
Is Mr. Bean A God?
*Insert Image If Very Strong Mr. Bean Fighting Shaggy.*
Mr.bean is a humor that everybody can watch and laugh. No need to learn english to understand his joke because most of his films is pure silence and with musical effects
Yep. One benefit of physical comedy: you only need eyes not ears to watch.
true my asian non english parents enjoy it as well
Shafwan Dito thats why they're world renowned, language isn't a barrier
MyOpinionIsAFACT so sucks if you're deaf
some people dont find it funny. So majority not all.
"The character is the joke." Rowan Atkinson summarized in a line.
I wonder how is his self-esteem doing
Very good actually
@@ghjklkop7868 despite what you may think, it's actually great
In the clip of Atkinson being a stern teacher you say that the children have silly names, but actually in England (I dont know if you do this in America) when you have a supply teacher (a temp), a common prank is to leave a fake register on the desk before they come in and so, not knowing your class they read out the (no doubt, hilarious) names you have all put on there, if they realise whats happening and try to tell you off for creating fake names, one of you cries and leaves and you all tell the teacher shes always teased for her name, and boom, you've got them twice.......yeah we are all dicks
I don't know how old you are, Joseph, but I'm 19 and back when I was in school, they'd stopped taking the register, because it was deemed offensive to mispronounce some of the names, due to integration.
i've just left secondary and we just took the register like normal lmao what kinda schools did u go to
@@Revelian1982 im 23 and it was a thing we did in late primary school, sounds like you just missed out

Mr. Bean Is A Master Of Physical Comedy????
More like Sir Rowan Atkinson Is A Master Of Comedy.
the title is there to grab attention my friend, most people only know him by his famous character Mr Bean
Joshua Nelson 90% of people know him as mr bean
Rowan Atkinson is a sirtified master of physircal comedy
It's call clickbait. Dude .
Title use to attract people to click the video
Well title is not wrong. I mean Comedians are making their audience laughing by words. Rowan does it by his demeanor/behavior/attitude.
Only thing that upsets me is that this man is not more recognized. He is a genius in comedy that will never be replaced. Love Rowan Atkinson!!
he's a legendary comedian whos worth 130million dollars AND he has received a knighthood (a super big deal) he cannot get more recognized even if he tried to.
@@Namajaff Yes,but most ppl (at least those I know personally) don't know his real name.I'd tell them "Rowan Atkinson is a legendary comedian" and they'd be like "Who?".Well, not all of them.I know some who know his real name but for the most part...nah.

The point is, more people should know abt him. We were just giving him praise and wishing that he would be bigger than he is because he deserves it.
So happy to know the UK's biggest national treasure is getting some love abroad
Mr Bean is huge internationally as it is near enough without dialogue. He is probably up there with Elvis, Michael Jackson, Jesus and Bob Marley in terms of recognition.
snolan1990 Mr Bean did extremely well with me as a child at least half the age I would learn my first words of English at precisely because of this.
I was a child when Mr. Bean’s Holiday came out in theaters here in the US. As a fan of the old Mexican comedy my father would show me(Silent films and physical comedy were prominent), the sheer skill and devotion Atkinson displayed was truly amazing. My dad found some DVDs of the Mr. Bean show and I was hooked. This man is truly a comedic genius. His ability to be funny without speaking a word led to his international success. My father doesn’t speak English fluently but we can still enjoy Mr. Bean together since his comedic style is derived from his amazing physicality when performing.
In Malaysia literally EVERYONE knows Mr. Bean. He's always been a childhood favorite of me and a lot more!
There was a whole fucking channel just running mr. Bean's animated and non- animated shows 24/7 about 5-6 years ago in India. He is a big deal

bruh
Same here
That’s rather specific?
There are 15 episodes, but several sections. One episode contains more than one theme. That's why you think there are more.
There are only 14 episodes actually, the 15th episode is just called "The best Bits of Mr.Bean" which is just a collection of various skits from 14 episodes.
I would like to point out that Rowan Atkinson hates being called Mr Bean. He even said once that he regretted playing the role because of it. Because people on the street also call him that. Keep that in mind if you ever meet him :)
Thanks for the heads up!
Tom
So I should definitely scream "MR BEAN!!! " and point at him yes.
If I were to meet him I would simply shout ‘Flanders Pigeon Murderer’ at him.

