    I have this kit and many others in my vehicles. They absolutely work and you can plug a tire with 1 hand and don’t even need bubba pushing you from behind to force a traditional plug and reamer in. Like I said I have many options when I get a flat. A teenage girl can fix a tire with this kit. Plugs will out last the tire if applied correctly. In 40 years and hundreds of plugs later I have never seen 1 failure because they work. This kit works especially well in small punctures that a traditional reamer won’t penetrate or bubba is unavailable, It has its place. And yes you need a portable air compressor in your kit.

    These look different than the last time I used one. I used it for my mini quad I had when I was a teenager. It was a black sticky like rope instead of flat rubber. Don't know if that's just another brand or what. They worked super good though. Lasted years until I sold the quad. I'm sure it's still holding air somewhere lol.

    40+ working in automotive field. 25+ in tires specifically. I can tell you that you should never plug a tire this way unless it's your only option to get home.
    Pushing a plug thru this way can create a separation in the layers of the tire. The the air trapped within the separation by the plug can grow and the separation gets bigger till the tire tears apart.
    Ever see a big truck tire shredded on side of road? Usually that tire started coming apart from a separation that was missed at recapping or from a recent repair.

      PiP is absolutely correct. A plug is only a temporary repair. A damaged tire should always be removed from the wheel and professionally inspected before determining whether it can be safely repaired.

    • @randyagnew4142
      @randyagnew4142 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once you use a temporary plug the tire is ruined, no professional repair can be done. This is why vehicles come with spares and tools/ jack so you can install your spare and take your damage tire off.

    • @johnghatti5435
      @johnghatti5435 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@randyagnew4142 that is absolutely incorrect. The only way a tire is absolutely ruined is if the sidewall was damaged or the tire was driven under inflated. When that is done it breaks the inside of the tire down. This applies mainly to passenger vehicles and not bigger equipment, as they adhere to another standard.

      So I work at a tire shop and we follow the guidelines of the United States rubber manufacturer association, which states tires should never be repaired with a plug while the wheel is still mount to the tire. And tires should NEVER be repaired with an improper repair. Do your research or bring this forward to your Manger and/or owner of your business or place of work.

Tire with this done must be replaced, many ships will not correctly repair a tire after you repair one like this. A new ride is cheaper than a tow truck, so I get that, but if you have a spare, or can make it to a shop, do.

    I'm tired of seeing this ad. I'd rather just use the "normal" heavy cord type plugs that have been around forever. This looks expensive and unnecessary blue goo gimmick with thin rubber bands.

    Been doing tires for 10 years and I doubt this will last the remaining life of the tire. I'd always do a proper patch and it only takes 10 minutes including the dismount and rebalance..

      Well lucky you, you have access to a balancer and a mounting machine.

      I put 20,000 miles on one and it is still holding so... 80+ on highway and lots of dirt roads. I didn't think it would hold either.

      @@dirtyaznstyle4156 bring just the tire and wheel to a tire shop? Even if stranded on the side of road im sure somebody will help pop that tire of and give you a ride to a local tire shop. The world's garbage but not completely washed