Blackadder is a must see, especially Blackadder Goes forth, especially the final episode. It is Atkinson in his finest moment.
randomjasmic Best finale to any show ever. Period.
Honestly, the ending made me cry.
randomjasmic nerdwriter should also do a Blackadder documentary.. Here in Phils. We only knew him as Mr. Bean.
No doubt
All series except the first are true masterpieces !
He has an amazing voice, almost sad he does not talk often in his sketches
well, watch Blackadder or The Thin Blue Line
@@Joe-ki7og I did I did, but apperently I don't really remember how his voice sounds
Johnny English? I've watched the movies countless times.
Lion King?
Read the title and my reaction was "No shit". That's how good he is.
Same lol
A more appropriate title would have been "Rowan Atkinson is a master of physical comedy"...
Yeah, this feels a little clickbaity.
that is the title...
And a whole bunch of people who only know "Mr. Bean" would have missed the opportunity to learn his real name because they didn't bother clicking the video because they didn't know they knew who it was about. Sometimes clickbait is a good tool.
Damien DARAN well it will get more clicks since most americans know him better as mr bean
I've been practicing this idea of the character being the joke every day in high school. It's quite effective for getting laughs but it impedes any attainment of respect.
Sir Rowan Atkinson begs to differ. That's what sets him apart. He is one of the most, if not THE most, respected comedian of his age.
He's also brilliant with verbal comedy too. Blackadder is a perfect example.
British comedy is amazing
edit: i actually didnt mean it like this is typical british comedy, however this is a british comedian and therefore from britain. :)
Meerko Music performance will be great, but you might not be happy if people are joking around you with those British jokes etc
Not all British comedians are as incredibly talented as Atkinson sadly. But we can't all be gods of comedy.
IT'S NOT BRITISH HUMOUR. IT'S PLAIN OLD SLAPSTICK. Boi don't you all love to use the word British humour wherever ya'll want. Come on
Mr Bean isn't exactly the epitome of British humour (although it is excellent.)
For that (with Atkinson's hands all over it) I'd definitely check out Blackadder. (Pro tip, if one series of Blackadder doesn't do anything for you, check out the others. They're all quite different. I prefer Blackadder Goes Forth.)
My definition of british comedy will always be the monty python
The Title should be " Rowan Atkinson, The greatest comedian of all time"
Yeah but then most people won't click
Very subjective because there is many different types of comedy
Seeing this legend grow old.. Make me sad.. Very sad..

I was in a play with his partner, Louise Ford, in 2018. He came along and watched, and set off fireworks for us after the show. The guy is an absolute legend, and surprisingly humble and shy in real life.
Rowan is one of my all-time-favourite comedians. And I'm over 70!
I'm really happy to have grown up with Rowan Atkinson, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Rowan has always been my favourite since I was a child. Thanks for highlighting how truly great he is.
I just realised recently that Zazu from 1994 Lion King was voiced by him....I'm shook, I need a place to sit down
Mr. Bean is very popular in Brazil. I suppose because it was mostly silent sketches they were very easily relatable. I grew up watching him, and certainly he helped define my sense of humor.
He's managed to become popular around the world simply because of language. Although he doesn't talk, the body language he uses is universal and therefore can be viewed around the world since all all humans can understand body language.
...Have you asked him to come to Brazil?
No. Why would I?
Same in Poland. I moved from Poland to Canada when I was a young boy, and I'm pretty sure he was way more well-known and popular in Poland than in Canada.
"I watched this episode already not gonna watch it again" said no one while watching Mr. Bean
I thought my dad was Rowan Atkinson when I was younger. I used to watch his spy films, and my dad would watch black adder and while I knew it couldn't be *my* dad, they looked so similar it was hard not to believe they were.
Also, for my birthday when no one turned up to my party, my whole family went to see Mr.Bean goes on holiday together.
My brother is called Rowan.
It's all coincidental but Rowan Atkinson's work is weaved through my life in its own quiet way.
It's touching buddy
this is so beautiful. thank you for sharing!
It's a shame Rowan Atkinson will be always remembered for Mr Bean but not Blackadder. Mr Bean it's still wonderful for what it is, I suppose.
Gabriel Rangel Totally agree, Black Adder is a far superior show and also a much more interesting character
gringhidu gehtdichnichtsangoogle Also has the greatest series finale in British Televison History
speak for yourself? Lots and lots of people remember his Blackadder, especially if the scene had Hugh Laurie in it
Plenty of people remember him for Black Adder
This is just anecdotal.
Omg, you included scenes from Not the Nine O'Clock News! I LOVE that series, and it's often overlooked whenever people discuss Rowan Atkinson's work. Thank you! :D
Katy133 I'm so happy about this video. A few months ago I discovered tons of his old skits on TH-cam and that got me into Nine O'clock News and that got me onto Fry & Laurie. It's an endless rabbit hole of incredible British comedy.
Lawrence Calablaster If you like A Bit of Fry & Laurie, I definitely recommend watching Jeeves & Wooster. It also stars Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie and it's hilarious. :D
yet no mention of Blackadder...but in Blackadder Atkinson's funny side is different.
@Katy133 - This might be bringing coals to Newcastle, but a famous Czech novelist Zdeněk Jirotka was inspired by P.G.Wodehouse when he wrote Saturnin, a novel about a young conservative civil servant (in inter-war Czechoslovakia), who hires a excentric stiff-upper-lip -butler- valet, who then in turn turns his life into a series of adventures.
The book is excellent and there is also a film adaptation, which is great as well. I highly recommend it, it breathes with that 1920's nostalgia.
And I'm off to meet Jeeves and Wooster.
Václav Fejt4 Thank you! I've got to check out Saturnin. I'm interested in anything that has to do with Wodehouse.
Woah! I've gone thru that exact same route!
When he worked on the animated series Mr Bean, they did the animations of him from him. He acted out what his character was to do on screen and made his usual sounds. So in one episode he dances with a mop as he pretends to dance with someone. They recorded him doing this to work from for their animations to get the character moves right.
Weird proud and patriotic feeling watching this haha! Glad to see Nerdwriter acknowledging Rowan Atkinson, great video.
And Lele Pons says she does "physical comedy" HA

Her idea of physical comedy is on par with Paul Blart levels of "haha funny man fell down and made funny face haha"
He also has an IQ of 178 and a master's degree in electrical engineering
as comparison it is theorized that albert einstein had an IQ of 160 to 190, there is a chance this man is smarter than einstein
I think 178 is somewhat Exaggerated,150± is a more Trusty Value.

Beans?!!?!?!?V BEANS?!?!?!?!? beanSSS?!?!?
Mr Bean is great not because he does silly things, but because he is a child in a man's body. You can read his thoughts on his face and you can see the situation reveal itself. It requires no dialogue or back story. Just the realization that he has ordered raw beef and doesn't know how to send it back.
That's the beauty of his work! It is the only international comedian. I know people who have never heard a word of English in their lives, yet love Mr.Bean!

Mr. Bean were very successful in Brazil
Bean was on the telly in the Netherlands throughout my youth. Blackadder aired too and I'm pretty sure Johnny English was a pretty big success at the box office! We recognize his genius across the pond ^.^
Mr Bean's show and his movies were popular in Argentina in the 90s when I was growing up. Master of physical comedy who can also do verbal comedy and satire like a champ in Black Adder. He is pretty much the GOAT.
I feel this epitomises British comedy, think about hits such as the Peep Show or the Inbetweeners as well; they all rely on the character and not the punchline for comedic effect. Its brilliant.
Mr bean's face when he accidentally drops the imaginary piano cover in 7:48 had me dying lol
I never noticed it at first! Thanks for pointing that out! XD
Reminds me of why I liked Johnny English so much. His character's expressions are so cocky and sure of himself which makes it all the more funny when actions turn out to be bumbling and incompetent.
I'll always appreciate how this wonderful man made everyone laugh just by saying the word 'Bob' when he went on Top Gear.
My papa was a fantastic physical comedian. He wasn't an actual comedian or anything, just a really wonderful and genuine guy. I think that's why this is my favorite style of entertainment as a childcare worker, putting on some sort of "role". It’s amazing how he is able to remain in character no matter how hard the audience is laughing. He’s an fantastic comedian
There's also amazing about his sheer ability to emote through facial expressions: when I first saw his movie "Johnny English" as a kid, I was consistently brought to tears of laughter.
this was so beautiful to me, i thank you for make this video x
Yes he is
A modern master. Also a very good dramatic actor too, see his current turn as Maigret.
Though Rowan isn't a stand up comic strictly, I'd just like to say that these principles still carry over. I was reading a Norm Macdonald interview - often regarded by his pears as one of the funniest men to ever live, and he said that 'the funniest bits are when it's a reaction thats wrong, but truer underneath than what you would expect... Think different... think the opposite way'
It's not stand-up comedy because he is not telling jokes to an audience... he is a comedic performer, doing skits... even Mr Bean is a skit show of sorts just with one character.
Rowan Atkinson portrays how my actual thoughts look like while doing something.
I live in south India and I haven't met anyone who doesn't know who Mr Bean is.
